Influence of store attributes on shopping intentions in factory outlet malls
This paper examines the effect of eight types of consumer decision-making styles and shopping behaviour on future shopping intentions at factory outlet malls. Results indicate that six out of eight decision-making styles are positively related of future shopping intentions. Conclusions drawn from the current study's findings and their implications for consumer decision-making and shopping behaviour are discussed
Nonlinear ER effects in an ac applied field
The electric field used in most electrorheological (ER) experiments is
usually quite high, and nonlinear ER effects have been theoretically predicted
and experimentally measured recently. A direct method of measuring the
nonlinear ER effects is to examine the frequency dependence of the same
effects. For a sinusoidal applied field, we calculate the ac response which
generally includes higher harmonics. In is work, we develop a multiple image
formula, and calculate the total dipole moments of a pair of dielectric
spheres, embedded in a nonlinear host. The higher harmonics due to the
nonlinearity are calculated systematically.Comment: Presented at Conference on Computational Physics (CCP2000), held at

On the Quantization of Multilinear Momentum Observables
A generally accepted set of axioms of quantization is introduced and applied to the quantization of the multilinear momentum observables so as to delimit the possible forms of the corresponding quantum operators. This analysis leads to a canonical decomposition of the quantum observables into a series of symmetric operators each of which is determined by an unknown auxilliary tensor generated by the multilinear momentum. Methods of removing the residual indeterminates in the differential operators are then critically reviewed, and a particular choice illustrated by means of examples defined on the real line
Nonlinear ac response of anisotropic composites
When a suspension consisting of dielectric particles having nonlinear
characteristics is subjected to a sinusoidal (ac) field, the electrical
response will in general consist of ac fields at frequencies of the
higher-order harmonics. These ac responses will also be anisotropic. In this
work, a self-consistent formalism has been employed to compute the induced
dipole moment for suspensions in which the suspended particles have nonlinear
characteristics, in an attempt to investigate the anisotropy in the ac
response. The results showed that the harmonics of the induced dipole moment
and the local electric field are both increased as the anisotropy increases for
the longitudinal field case, while the harmonics are decreased as the
anisotropy increases for the transverse field case. These results are
qualitatively understood with the spectral representation. Thus, by measuring
the ac responses both parallel and perpendicular to the uniaxial anisotropic
axis of the field-induced structures, it is possible to perform a real-time
monitoring of the field-induced aggregation process.Comment: 14 pages and 4 eps figure

Participants performed two constrained tasks, one physical and one cognitive , 4 times over this period. Participant responses were recorded using a variety of measures including the System Usability Scale and the NASA Task Load Index . The use of the robot had an impact on the experienced workload of the participants diïŹerently for the two tasks, and this eïŹect changed over time. In the physical task, there was evidence of adaptation to the robotâs behaviour. For the cognitive task, the use of the robot was experienced as more frustrating in the later weeks.Peer reviewedFinal Published versio
Coulomb interaction effects on nonlinear optical response in C60, C70, and higher fullerenes
Nonlinear optical properties in the fullerene C and the extracted
higher fullerenes -- C, C, C, and C -- are
theoretically investigated by using the exciton formalism and the
sum-over-states method. We find that off-resonant third order susceptibilities
of higher fullerenes are a few times larger than those of C. The
magnitude of nonlinearity increases as the optical gap decreases in higher
fullerenes. The nonlinearity is nearly proportional to the fourth power of the
carbon number when the onsite Coulomb repulsion is or , being the
nearest neighbor hopping integral. This result, indicating important roles of
Coulomb interactions, agrees with quantum chemical calculations of higher
fullerenes.Comment: 8 pages; 3 figures; Figures should be requested to the author
