Production of doubly charged vector bilepton pairs at γγ\gamma \gamma colliders

The production of pairs of doubly charged vector bileptons is studied at future γγ\gamma \gamma colliders. The unpolarized cross--section for the γγ→Y−−Y++\gamma \gamma \to Y^{--}Y^{++} subprocess is analytically calculated and convoluted to predict the number of events in the complete e+e−→γγ→Y−−Y++e^+e^-\to \gamma \gamma \to Y^{--}Y^{++} process. The gauge or non--gauge character of the vector bilepton Y±±Y^{\pm \pm} is discussed. It is found that as a consequence of its spectacular signature, as it decays dominantly into two identical charged leptons, and also due to its charge contents, which significantly enhance the cross--section, the detection of this class of particles with mass in the sub--TeV region can be at the reach of these colliders. The model--independent nature of our results is stressed.Comment: 9 pages, 7 figures, submitted to physical review

Outcome from Spontaneous CP Violation for B Decays

In the aspon model solution of the strong CPCP problem, there is a gauged U(1)U(1) symmetry, spontaneously broken by the same vacuum expectation value which breaks CPCP, whose massive gauge boson provides an additional mechanism of weak CPCP violation. We calculate the CPCP asymmetries in BB decays for the aspon model and show that they are typically smaller than those predicted from the standard model. A linear relation between the CPCP asymmetries of different decay processes is obtained.Comment: REVTEX, 9 pages, IFP-486-UNC, NSF-PT-94-1, and UDHEP-01-9

Classification of SUSY and non-SUSY Chiral Models from Abelian Orbifolds AdS/CFT

We classify compactifications of the type IIB superstring on AdS_{5} x S^{5}/\Gamma, where \Gamma is an abelian group of order n<= 12. Appropriate embedding of \Gamma in the isometry of S^5 yields both SUSY and non-SUSY chiral models that can contain the minimal SUSY standard model or the standard model. New non-SUSY three family models with \Gamma=Z_8 are introduced, which lead to the right Weinberg angle for TeV trinification.Comment: 12 pages, no figur

Mersenne Primes, Polygonal Anomalies and String Theory Classification

It is pointed out that the Mersenne primes Mp=(2p−1)M_p=(2^p-1) and associated perfect numbers Mp=2p−1Mp{\cal M}_p=2^{p-1}M_p play a significant role in string theory; this observation may suggest a classification of consistent string theories.Comment: 10 pages LaTe

3-3-1 exotic quark search at CERN LEPII-LHC

    Get PDF
The 3-3-1 electroweak model is the simplest chiral extension of the standard model which predicts single and double charged bileptons and exotic quarks carrying -4/3 and 5/3 units of the positron charge. In this paper we study the possibilities of the production and decay of one of these exotic quarks at CERN LEPII-LHC collider. For typical vector bilepton, exotic quark masses and mixing angles we obtained between 20 and 750 events per year. Angular distributions are also presented.Comment: 5 pages, RevTex 3.1, 9 eps figures, to appear in Phys. Rev.

Partial Derivation of Transformation Properties of Quarks and Leptons

Under the assumptions that SU(3)c×U(1)Y×G′SU(3)_c\times U(1)_Y \times G^{\prime} with G′G^{\prime} simple is a local symmetry group at high energies, that color is parity-conserving, and the Y-charges are irreducible, we show that anomaly constraints imply the minimal set of fermions is fifteen in number. Given this minimal set, we further show that G′G^{\prime} must be SU(2)SU(2) and the unbroken gauge symmetry is {\it either} color {\it or} the product of color with electric charge.Comment: 9 pages, UMDHEP 94-72 and IFP-487-UN

Muon anomalous magnetic moment in string inspired extended family models

    Get PDF
We propose a standard model minimal extension with two lepton weak SU(2) doublets and a scalar singlet to explain the deviation of the measured anomalous magnetic moment of the muon from the standard model expectation. This scheme can be naturally motivated in string inspired models such as E_6 and AdS/CFT.Comment: 9 pages, RevTeX, 2 figures, version to be published in Phys. Rev.

Horizontal Symmetry for Quark and Squark Masses in Supersymmetric SU(5)

    Get PDF
Recent interest in horizontal symmetry model building has been driven mainly by the large top mass and hence strong hierarchy in quark masses, and the possibility of appropriately constrained soft squark mass matrices, in place of an assumed universality condition, for satisfying the relevant FCNC constraints. Here we present the first successful SUSY-SU(5)SU(5) model that has such a feature. The horizontal symmetry is a gauged (Q12×U(1))H(Q_{12} \times U(1))_H (⊂(SU(2)×U(1))H\subset (SU(2) \times U(1))_H). All nonrenormalizable terms compatible with the symmetry are allowed in the mass matrix constructions. Charged lepton masses can also be accommodated.Comment: 15 pages, latex, 1 latex figure included version to be published in Phys. Rev. Correlations of the elements of the neutrino mass matrix

Assuming Majorana nature of neutrinos, we re-investigate, in the light of the recent measurement of the reactor mixing angle, the allowed ranges for the absolute values of the elements of the neutrino mass matrix in the basis where the charged-lepton mass matrix is diagonal. Apart from the derivation of upper and lower bounds on the values of the matrix elements, we also study their correlations. Moreover, we analyse the sensitivity of bounds and correlations to the global fit results of the neutrino oscillation parameters which are available in the literature.Comment: 37 pages, 146 figures, minor corrections, 17 additional figures, version for publication in JHE
