    Radiolabelling of antibodies depends on a number of factors including the chemical characteristics of the nuclide and the techniques employed for its incorporation into protein. For preliminary research we used model system and investigate the influence of different factors affecting labelling.     Effects of dietary soybean, flaxseed and rapeseed oil addition on broilers meat quality

    The aim of this paper is was to investigate the effects of soybean oil, flax and rapeseed oil on the body weight, fatty acid composition of lipids and sensory characteristics of chicken breast meat. At the beginning, six groups with 40 one day old chicks Cobb 500 hybrid line, with five replications was formed. Chickens were fed with three mixtures of 21, 20 and 18% protein, respectively. The experiment lasted 42 days. The use of different types of oils in the diet did not exhibited statistically significant (P>0.05) differences in body weight of chickens. The control group achieved final body weight of 2704 g and 2695 g, and the experimental groups in a row 2735, 2645, 2735 and 2670g. The use of flax oil and rapeseed oil changes the fatty acid composition of lipids. Replacing rapeseed with soybean oil reduces the percentage of palmitic, stearic and linoleic acids, and increases the share of oleic and linolenic acids in the abdominal fat pad. The inclusion of flax oil in the diet of chickens in an amounts of 4% and 8% increase the amount of linoleic acid to 63% and 203%, which was statistically highly significant (P<0.01) difference compare to the control groups I and II, whereas the amount of linoleic acid is reduced by 14% and 33%. Dietary addition of vegetable oils in this experiment did not show any improvement of chicken breast meat sensory quality, but lipids of meat was improved with the higher levels of PUFAs which contributes to a higher quality of gained chicken meat

    Rabies is a disease that occurs both in animals and people, with relatively long period of incubation, intense clinical course and fatal ending. Majority of cases of illnes and death in people are caused by the standard rabies virus. According to books of regulations on suppression and eradiction of rabies from 1988. and 2009., each suspected rabies has to be laboratory confirmed. From 2006. to 2012. within the passive surveilance, 3549 samples of brain tissue were examined for the presence of rabies virus. The virus was confirmed in 923 samples by using the method of direct imunofluorescence. From 2006. to 2012. there were diagnosed 192, 160, 233, 181, 104, 43 and 10 positive cases, respectively. For the purpose of rabies eradiction at the territory of the Republic of Serbia, a regional project of oral vaccination of foxes against rabies has been implemented since 2010.Within monitoring of the effectiveness of oral vaccination against rabies which was carried out at the end of 2011. and at the beginning of 2012., there were examined 1385 samples, out of which 11 reacted positively. The virus was dominantly present in the fox population. During 2008. and 2009., a relatively large number of rabid cats was registered, what indicates a transmission of rabies from the fox to the cat population. The incidence of rabies at the territory of Serbia significantly differs from one epizootic area to another. Northern parts of the country (Sombor and Subotica epizootic regions) have more favorable situation with only two cases of rabies for the last 7 years. In the period until 2010., in Pozarevac, Novi Sad, Jagodina, Pancevo, Belgrade and Nis epizootic region, a gradual decline in number of positive cases was noticed. International project for oral vaccination of foxes against rabies which has been implemented at the territory of the Republic of Serbia and neighboring countries, influenced a significant reduction of registered rabies cases.Besnilo je bolest životinja i ljudi koja se odlikuje relativno dugim inkubacionim periodom i dramatičnim kliničkim tokom, koji se uvek završava smrtnim ishodom. Najveći broj slučajeva oboljenja i smrti ljudi potiče od infekcije klasičnim virusom besnila. Prema pravilnicima koji se bave suzbijanjem i iskorenjivanjem besnila iz 1988. i 2009. godine obavezna je laboratorijska potvrda svake klinički opravdane sumnje na besnilo. Od 2006. do 2012. godine u okviru pasivnog nadzora pregledano je 3549 uzoraka moždanog tkiva na prisustvo virusa besnila. Metodom direktne imunofluorescencije virus je dokazan u 923 uzoraka. Po godinama, od 2006. do 2012. godine dijagnostikovano je 192, 160, 233, 181, 104, 43 i 10 pozitivnih slučajeva. U cilju iskorenjivanja besnila na teritoriji Republike Srbije od 2010. godine se sprovodi regionalni projekat oralne vakcinacije lisica protiv besnila. U okviru monitoringa efikasnosti oralne vakcinacije lisica protiv besnila koji je sprovođen krajem 2011. i početkom 2012. godine ispitano je 1385 uzoraka od čega je 11 reagovalo pozitivno. Virus je dominantno prisutan u populaciji lisica. Tokom 2008. i 2009. godine dijagnostikavan je relativno veliki broj besnih mačaka, što ukazuje na prenos virusa iz populacije lisica u populaciju mačaka. Incidencija besnila na teritoriji Srbije se značajno razlikuje od jednog do drugog epizootiološkog područja. Severni delovi zemlje (somborsko i subotičko epizotiološko područje) imaju povoljniju epizootiološku situaciju (samo dva slučaja besnila u proteklih 7 godina). U periodu do 2010. godine na požarevačkom, novosadskom, jagodinskom, pančevačkom, beogradskom i niškom epizootiološkom području se uočava postepeni pad broja pozitivnih slučajeva. Međunarodni projekat oralne vakcinacije lisica protiv besnila koji se sprovodi na teritoriji Republike Srbije i okolnih zemalja uticao je na to da se broj prijavljenih slučajeva besnila u Srbiji drastično smanji

