While germline copy-number variants (CNVs) contribute to schizophrenia (SCZ) risk, the contribution of somatic CNVs (sCNVs)—present in some but not all cells—remains unknown. We identified sCNVs using blood-derived genotype arrays from 12,834 SCZ cases and 11,648 controls, filtering sCNVs at loci recurrently mutated in clonal blood disorders. Likely early-developmental sCNVs were more common in cases (0.91%) than controls (0.51%, p = 2.68e−4), with recurrent somatic deletions of exons 1–5 of the NRXN1 gene in five SCZ cases. Hi-C maps revealed ectopic, allele-specific loops forming between a potential cryptic promoter and non-coding cis-regulatory elements upon 5′ deletions in NRXN1. We also observed recurrent intragenic deletions of ABCB11, encoding a transporter implicated in anti-psychotic response, in five treatment-resistant SCZ cases and showed that ABCB11 is specifically enriched in neurons forming mesocortical and mesolimbic dopaminergic projections. Our results indicate potential roles of sCNVs in SCZ risk

Requirements traceability has been widely recognized as an indispensable support to software development activity, especially during recent years, with the scale of the software system becoming unprecendentedly larger and the time period of developing a software system becoming longer. This situation brings up more evolution in requirements specifications and makes requirements traceability more attractive. However, due to the informality of the specifications, the traceability of requirements during evolutions is unlikely to be built systematically and precisely. In this paper, we use SOFL specification to establish an effective approach to building requirements traceability systematically and automatically under certain conditions

The crane lattice boom is complex and the load is diversity, part of the structure may suffer plastic deformation because of the high stress concentration or poor weld quality under exceptional poor load conditions. So using strain analysis parameter is reasonable compared to stress parameter. The paper was focused on the fatigue crack initiation stage of crane lattice boom. The method of local stress strain was used combined with the correction Neuber method. A crane fatigue crack initiation life evaluation algorithm model was built. According to the model, three main factors which will influence the initiation life calculation were analyzed and compared. Fatigue tests were also carried out with K nodes of crane lattice boom. When the material was determined under certain circumstances, the stress concentration factor had the most impact result on the life. The mean stress on the material had the less impact but it cannot be ignored. According to the Factors, optimization suggestions to lattice boom spatial structure and work process improvement measures were proposed

Optimal configuration method of demand-side flexible resources for enhancing renewable energy integration

    No full text
Abstract Demand-side flexible load resources, such as Electric Vehicles (EVs) and Air Conditioners (ACs), offer significant potential for enhancing flexibility in the power system, thereby promoting the full integration of renewable energy. To this end, this paper proposes an optimal allocation method for demand-side flexible resources to enhance renewable energy consumption. Firstly, the adjustable flexibility of these resources is modeled based on the generalized energy storage model. Secondly, we generate random scenarios for wind, solar, and load, considering variable correlations based on non-parametric probability predictions of random variables combined with Copula function sampling. Next, we establish the optimal allocation model for demand-side flexible resources, considering the simulated operation of these random scenarios. Finally, we optimize the demand-side resource transformation plan year by year based on the growth trend forecast results of renewable energy installed capacity in Jiangsu Province from 2025 to 2031

Polyimide is type of heterocyclic polymer compound characterized by an imide ring structure. The aromatic ring structure in polyimide facilitates good electrical properties, mechanical properties, thermal properties and radiation resistance, etc. It is widely used in the aerospace field, in electronic components and in the semiconductor industry. Traditional methods for the preparation of polyimide films have different limitations. Here, a new one-step method was established to prepare polyimide coatings using liquid flame spray. The effect of different mass fraction on the surface and cross section structure characteristics of polyimide coatings was studied. The formation process of the polyimide-alumina composite coatings was analyzed using single particles and coatings with different amount of alumina. The composite coating shows a flat and dense structure and excellent dielectric properties. The results shed light on construction of polymer-inorganic composite layers for widespread applications

The identification of peripheral multi-omics biomarkers of brain disorders has long been hindered by insufficient sample size and confounder influence. This study aimed to compare biomarker potential for different molecules and diseases. We leveraged summary statistics of five blood quantitative trait loci studies (N = 1980 to 22,609) and genome-wide association studies (N = 9725 to 500,199) from 14 different brain disorders, such as Schizophrenia (SCZ) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). We applied summary-based and two-sample Mendelian Randomization to estimate the associations between blood molecules and brain disorders. We identified 524 RNA, 807 methylation sites, 29 proteins, seven cytokines, and 22 metabolites having a significant association with at least one of 14 brain disorders. Simulation analyses indicated that a cross-omics combination of biomarkers had better performance for most disorders, and different disorders could associate with different omics. We identified an 11-methylation-site model for SCZ diagnosis (Area Under Curve, AUC = 0.74) by analyzing selected candidate markers in published datasets (total N = 6098). Moreover, we constructed an 18-methylation-sites model that could predict the prognosis of elders with mild cognitive impairment (hazard ratio = 2.32). We provided an association landscape between blood cross-omic biomarkers and 14 brain disorders as well as a suggestion guide for future clinical discovery and application

The Al2O3-13 wt.% TiO2 (AT13) composite coatings were prepared on Q235 steel by plasma spray technique. The spray parameters were designed by the orthogonal experiments, and the properties of the coating were evaluated. Results showed that with respect to the bond strength of the coating, the optimized spraying parameters were the plasma current of 530 A, Ar flow of 41 L/min, H2 flow of 10 L/min, and spray standoff distance of 100 mm. The plasma spray process led to the transition of α-Al2O3 to γ-Al2O3, resulting in the increase in the porosity of AT13 coating prepared at nonoptimized parameters. Meanwhile, the porosity and cracks were also increased due to the decrease in the Ar flow and the increase in spray standoff distance. The low porosity, a few cracks, and the uniformly dispersed TiO2 particles contributed the enhanced properties including mechanical and corrosion behaviors of the AT13 coating prepared at optimized parameters. The bond strength, microhardness, and thermal shock resistance of the AT13 coating could reach 25.01 MPa, 1000.6 HV0.5, and 40 times when the coating was prepared at optimized parameters, respectively. Especially, the static Icorr of the AT13 coating prepared at optimized parameters was two order of magnitude less than that of Q235 steel. In addition, the erosion weight loss of Q235 steel could be decreased about 30 times by the protection of the AT13 coating

Nickel-based alloys are commonly used as protective coating materials for surface protection applications owing to their superior resistance to corrosion, wear and high-temperature oxidation. It is urgent to study the fundamental mechanism between the structure and corrosion properties of the Nickel-base composite coatings. This paper, therefore, focuses on clarifying the mechanisms of the microstructure influencing the acid corrosion and mechanical characteristics of the as-sprayed NiCrBSi coating and post-heat-treated coating. The formation mechanisms of the amorphous phase of flat particles during the plasma spray process were studied by using X-ray diffraction analysis, Raman spectroscopy and confocal laser scanning microscope at first. Then the evolutionary process of the corrosion structure and phase of the coating in the accelerated corrosion experiment is directly visualized by using scanning electron microscopy and energy spectrum analysis. The mechanical properties of the amorphous NiCrBSi coatings are lastly measured by microhardness and friction wear tests. The critical phenomena and results help to elucidate the relative influence of the surface features of atmospheric plasma sprayed coatings on acid corrosion responses and wear resistance, aiming at contributing to the development of a protective technique for electrical engineering
