Kekuatan Dan Ketahanan Konkrit Ringan Berbusa Sebagai Bahan Struktur
Low density lightweight foam concrete is more generally known as a construction material that is weak in character. This is caused by the presence of numerous air cells as aggregate substitutes in its matrix construction
[Sa'id Hawwa's Writing Method on Islamic Family Through His Work Qawanin Al-Bayt Al-Muslim] Metod Penulisan Sa‘Id Hawwa Berhubung Kekeluargaan Islam Menerusi Karyanya Qawanin Al-Bayt Al-Muslim
Islam is a religion that put family well-being as one of its priorities. The discourse regarding attitudes and laws in family has long been explained in great length in Islamic familial literatures. However, the focus of the discourse usually inclines towards juridical aspect and general values. It is quite uncommon to find a writing that is authored in policy form which can be utilised as a guideline by the family. Sa‘id Hawwa is a prominent Muslim preachers who was famous for his methodological approach in writing about familial matters. This study aims to run a content analysis on Sa‘id Hawwa’s methodological writing in his Qawanin al-Bayt al-Muslim. This qualitative study utilises inductive, deductive and comparative method. This study finds that Sa‘id Hawwa’s approach very relevant to be applied in other writings on family. This is beacause he uses relax writing style, simple phrasings, avoiding denominational issues and moderate stand when discussing Sufism and denominational indifferences. Said Hawwa also explains using examples and he offers solutions besides using a narrative approach of storytelling based on his own experience. Not only is this approach proper with the need of the today’s society, it should be considered as a guideline for modern preachers in addressing the people they call.

A HOLISTIC MODEL OF EMPLOYEE’S UNDERSTANDING IN THE MANAGEMENT OF ISLAMIC ORGANIZATIONS
Abstract. As a country with a majority of Muslim population and recognizes Islam as the official religion, Malaysia is indeed has a large number of Islamic-based organizations offering shariah-compliant products and services. However, such organizations have been receiving criticism from the client and the public on the aspect of management executed by employee. They claimed that the execution of duties among the employee in the Islamic organization does not reflect the nature of the organization itself. The rapid development of such an organization requires a solid understanding among the employee in charge of the task entrusted. However, previous studies have found that the understanding of employee in carrying out their duties in the Islamic organization is quite unsatisfactory. Therefore, this study takes the initiative to study the understanding of the employee in the implementation of Islamic management in Islamic organization. The study was conducted using the qualitative method. The sample of this study consisted of 11 executives in three Islamic organizations. Among the organizations are Islamic Banking, Takaful and Islamic Property Management Company. The location of the study involved selected organizations in three states of the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia namely Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang. The study is expected to produce a holistic model of employee understanding in the management of an Islamic organization. The model involves several phases that aim to ensure that employee understanding covers all aspects such as goals, implementation and impact.Key words: employee understanding, Islamic management, Islamic organisation, Malaysia
Case report: Unusual cause of difficulty in intubation and ventilation with asthmatic-like presentation of Endobronchial Tuberculosis
Endobronchial Tuberculosis is hazardous in causing circumferential narrowing of tracheobronchial tree despite
the eradication of tubercle bacilli in the initial insult from Pulmonary Tuberculosis. They may present as
treatment resistant bronchial asthma and pose challenge to airway management in the acute setting. We present
a 25 year-old lady who was newly diagnosed bronchial asthma with a past history of Pulmonary Tuberculosis
that had completed treatment. She presented with sudden onset of difficulty breathing associated with noisy
breathing for 3 days and hoarseness of voice for 6 months. Due to resistant bronchospasm, attempts were made
to secure the airway which led to unanticipated difficult intubation and ventilation. Subsequent investigations
confirmed the diagnosis of Endobronchial Tuberculosis and patient was managed successfully with anti TB
medication, corticosteroids and multiple sessions of tracheal dilatation for tracheal stenosis. This case highlights
the unusual cause of difficulty in intubation and ventilation due to Endobronchial Tuberculosis, which required
medical and surgical intervention to improve the condition
The first Malay database toward the ethnic-specific target molecular variation
BACKGROUND:The Malaysian Node of the Human Variome Project (MyHVP) is one of the eighteen official Human Variome Project (HVP) country-specific nodes. Since its inception in 9(th) October 2010, MyHVP has attracted the significant number of Malaysian clinicians and researchers to participate and contribute their data to this project. MyHVP also act as the center of coordination for genotypic and phenotypic variation studies of the Malaysian population. A specialized database was developed to store and manage the data based on genetic variations which also associated with health and disease of Malaysian ethnic groups. This ethnic-specific database is called the Malaysian Node of the Human Variome Project database (MyHVPDb).
