Medicinal herbs are significant source of pharmaceutical drugs. Latest trends have shown increasing demand of phytodrugs and some medicinal herbs have proven hepatotprotective potential. Inflammation describes a coordinated series of molecular, cellular, tissue, organ, and systemic responses that drive the pathology of various diseases Inflammation is a finely tuned, dynamic, highly-regulated process that is not inherently detrimental, but rather required for immune surveillance, optimal post-injury tissue repair, and regeneration. The inflammatory response is driven by cytokines and chemokines and is partially propagated by damaged tissue-derived products (Damage-associated Molecular Patterns; DAMPĆ¢ā‚¬ā„¢s). DAMPs perpetuate inflammation through the release of proinflammatory cytokines, but may also inhibit anti-inflammatory cytokines

Ayurveda is an ancient science of life. It attributes primary aim towards prevention and health maintenance. Health promotion depends on toxin (Ama) free systems, restoration of cellular nutrition and maintenance of balance of Doshas. The major preventive approaches for maintaining and improving the quality of life includes individualized specific daily regimen (Dinacharya), seasonal regimen (Rutucharya), behavioral and ethical consideration (Sadvrittas). Healthy lifestyle is emphasized as the determinant of longevity of life which depends on the Prakriti (bio-identity i.e. body - mind constitution) of an individual. Prakriti is an important concept of Ayurveda. Prakriti is a combination of Physical, Physiological and Psychological characteristics of an individual. In Ayurveda concept of personality and beauty is expressed in terms of Prakriti, Sara and Anguli Praman etc. Variation in skin characteristics are also mentioned in Ayurveda as per dominant Deha Prakriti. Day by day cosmetic field is gaining wide importance along with its increased demand. On other hand skin problems are also increasing which causes damage to skin due to overuse or misuse of cosmetics. It requires knowledge of cosmetic science along with Prakriti while choosing any cosmetics otherwise random use of any cosmetics may cause adverse effect on skin. Awareness about Prakriti gives guideline by suggesting Aahar vihar and lifestyle modification according to Prakriti so that one can maintain skin health. The main aim of this study is to provide awareness to healthy individuals about role of Prakriti while selecting skin care cosmetics products. For this study literature collection is done from various Samhita Granths, cosmetic books, thesis research work of related topics, and current research papers

A cross-sectional study to assess the drug utilization pattern and pharmacotherapeutic adherence among patients with schizophrenia and quality of life of patientā€™s caregiver in a tertiary care teaching hospital

Background: Schizophrenia is a chronic severe psychiatric illness affecting nearly 0.4 to 1.4% of people in India. Many newer anti-psychotic drugs are used now-a-days in schizophrenia. Poor adherence to the treatment given to patients of schizophrenia is observed very often. Although, the quality of life of schizophrenia patients is very much compromised; at the same time, quality of life of the caregiver is also compromised. Methods: A cross-sectional Observational study was conducted among patients already diagnosed with Schizophrenia and on treatment, after ethical approval. Data relevant to study variables was collected in a pre-designed case record form. Evaluation of drug utilization pattern was done by WHO core drug prescribing indicators. Medication adherence was assessed through modified Morisky scale. Quality of life of relative or caregiver was assessed through WHO-QOL BREF questionnaire scale. Results: Patients of 18 years and above were enrolled. Among them, average age was 35.8Ā±5.5 years. In my study, female patients were 64.7% and male patients were 35.3%. Average number of drugs per prescription was 3.8. Drugs prescribed by generic name were around 86.2%. Around 56.9% of drugs were prescribed from national list of essential medicines. Atypical antipsychotics were prescribed in 32% of all prescriptions for Schizophrenia; Whereas Benzodiazepines were prescribed in 19% of all prescriptions. Average Medication adherence score using MMS scale was 3.7Ā±2.2. Patients with high adherence to the medications prescribed were nearly 71% and patients with low adherence to the medications prescribed were 29%. Mean total WHOQOL-BREF score was 75.2Ā±6.5 out of 120. Conclusions: Most prescribed class of drugs was atypical anti-psychotics. Pharmacotherapeutic adherence among patients with schizophrenia was relatively high. Quality of life of patientsā€™ relative or caregiver was impaired to some extent, more impaired in physical health and social relationships domain

Random matrix ensemble with random two-body interactions in presence of a mean-field for spin one boson systems

For mm number of bosons, carrying spin (SS=1) degree of freedom, in Ī©\Omega number of single particle orbitals, each triply degenerate, we introduce and analyze embedded Gaussian orthogonal ensemble of random matrices generated by random two-body interactions that are spin (S) scalar [BEGOE(2)-S1S1]. The embedding algebra is U(3)āŠƒGāŠƒG1āŠ—SO(3)U(3) \supset G \supset G1 \otimes SO(3) with SO(3) generating spin SS. A method for constructing the ensembles in fixed-(mm, SS) space has been developed. Numerical calculations show that the form of the fixed-(mm, SS) density of states is close to Gaussian and level fluctuations follow GOE. Propagation formulas for the fixed-(mm, SS) space energy centroids and spectral variances are derived for a general one plus two-body Hamiltonian preserving spin. In addition to these, we also introduce two different pairing symmetry algebras in the space defined by BEGOE(2)-S1S1 and the structure of ground states is studied for each paring symmetry.Comment: 22 pages, 6 figure

The paper discusses the synthesis, characterisation, and performance evaluation of diarylfuroxans namely, bis-phenyl-3,4-furoxan (5) and bis-(4ā€™-nitrophenyl)-3,4-furoxan (6). Themolecules have been synthesised on the lines of reported method by cyclodimerisation of thenitrile oxides generated from benzaldoxime and p-nitro benzaldoxime, respectively. The synthesisedfuroxans (5 ) and (6) were characterised by the elemental analysis, UV, IR, and 1H NMRspectroscopy. The hazard characteristics (impact and friction sensitivity) confirm that thecompounds are safe to handle. The oxygen balance, velocity of detonation and detonationpressure have been computed. The detonation velocity and pressure along with oxygen balanceincreased with the substitution of nitro group in the benzene ring, as expected. Thethermogravimetric studies on promising compound (6) brings out that maximum weight lossoccurs at decomposition temperature of 259ā€“260 Ā°C

Higher order antibunching is not a rare phenomenon

Since the introduction of higher order nonclassical effects, higher order squeezing has been reported in a number of different physical systems but higher order antibunching is predicted only in three particular cases. In the present work, we have shown that the higher order antibunching is not a rare phenomenon rather it can be seen in many simple optical processes. To establish our claim, we have shown it in six wave mixing process, four wave mixing process and in second harmonic generation process.Comment: 6 pages, no figure, Latex 2
