Representations of Hopf Ore extensions of group algebras and pointed Hopf algebras of rank one

In this paper, we study the representation theory of Hopf-Ore extensions of group algebras and pointed Hopf algebras of rank one over an arbitrary field kk. Let H=kG(\chi, a,\d) be a Hopf-Ore extension of kGkG and H′H' a rank one quotient Hopf algebra of HH, where kk is a field, GG is a group, aa is a central element of GG and χ\chi is a kk-valued character for GG with χ(a)≠1\chi(a)\neq 1. We first show that the simple weight modules over HH and H′H' are finite dimensional. Then we describe the structures of all simple weight modules over HH and H′H', and classify them. We also consider the decomposition of the tensor product of two simple weight modules over H′H' into the direct sum of indecomposable modules. Furthermore, we describe the structures of finite dimensional indecomposable weight modules over HH and H′H', and classify them. Finally, when χ(a)\chi(a) is a primitive nn-th root of unity for some n>2n>2, we determine all finite dimensional indecomposable projective objects in the category of weight modules over H′H'.Comment: arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with arXiv:1206.394

AbstractApoptosis proteins have a central role in the development and homeostasis of an organism. These proteins are very important for understanding the mechanism of programmed cell death. Based on the idea of coarse-grained description and grouping in physics, a new feature extraction method with grouped weight for protein sequence is presented, and applied to apoptosis protein subcellular localization prediction associated with support vector machine. For the same training dataset and the same predictive algorithm, the overall prediction accuracy of our method in Jackknife test is 13.2% and 15.3% higher than the accuracy based on the amino acid composition and instability index. Especially for the else class apoptosis proteins, the increment of prediction accuracy is 41.7 and 33.3 percentile, respectively. The experiment results show that the new feature extraction method is efficient to extract the structure information implicated in protein sequence and the method has reached a satisfied performance despite its simplicity. The overall prediction accuracy of EBGW_SVM model on dataset ZD98 reach 92.9% in Jackknife test, which is 8.2–20.4 percentile higher than other existing models. For a new dataset ZW225, the overall prediction accuracy of EBGW_SVM achieves 83.1%. Those implied that EBGW_SVM model is a simple but efficient prediction model for apoptosis protein subcellular location prediction

Evaluating the Risk of Tumors Diseases Based on Measurement of Urinary and Serumal Antioxidants Using the New Agar Diffusion Methods

Objectives. To discuss the characteristics of the amount of urinary total antioxidants in tumor diseases and the possibility of utilizing the changing regulation of urinary antioxidants to diagnose tumor diseases. Method. Urine and serum specimens from 130 healthy people were used to investigate the variation of antioxidant capacity against age. Urine and serum specimens from 44 unselected patients with tumors and 44 healthy people with same age background were used to explore the significance of urinary antioxidant capacity in clinic to diagnose tumor diseases. Potassium permanganate agar method and iodine starch method were used to determine the amount of total antioxidants. Results. In healthy people, more antioxidants in urine were measured in older people, while the results were opposite in serum. More antioxidants were found in urine of tumor patients than in healthy people with same age-range. Conclusions. According to the results of 130 measurements, the amount of antioxidants in urine varies by age. By using agar methods to measure antioxidants, the effect of age is required to be considered. Antioxidants levels from tumor patients were significantly higher than healthy individuals in urine. The combination of urine and serum to determine total antioxidants can better diagnose tumor diseases based on iodine starch method, with area under the receiver operating characteristics curve at 0.787

The Wing Pavilion:A Participatory Action Approach to Bamboo Architectural Research in Chinese Universities

The application of bamboo construction techniques in Chinese architecture remains behind its potential. Chinese universities began conducting participatory action research on bamboo as a building material. Students from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology designed the wing pavilion: a temporary bamboo structure built in six days inside the Nan Sha Bird Eco-Park, Guangzhou. The process combined handcraft and digital techniques within five steps: pre-design, formulation, successive answers, project, and conclusion of the theory. Eight bamboo arches interconnected to create a six-meter span roof. Each arch was pre-fabricated with two layers of split bamboo and one slender bamboo culm as reinforcement. The cartesian plane technique was utilised to overcome the indeterminacy of bamboo. Details could be fuller, and the roof lacked enough strength. More important than a perfect result, the principles of bamboo architecture transferred to students, and a range of scales can replicate the methodology. The technical solution reflected a Western functionality with an Asian essence. Many of the now underprivileged people will benefit from it since bamboo is abundant in China.
