Integration of orthophotomap, digital terrain model and vector layers of forest digital map

    No full text
Different GIS data and products are created for forest districts. Among other are orthophotomaps and digital terrain model data, which may be used in forestry independently or in integrated forms. Geomatics offers software for data integration in the form of 3D visualization on the computer screen. 3D visualization contains information that allows using it for forest education, forest management and in public relation for purposes of the State Forests National Forest Holding. The paper discuses features of 3D visualization of integrated geomatics data, which are orthophotomaps, digital terrain model data and vector layers

Rough sets and the possibility of their use in forestry

    No full text
The need for effective management of uncertainty and incomplete information is the main factor of interest in the rough set theory and multi−use methods of analysis based on this theory, both in scientific research and in solving practical problems. Rough sets can be used for processing of both non spatial and spatial data. Five areas of application of rough set in decision−support systems in forestry and forest research are presented in the study. The example of using rough sets methods for data processing in order to determine cause−effect relationships and making classification is also presented

Fractal dimension as a tool for description of forest structure complexity

    No full text
The paper describes the procedure of calculation of surface fractal dimension based on using raster datasets: preprocessed LIDAR data. The procedure was used to assess the surface complexity of forest stand canopy. Relationships between size of the pixels of raster image and fractal dimension of canopy surface presented on that image were recognized. Dependence of fractal dimension on age and species composition of a stand was also found

FT-IR studies of zeolites from different structural groups

    No full text
W pracy przedstawiono wyniki badań FT-IR zeolitów (głównie naturalnych) należących do siedmiu głównych grup strukturalnych. The paper presents the results of FT-IR studies of zeolites (mainly natural) belonging to the seven major structural groups. Interpretation of vibrational spectra has been based on the identification of the bands associated with typical SBU vibrations. On the grounds of the previous works [4, 5], in which, based on ab initio calculations, visualization of vibration obtained for the structural units composed of single and double 4- and 6-membered rings had been analyzed, the bands have been assigned. Identification of these bands provides information related to the construction of the aluminosilicate framework of zeolites as well as about influence of exchangeable cations on the spectra

Poncelet’s porism in transformation group framework

    No full text
In this paper we introduce a transformation group connected with Poncelet’s porism. Several open questions following from our considerations end the paper. The aim of this paper is to give a new approach to find an algebraic Fuss-type formula for all natural n>2. Developed method may be applied to investigations of Poncelet’s porism
