Radiative Corrections to Neutrino Mixing and CP Violation in the Minimal Seesaw Model with Leptogenesis
Radiative corrections to neutrino mixing and CP violation are analyzed in the
minimal seesaw model with two heavy right-handed neutrinos. We find that
textures of the effective Majorana neutrino mass matrix are essentially stable
against renormalization effects. Taking account of the
Frampton-Glashow-Yanagida ansatz for the Dirac neutrino Yukawa coupling matrix,
we calculate the running effects of light neutrino masses, lepton flavor mixing
angles and CP-violating phases for both (normal mass hierarchy) and
(inverted mass hierarchy) cases in the standard model and in its
minimal supersymmetric extension. Very instructive predictions for the
cosmological baryon number asymmetry via thermal leptogenesis are also given
with the help of low-energy neutrino mixing quantities.Comment: 21 pages, 6 figures; more references adde
Zero-bias anomalies on SrLaCuO thin films
High-impedance contacts made on the surface of SrLaCuO
superconducting thin films systematically display a zero-bias anomaly. We
consider two-level systems (TLS) as the origin of this anomaly. We observe that
the contribution of some TLS to the contact resistance is weakened by a
magnetic field. We show that this could result from the increase of the TLS
relaxation rate in the superconducting state, due to its ability to create
pairs of quasiparticles out of the condensate, when located close to the
surface of the film
Entropy spectrum of a Kerr anti-de Sitter black hole
The entropy spectrum of a spherically symmetric black hole was derived
without the quasinormal modes in the work of Majhi and Vagenas. Extending this
work to rotating black holes, we quantize the entropy and the horizon area of a
Kerr anti-de Sitter black hole by two methods. The spectra of entropy and area
are obtained via the Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rule and the adiabatic
invariance in the first way. By addressing the wave function of emitted
(absorbed) particles, the entropy and the area are quantized in the second one.
Both results show that the entropy and the area spectra are equally spaced.Comment: Accepted for publication in The European Physical Journal C, Volume

The sintering, sintered microstructure and mechanical properties of Ti-Fe-Si Alloys
A systematic study has been conducted of the sintering, sintered microstructure and tensile properties of a range of lower cost Ti-Fe-Si alloys, including Ti-3Fe-(0-4)Si, Ti-(3-6)Fe-0.5Si, and Ti-(3-6)Fe-1Si (in wt pct throughout). Small additions of Si (≤1 pct) noticeably improve the as-sintered tensile properties of Ti-3Fe alloy, including the ductility, with fine titanium silicides (TiSi) being dispersed in both the α and β phases. Conversely, additions of >1 pct Si produce coarse and/or networked TiSi silicides along the grain boundaries leading to predominantly intergranular fracture and, hence, poor ductility, although the tensile strength continues to increase because of the reinforcement by TiSi. Increasing the Fe content in the Ti-xFe-0.5/ 1.0Si alloys above 3 pct markedly increases the average grain size and changes the morphology of the α-phase phase to much thinner and more acicular laths. Consequently, the ductility drops t
Spectroscopy of the Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton-Axion black hole
The entropy spectrum of a spherically symmetric black hole was derived via
the Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rule in Majhi and Vagenas's work. Extending
this work to charged and rotating black holes, we quantize the horizon area and
the entropy of an Einstein-Maxwell-Dilaton-Axion (EMDA) black hole via the
Bohr-Sommerfeld quantization rule and the adiabatic invariance. The result
shows the area spectrum and the entropy spectrum are respectively equally
spaced and independent on the parameters of the black hole.Comment: 9 page
Lepton flavor violation decays in the topcolor-assisted technicolor model and the littlest Higgs model with parity
The new particles predicted by the topcolor-assisted technicolor ()
model and the littlest Higgs model with T-parity (called model) can
induce the lepton flavor violation () couplings at tree level or one loop
level, which might generate large contributions to some processes. Taking
into account the constraints of the experimental data on the relevant free
parameters, we calculate the branching ratios of the decay processes
with = , and
in the context of these two kinds of new physics models. We find
that the model and the model can indeed produce significant
contributions to some of these decay processes.Comment: 24 pages, 7 figure
Anomaly analysis of Hawking radiation from Kaluza-Klein black hole with squashed horizon
Considering gravitational and gauge anomalies at the horizon, a new method
that to derive Hawking radiations from black holes has been developed by
Wilczek et al. In this paper, we apply this method to non-rotating and rotating
Kaluza-Klein black holes with squashed horizon, respectively. For the rotating
case, we found that, after the dimensional reduction, an effective U(1) gauge
field is generated by an angular isometry. The results show that the gauge
current and energy-momentum tensor fluxes are exactly equivalent to Hawking
radiation from the event horizon.Comment: 15 pages, no figures, the improved version, accepted by Eur. Phys. J.
Direct Measurements of the Branching Fractions for and and Determinations of the Form Factors and
The absolute branching fractions for the decays and

tagged sample from the data collected around 3.773 GeV with the
BES-II detector at the BEPC. In the system recoiling against the singly tagged
meson, events for and events for decays are observed. Those yield
the absolute branching fractions to be and . The
vector form factors are determined to be
and . The ratio of the two form
factors is measured to be .Comment: 6 pages, 5 figure

Based on a sample of 5.8X 10^7 J/psi events taken with the BESII detector,
the branching fractions of J/psi--> 2(pi+pi-)eta and J/psi-->3(pi+pi-)eta are
measured for the first time to be (2.26+-0.08+-0.27)X10^{-3} and
(7.24+-0.96+-1.11)X10^{-4}, respectively.Comment: 11 pages, 6 figure