    Quantum virial expansion approach to thermodynamics of 4^4He adsorbates in carbon nanotube materials: Interacting Bose gas in one dimension

    I demonstrate that 4^4He adsorbates in carbon nanotube materials can be treated as one-dimensional interacting gas of spinless bosons for temperatures below 8 K and for coverages such that all the adsorbates are in the groove positions of the carbon nanotube bundles. The effects of adsorbate-adsorbate interactions are studied within the scheme of virial expansion approach. The theoretical predictions for the specific heat of the interacting adsorbed gas are given.Comment: 5 PS figure

    Particle size analysis: (90)Y and (99m)Tc-labelled colloids

    Colloidal particle size is an important characteristic to consider when choosing a radiopharmaceutical for diagnosis and therapeutic purposes in nuclear medicine. Photon correlation spectroscopy (PCS) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used to determine the particle-size distribution of (90)Y- and (99m)Tc-labelled antimony trisulfide (Sb(2)S(3)) and tin colloids (Sn-colloid). (90)Y-Sb(2)S(3) and (99m)Tc-Sb(2)S(3) were found to have a diameter of 28.92 +/- 0.14 and 35.61 +/- 0.11 nm, respectively, by PCS. By TEM, (90)Y-Sb(2)S(3) particles were measured to be 14.33 +/- 0.09 nm. (90)Y-labelled Sn colloid were found to exist with a d(v(max1)) of 805 nm and a d(v(max2)) of 2590 nm, by PCS, whereas (99m)Tc-Sn colloid was shown to have more than 80% of radioactive particles of approximately 910 nm by PCS. For (90)Y-labelled Sb(2)S(3) and Sn colloid, a comparison of TEM and PCS indicates that these techniques found significantly different mean diameters. TEM has an excellent resolution necessary for radiocolloid particle-sizing analysis, and it is a desirable size-measuring technique because it is more reliable than PCS

    Centrality and rapidity dependence of inclusive jet production in root(NN)-N-S=5.02 TeV proton-lead collisions with the ATLAS detector

    Measurements of the centrality and rapidity dependence of inclusive jet production in root(NN)-N-S = 5.02 TeV proton-lead (p + Pb) collisions and the jet cross-section in root s = 2.76 TeV proton-proton collisions are presented. These quantities are measured in datasets corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 27.8 nb(-1) and 4.0 pb(-1), respectively, recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider in 2013. The p + Pb collision centrality was characterised using the total transverse energy measured in the pseudorapidity interval -4.9 LT eta LT -3.2 in the direction of the lead beam. Results are presented for the double-differential per-collision yields as a function of jet rapidity and transverse momentum (p(T)) for minimum-bias and centrality-selected p + Pb collisions, and are compared to the jet rate from the geometric expectation. The total jet yield in minimum-bias events is slightly enhanced above the expectation in a p(T)-dependent manner but is consistent with the expectation within uncertainties. The ratios of jet spectra from different centrality selections show a strong modification of jet production at all p(T) at forward rapidities and for large pT at mid-rapidity, which manifests as a suppression of the jet yield in central events and an enhancement in peripheral events. These effects imply that the factorisation between hard and soft processes is violated at an unexpected level in proton-nucleus collisions. Furthermore, the modifications at forward rapidities are found to be a function of the total jet energy only, implying that the violations may have a simple dependence on the hard parton-parton kinematics.     Search for W - GT tb - GT qqbb decays in pp collisions at root s=8 TeV with the ATLAS detector