FINDINGS:Currently, MyHVPDb provides only information about the genetic variations and mutations found in the Malays. In the near future, it will expand for the other Malaysian ethnics as well. The data sets are specified based on diseases or genetic mutation types which have three main subcategories: Single Nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP), Copy Number Variation (CNV) followed by the mutations which code for the common diseases among Malaysians. MyHVPDb has been open to the local researchers, academicians and students through the registration at the portal of MyHVP ( http://hvpmalaysia.kk.usm.my/mhgvc/index.php?id=register ).
CONCLUSIONS:This database would be useful for clinicians and researchers who are interested in doing a study on genomics population and genetic diseases in order to obtain up-to-date and accurate information regarding the population-specific variations and also useful for those in countries with similar ethnic background
Properties of Recycled Aggregate Concrete Reinforced with Polypropylene Fibre
This research work is aimed to investigate how the addition of various proportion of polypropylene fibre affects the mechanical strength and permeability characteristics of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) which has been produced with treated coarse recycled concrete aggregate (RCA). Further research on RAC properties and their applications is of great importance as the scarcity of virgin aggregate sources in close proximity to major urban centers is becoming a worldwide problem. In this study, the hardened RAC properties at the curing age of 7 and 28 days such as compressive strength, flexural strength, ultrasonic pulse velocity (UPV), water absorption and total porosity were evaluated and compare with control specimens. Experimental result indicates that although the inclusion of the treated coarse RCA can enhance the mechanical strength and permeability properties of RAC, Further modification by addition of polypropylene fibre can optimize the results
Optimal design of water networks involving multiple contaminants for global water operations
This work presents the development of a systematic technique to target the minimum fresh water consumption and wastewater generation to achieve maximum water recovery (MWR) for systems involving multiple contaminants. A generic linear programing (LP) model has been developed based on water network superstructure to simultaneously set the targets and design the MWR network, for both mass transfer‐based (MTB) and non‐mass transfer‐based (NMTB) problems (i.e. global water‐using operations). This work also includes cases where fresh water concentrations for all contaminants are assumed to be either zero or non‐zero. The proposed method is superior since it can guarantee a global optimal solution. Application of the methodology on three case studies shows significant water savings, illustrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach
Review on Techniques for Plant Leaf Classification and Recognition
Plant systematics can be classified and recognized based on their reproductive system (flowers) and leaf morphology. Neural networks is one of the most popular machine learning algorithms for plant leaf classification. The commonly used neutral networks are artificial neural network (ANN), probabilistic neural network (PNN), convolutional neural network (CNN), k-nearest neighbor (KNN) and support vector machine (SVM), even some studies used combined techniques for accuracy improvement. The utilization of several varying preprocessing techniques, and characteristic parameters in feature extraction appeared to improve the performance of plant leaf classification. The findings of previous studies are critically compared in terms of their accuracy based on the applied neural network techniques. This paper aims to review and analyze the implementation and performance of various methodologies on plant classification. Each technique has its advantages and limitations in leaf pattern recognition. The quality of leaf images plays an important role, and therefore, a reliable source of leaf database must be used to establish the machine learning algorithm prior to leaf recognition and validation
