New Pd(II) and Pt(IV) binuclear complexes with two heterocyclic Schiff base ligands of type ONO derived from condensation of salicylaldehyde with 4-aminoantipyrine have been synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, IR, electronic absorption spectra, magnetic moments. It has been found that the stoichiometric ratio is metal:ligand (2:2) with Pd(II) or Pt(IV) ions forming binuclear complexes. The electrochemistry of the Pt complexes for Pt(IV)/Pt(II) redox couple was investigated by cyclic voltammetry. According to molar conductance, the complexes may be formulated as [Pd2(L1)2], [Pt2(L1)2(H2O)4]Cl2, [Pd2(L2)2]Cl, and [Pt2(L2)2(H2O)4]Cl3. On the basis of the magnetic moments, square planar geometry is suggested for Pd(II) complexes and octahedral geometry is suggested for Pt(IV) complexes. The antibacterial activity of the ligands and complexes were assessed against Gram‐positive bacteria B. subtilis and S. aureus and Gram‐negative bacteria S. typhi and Salmonella spp

In this paper; synthesis, characterization and biocidal properties of new prepared Sc(III), Y(III), La(III) and Ce(III) complexes with the two ferrocenyl ligands of 1,1`-bis[(2-thienylmethylidene)hydrazono-1-ethyl]ferrocene and 1,1`-bis(2,3-dihydro-2-methylbenzo[d] thiazol-2-yl)ferrocene are reported. These organometallic compounds are potential ligands for lanthanide metal ions. The composition of these complexes is discussed on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, NMR, magnetic moments, electronic absorption spectra and conductivity measurements. In vitro antimicrobial activity of the prepared complexes was screened. All complexes showed remarkable antibiotic activity. Scandium complexes are very effective towards Salmonella spp. Sc-L2 complex found to have inhibition activity against B. subtilis more than the standard drugs

In our study, we can confirm that the teaching/learning of oral French as a foreign language is not an easy task, however important in the training of learners. The spoken word is a main daily language practice, but it is poorly considered and does little real education. Considered as elusive, ephemeral, it benefits from a negative representation in relation to written language practice, to which it is constantly compared and to which it is most often used as support. For many language teachers, teaching / learning of the spoken language remains a conflictual, unclear and poorly defined practice in the language class, reducing itself to global and sometimes uncertain practices. The purpose of this study is to highlight the notion of the spoken word and to show that the acquisition of oral communication skills can constitute, independently of the written word, an objective in its own right in a foreign language class. It is also a question of proposing a methodology for oral teaching / learning and its evaluation which takes into account its variations and specificities

Rock support systems have become widely dominant components in underground hard rock mines. They are used to maintain the stability of underground openings and reinforce disturbed rock masses after creating an excavation or starting mining activity. Thus, the objective of this study is to examine the effect of support types on the performance stability of underground tunnels that exist in hard rock mines, in terms of deformation, the extent of failure zones and the strength of the rock mass surrounding the tunnel. This, in turn, will help in the selection of an appropriate support system that mitigates the stress-deformation conditions around the tunnel. Herein, four models have been built using the RS2D program, simulated and introduced to evaluate the behaviour of an underground tunnel with different rock support systems. The first model is simulated without any support system, whereas, rock bolts have been installed in the second model. The third model applied only shotcrete, while rock bolts and shotcrete are combined together in the fourth model. The results are presented and discussed in terms of strength factor, the extent of yielding zones and rock mass displacement/convergence. The results show that tunnel stability suffers when there is no rock support at all, while, it is significantly improved when the rock support system is installed. The optimum improvement is obtained when both shotcrete and rock bolts are employed together.

Objective:The present study aimed to evaluate the long-term results of combining spreader grafts with lateral suspension techniques for management of narrow internal nasal valves. Methods: This prospective study included 79 patients who underwent surgical interference for dysfunctional nasal valve. The surgical intervention was a combination of two commonly used techniques for management of internal nasal valve dysfunction: spreader graft insertion and lateral suspension of the upper lateral cartilages. The patients were assessed using the nasal obstruction symptom evaluation (NOSE) tool, computed tomography (CT) scans, and endoscopic examinations. Results: All patients reported initial improvement and satisfaction in nasal breathing. Seventy-two patients (91%) reported sustained relief of nasal breathing for at least 3 years postoperatively. The mean NOSE scores decreased from 69.8 to 20.65 postoperatively. The internal nasal valve angle, as measured endoscopically, increased from 7.23° to 13.05° on the right side and from 6.75° to 11.98° on the left side; the increase was statistically significant. The angle, as measured on axial CT scans, increased from 8.11° to 14.15° on the right side and from 6.98° to 12.13° on the left side’ this increase, too, was statistically significant. Conclusion: Combining spreader grafts with lateral suspension sutures provide good, stable, and sustained repair of dysfunctional narrowed internal nasal valves

The world is changing and pushing toward the improvement of the educational system which is moving forward with technology. This change in the educational system should be accompanied with the continual assurance of providing a quality of education service by the educational organization. Education could be provided by universities, schools and vocational schools or other academic institutions. One of the education service providers is the professional development training centres. Although a lot of research papers tackled the quality of education, however very little research discussed the quality of training services provided by training centres. This article attempts to specify the ten innovation parameters that could affect the quality of education and the business model in the training centres. It also shed the light on the quality score that could be used by different stakeholders as a tool to pre-assess the quality educational level provided by the professional development training centres.
