High-fidelity interconversion between Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and states through Floquet-Lindblad engineering in Rydberg atom arrays
Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and W states feature genuine tripartite
entanglement that cannot be converted into each other by local operations and
classical communication. Here, we present a dissipative protocol for
deterministic interconversion between Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger and W states
of three neutral Rb atoms arranged in an equilateral triangle of a
two-dimensional array. With three atomic levels and diagonal van der Waals
interactions of Rydberg atoms, the interconversion between tripartite entangled
states can be efficiently accomplished in the Floquet-Lindblad framework
through the periodic optical pump and dissipation engineering. We evaluate the
feasibility of the existing methodology using the experimental parameters
accessible to current neutral-atom platforms. We find that our scheme is robust
against typical noises, such as laser phase noise and geometric imperfections
of the atom array. In addition, our scheme can integrate the Gaussian soft
quantum control technique, which further reduces the overall conversion time
and increases the resilience to timing errors and interatomic distance
fluctuations. The high-fidelity and robust tripartite entanglement
interconversion protocol provides a route to save physical resources and
enhance the computational efficiency of quantum networks formed by neutral-atom
arrays.Comment: 18 pages, 14 figures, accepted by Physical Review Applie
Advances in the functional study of glutamine synthetase in plant abiotic stress tolerance response
Plant glutamine synthetase (GS, EC6.3.1.2) catalyzes the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate and ammonium ions and acts as a key enzyme in the nitrogen metabolic pathway in organisms. Nitrogen is an essential element for plant growth and development and plays an important role in crop yield and quality formation. Therefore, GS is crucial in many physiological processes in plants. Currently, nitrogen regulation by GS in plants is well-studied in terms of its effect on plant growth and development. This article reviews the regulatory role of plant GS and its molecular mechanism in mitigating stress injury, such as low or high temperature, salinity, drought and oxidation. The function of plant GS in stress tolerance response is focused. The review aims to provide a reference for the utilization of plant GS in crop stress tolerance breeding
Cryptanalysis on two certificates signature schemes
Certificateless cryptography has attracted a lot of attention from the research community, due to its applicability in information security. In this paper, we analyze two recently proposed certificateless signature schemes and point out their security flaws. In particular, we demonstrate universal forgeries against these schemes with known message attack
Pressure Effect on the superconducting properties of LaO_{1-x}F_{x}FeAs(x=0.11) superconductor
Diamagnetic susceptibility measurements under high hydrostatic pressure (up
to 1.03 GPa) were carried out on the newly discovered Fe-based superconductor
LaO_{1-x}F_{x}FeAs(x=0.11). The transition temperature T_c, defined as the
point at the maximum slope of superconducting transition, was enhanced almost
linearly by hydrostatic pressure, yielding a dT_c/dP of about 1.2 K/GPa.
Differential diamagnetic susceptibility curves indicate that the underlying
superconducting state is complicated. It is suggested that pressure plays an
important role on pushing low T_c superconducting phase toward the main
(optimal) superconducting phase.Comment: 7 pages, 4 figure
Simultaneously Transmitting and Reflecting RIS (STAR-RIS) Assisted Multi-Antenna Covert Communication: Analysis and Optimization
This paper investigates the multi-antenna covert communications assisted by a simultaneously transmitting and reflecting reconfigurable intelligent surface (STAR-RIS). In particular, to shelter the existence of covert communications between a multi-antenna transmitter and a single-antenna receiver from a warden, a friendly full-duplex receiver with two antennas is leveraged to make contributions where one antenna is responsible for receiving the transmitted signals and the other one transmits the jamming signals with a varying power to confuse the warden. Considering the worst case, the closed-form expression of the minimum detection error probability (DEP) at the warden is derived and utilized in a covert constraint to guarantee the system performance. Then, we formulate an optimization problem maximizing the covert rate of the system under the covertness constraint and quality of service (QoS) constraint with communication outage analysis. To jointly design the active and passive beamforming of the transmitter and STAR-RIS, an iterative algorithm based on semi-definite relaxation (SDR) method and Dinkelbach’s algorithm is proposed to effectively solve the non-convex optimization problem. Simulation results show that the proposed STAR-RIS-assisted scheme highly outperforms the case with conventional RIS, which validates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm as well as the superiority of STAR-RIS in guaranteeing the covertness of wireless communications

Low-loss broadband bi-layer edge couplers for visible light
Low-loss broadband fiber-to-chip coupling is currently challenging for visible-light photonic-integrated circuits (PICs) that need both high confinement waveguides for high-density integration and a minimum feature size above foundry lithographical limit. Here, we demonstrate bi-layer silicon nitride (SiN) edge couplers that have ≤ 4 dB/facet coupling loss with the Nufern S405-XP fiber over a broad optical wavelength range from 445 to 640 nm. The design uses a thin layer of SiN to expand the mode at the facet and adiabatically transfers the input light into a high-confinement single-mode waveguide (150-nm thick) for routing, while keeping the minimum nominal lithographic feature size at 150 nm. The achieved fiber-to-chip coupling loss is about 3 to 5 dB lower than that of single-layer designs with the same waveguide confinement and minimum feature size limitation
