Heavy QQ(bar) "Fireball" Annihilation to Multiple Vector Bosons

Drawing analogy of replacing the nucleon by heavy chiral quark QQ, the pion by Goldstone boson GG, and πNN\pi NN coupling by GQQGQQ coupling, we construct a statistical model for QQˉ→nGQ\bar Q \to nG annihilation, i.e. into nn longitudinal weak bosons. This analogy is becoming prescient since the LHC direct bound mQ>611m_Q > 611 GeV implies strong Yukawa coupling. Taking mQ∈(1,2)m_Q \in (1, 2) TeV, the mean number ranges from 6 to over 10, with negligible two or three boson production. With individual t′t' or b′b' decays suppressed either by phase space or quark mixing, and given the strong Yukawa coupling, QQˉ→nVLQ\bar Q\to nV_L is the likely outcome for very heavy QQˉQ\bar Q production at the LHC.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

New Physics and Enhanced Gluonic Penguin

    Get PDF
We discuss the historical development of the gluonic B-penguin, its sensitivity to H+H^+ effects, and \bsg\sim 10--15% as a possible solution to the \Bsl and nCn_C problems. The latter and the connection of the gluonic penguin to inclusive B→η′+XsB\to \eta^\prime+ X_s production through the gluon anomaly, with the intriguing prospect of 10% inclusive CP asymmetries, bring us to topics of current interest.Comment: 6 pages, aipproc.sty, 2 figs. Effect of Supersymmetric Right-handed Flavor Mixing on BsB_s decays

Motivated by the possibility of SϕKS<0{\cal S}_{\phi K_S}<0, we study the implications for BsB_s meson system. In a specific model that realizes SϕKS<0{\cal S}_{\phi K_S}<0 with large ss-bb mixing, right-handed dynamics and a new CP phase, we present predictions for CP asymmetries in Bs→J/ψϕB_s\to J/\psi\phi, K+K−K^+K^- and ϕγ\phi\gamma decays. Even if the measurement of time-dependent CP asymmetry becomes hampered by very fast BsB_s oscillation, a finite difference between the decay rates of BsB_s mass eigenstates may enable the studies of CP violations with untagged data samples. Thus, studies of CP violation in the BsB_s system would remain useful for the extraction of new physics information.Comment: 7 pages, 15 figure

Effect of Fourth Generation CP Phase on b\to s Transitions

We study the effect of a sequential fourth generation on b\to s gamma, B_s mixing, B\to K^{(*)}\ell^+\ell^-, X_s\ell^+\ell^- and \phi K_S, taking into account the presence of a new CP phase in quark mixing. We find that the effects via electromagnetic and strong penguins, such as in b\to s gamma or CP violation in B\to \phi K_S, are rather mild, but impact via box or Z penguins is quite significant. Not only can one have much larger than expected B_s mixing, even if it is measured near the present limit, mixing dependent CP violation could become maximal. For electroweak penguin modes, the fourth generation can provide the enhancement that perhaps may be needed, while the m_{\ell^+\ell^-} dependence of the forward-backward asymmetry in B\to K^{*}\ell^+\ell^- can further probe for the fourth generation. These effects can be studied in detail at the B factories and the Tevatron.Comment: 8 pages, latex, 9 eps figures, one reference added, to appear in EPJ
