    Gravitational anomaly and fundamental forces

I present an argument, based on the topology of the universe, why there are three generations of fermions. The argument implies a preferred gauge group of SU(5), but with SO(10) representations of the fermions. The breaking pattern SU(5) to SU(3)xSU(2)xU(1) is preferred over the pattern SU(5) to SU(4)xU(1). On the basis of the argument one expects an asymmetry in the early universe microwave data, which might have been detected already.Comment: Contribution to the 2nd School and Workshop on Quantum Gravity and Quantum Geometry. General covariance violation and the gravitational dark matter. I. Scalar graviton

The violation of the general covariance is proposed as a resource of the gravitational dark matter. The minimal violation of the covariance to the unimodular one is associated with the massive scalar graviton as the simplest representative of such a matter. The Lagrangian formalism for the continuous medium, the perfect fluid in particular, in the scalar graviton environment is developed. The implications for cosmology are shortly indicated.Comment: 11 pages; minor correction

Heavy Fermion Screening Effects and Gauge Invariance

We show that the naively expected large virtual heavy fermion effects in low energy processes may be screened if the process under consideration contains external gauge bosons constrained by gauge invariance. We illustrate this by a typical example of the process γγbbˉ\gamma\gamma\to b \bar{b}. Phenomenological implications are also briefly indicated.Comment: a miss-print fixed, 7 pages, LaTex, no figure

Electroweak corrections to γZ\gamma Z production at hadron colliders

    Get PDF
In this paper we present the results from a calculation of the full electroweak one-loop corrections for γZ\gamma Z vector-boson pair production at hadron colliders. The cases of proton--antiproton as well as proton--proton collisions, at the Tevatron and the LHC, respectively, are considered. Results are presented for the distribution of the γZ\gamma Z invariant mass and for the transverse momentum of the final-state photon. The higher-order electroweak effects are numerically significant, in particular for probing possible anomalous gauge-boson couplings