    A search for a massive W gauge boson decaying to a top quark and a bottom quark is performed with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at the LHC. The datasetwas taken at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 8 TeV and corresponds to 20.3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity. This analysis is done in the hadronic decay mode of the top quark, where novel jet substructure techniques are used to identify jets from high-momentum top quarks. This allows for a search for high-mass W bosons in the range 1.5-3.0 TeV. b-tagging is used to identify jets originating from b-quarks. The data are consistent with Standard Model background-only expectations, and upper limits at 95% confidence level are set on the W - GT tb cross section times branching ratio ranging from 0.16 pb to 0.33 pb for left-handed W bosons, and ranging from 0.10 pb to 0.21 pb for W bosons with purely righthanded couplings. Upper limits at 95% confidence level are set on the W-boson coupling to tb as a function of the W mass using an effective field theory approach, which is independent of details of particular models predicting a W boson

    Search for the b(b)over-bar decay of the Standard Model Higgs boson in associated (W/Z)H production with the ATLAS detector

    A search for the b (b) over bar decay of the Standard Model Higgs boson is performed with the ATLAS experiment using the full dataset recorded at the LHC in Run 1. The integrated luminosities used are 4.7 and 20.3 fb(-1) from pp collisions at root s = 7 and 8 TeV, respectively. The processes considered are associated (WIZ)H production, where W - GT e nu/mu nu, Z - GT ee/mu mu, and Z - GT nu nu. The observed (expected) deviation from the backgroundonly hypothesis corresponds to a significance of 1.4 (2.6) standard deviations and the ratio of the measured signal yield to the Standard Model expectation is found to be mu = 0.52 +/- 0.32 (stat.) +/- 0.24 (syst.) for a Higgs boson mass of 125.36 GeV. The analysis procedure is validated by a measurement of the yield of (W/Z)Z production with Z - GT b (b) over bar in the same final states as for the Higgs boson search, from which the ratio of the observed signal yield to the Standard Model expectation is found to be 0.74 +/- 0.09 (stat.) +/- 0.14 (syst.)

    Search for squarks and gluinos with the ATLAS detector in final states with jets and missing transverse momentum using root s=8 TeV proton-proton collision data

    A search for squarks and gluinos in final states containing high-pT jets, missing transverse momentum and no electrons or muons is presented. The data were recorded in 2012 by the ATLAS experiment in root s = 8 TeV proton-proton collisions at the Large Hadron Collider, with a total integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb(-1). Results are interpreted in a variety of simplified and specific supersymmetry-breaking models assuming that R-parity is conserved and that the lightest neutralino is the lightest supersymmetric particle. An exclusion limit at the 95% confidence level on the mass of the gluino is set at 1330 GeV for a simplified model incorporating only a gluino and the lightest neutralino. For a simplified model involving the strong production of first- and second-generation squarks, squark masses below 850 GeV (440 GeV) are excluded for a massless lightest neutralino, assuming mass degenerate ( single light-flavour) squarks. In mSUGRA/CMSSM models with tan beta = 30, A(0) = -2m(0) and mu GT 0, squarks and gluinos of equal mass are excluded for masses below 1700 GeV. Additional limits are set for non-universal Higgs mass models with gaugino mediation and for simplified models involving the pair production of gluinos, each decaying to a top squark and a top quark, with the top squark decaying to a charm quark and a neutralino. These limits extend the region of supersymmetric parameter space excluded by previous searches with the ATLAS detector

    Measurements of the Nuclear Modification Factor for Jets in Pb plus Pb Collisions at root SNN=2.76 TeV with the ATLAS Detector

    Measurements of inclusive jet production are performed in pp and Pb + Pb collisions at root SNN = 2.76 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the LHC, corresponding to integrated luminosities of 4.0 and 0.14 nb(-1), respectively. The jets are identified with the anti-k(t) algorithm with R = 0.4, and the spectra are measured over the kinematic range of jet transverse momentum 32 LT pT LT 500 GeV and absolute rapidity |y| LT 2.1 and as a function of collision centrality. The nuclear modification factor R-AA is evaluated, and jets are found to be suppressed by approximately a factor of 2 in central collisions compared to pp collisions. The RAA shows a slight increase with pT and no significant variation with rapidity
