    Potential categories of employment stress among rural college students and their relationship to employment psychology

    BackgroundPsychological problems related to employment are among the most common psychological problems faced by rural college students. Employment stress is an important factor affecting the development of psychological health in employees; thus, reducing employment stress can improve the psychological state of employment.ObjectiveThis study aimed to understand the potential profiles of employment stress among rural college students to determine the relationship between different profiles and employment psychology.MethodsThis study was conducted in a higher education institution in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China between June and December 2023, and 249 rural college students participated. The Employment Stress Scale and Employment Psychology Scale were used to collect the data. Data were analyzed using latent profile analysis, independent sample t-tests, and binary logistic regression analysis.ResultsThe results showed that rural university students were categorized into low-level (49.80%) and high-level (50.21%) employment stress groups. There was a statistically significant difference between the employment psychology of rural college students in the low- and high-level groups (p < 0.001). Juniors/seniors were more likely to be classified in the high-level group (OR = 0.477, p = 0.011).ConclusionIntervention programs should be developed and implemented to address the characteristics of employment stress among rural college students with different profiles to promote the healthy development of their attitudes toward employment

    Leveraging IS-based Energy Systems for Energy Poverty Alleviation in Zambia: An Interpretive Case Study

    Energy poverty is a pressing societal challenge, affecting over 700 million people worldwide, particularly underserved communities. Although information systems (IS) resources have been made available to alleviate energy poverty, realizing their effective use for intended impacts remains challenging. In this ongoing research, we adopt a resourcing perspective to explore how IS resources can be effectively used to alleviate energy poverty in underserved contexts. We present a community case study in Lusaka, Zambia, where the effective use of IS-based Energy Systems (IES) has yielded promising results. We develop an initial framework that explains “what it takes” to realize effective IES resourcing for energy poverty alleviation, including mechanisms (i.e., gap spotting, narratives, and scaffolding) and actors (i.e., resource providers and users) in three stages - resourcing IN, resourcing WITHIN, and resourcing OUT. We also indicate the next steps of this study and expected contributions and discuss implications for future research

    A new method calculating load balance of sliding bearing by using neural network PID algorithm

    Aiming at low efficiency of existing sliding bearing load balance calculation, a new method that based on neural network proportional-integral-derivative (PID) algorithm is proposed for the first time, in which a compound control algorithm combining neural network and PID algorithm is applied. In this new method, the load error is taken as the input of the system, and the eccentricity of the bearing is used as the input of the controller, and the output of the system is the oil film force of the bearing. Comparing with traditional method, calculation results show that: the number of iterations calculated by neural network PID algorithm is less than traditional one and has higher efficiency and stronger adaptability under different loads

    Research on vibration characteristics of marine power-spilt gear system

    In order to carry out a more in-depth study on the vibration characteristics of the marine power-spilt gear system, a nonlinear dynamic model of a certain type of marine gearbox was established, taking into account factors such as dynamic backlash and time-varying mesh stiffness. The numerical simulation method was used to calculate the variation of the system vibration response with input speed, the torsional stiffness of the linkage shaft and the stiffness of the output shaft under different backlach. The results show that the system will occur resonance as the input speed increases; the torsional stiffness of the linkage axis has an optimal value, so that the vibration response amplitude of the system is the smallest; as the support stiffness of the output shaft increases, the vibration acceleration of the output shaft does not change much, while the vibration displacement is significantly reduced
