    This experiment was carried out to study the effect of substitution of TSI ration with rice bran fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens on feed comsumtion, henday production, egg mass and feed convertion of layer. This experiment was designed using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with six treatments. Each treatment three replicates at twelve layer each. The treatment were diets which contained substitution of 20% (A), 30% (B), 40% (C), 50 % (D), 60% (E) and 70% TSI with rice bran fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens (F), resvectively. Feed and water was offered ad libitum. Result of this experiment showed that feed comsumtion, henday production, egg mass and feed convertion were highly affected (P<0.01) by treatment but not affected to henday production. It was concluded that substitution of 40% TSI ration with rice bran fermented with Bacillus amyloliquefaciens was decreased feed comsumtion and feed convertion of layer

    Suatu penelitian telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh dosis inokulum dan lama fermentasi campuran dedak padi dan darah dengan Bacillus amyloliquefaciens terhadap kandungan serat kasar, kecernaan serat kasar dan energi metabolisme. Metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 2x3 digunakan dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama, dosis inokulum yaitu A1:1% dan A2:3%. Faktor kedua, lama fermentasi B1:1 hari, B2:3 hari, B3:5 hari. Peubah yang diamati adalah kandungan serat kasar, kecernaan serat kasar, dan energi metabolisme. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara dosis inokulum dan lama fermentasi campuran dedak padi dan darah pada kandungan serat kasar dan energi metabolisme. Pada kecernaan serat kasar terjadi interaksi terhadap dosis inokulum dan lama fermentasi dengan dosis inokulum dan lama fermentasi campuran dedak padi dan darah fermentasi. Lama fermentasi menunjukkan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata (P<0.05) terhadap kandungan serat kasar dan energi metabolisme. Kesimpulannya, kualitas gizi terbaik dari fermentasi campuran dedak padi dan darah dengan Bacillus amyloliquefaciens diperoleh pada dosis 3% dan lama fermentasi 3 hari, dengan kandungan serat kasar 7,93 %, kecernaan serat kasar 45,11%, dan energi metabolisme 3195 kkal

    Probiotics are living microorganisms which controls the balance of pathogenic microbes in the digestive tract of cattle through competitive exclusion mechanism which lately has been widely used as a feed aditive both ruminants and poultry . One type of microbes used in probiotics in poultry livestock is a bacterium of the genus Bacillus . Bacillus coagulans (Lactobacillus sporogenes) had the same function as Lactobacillus sp known as probiotics were able to live in the digestive tract and produced some enzymes and antibiotics required by livestock. The method used in this study is an experimental method with a completely randomized design with 6 treatments administered dose level Basillus coagulans were repeated 5 times. Bacillus coagulans administration dose levels are : Do = Control (Provision of physiological saline without bacteria), DI = 0,6.106 CFU/ml, DII = 42.106 CFU/ml, DIII = 45.107 CFU/ml, DIV = 73.108 CFU/ml, DV = 90.1010 CFU/ml. To determine the effect of treatment used analysis of variance completely randomized design pattern and made a real difference obtained Duncan Range Test. The parameters measured were the number of colonies of Bacillus coagulans in the small intestine, feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion, and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC) of broiler chickens. The results showed the higher dose of Bacillus coagulans were given the better growth of broiler chickens, which at doses 90.1010 CFU /ml chicken rations consume 2679 grams/head with the weight of 1810 g/fish or feed conversion of 1.48 and IOFC 170 g/kg harvest weight or Rp 508 ,-/kg harvest weight. Bacillus coagulans can be used as probiotics to aid digestion and optimal growth of broiler chicken
