Objective: To evaluate the effect of home exercise program on shoulder pain and functional status in male construction workers. Methods: Study design was quasi-experimental study, subjects were 30 male construction workers, n=15 Group A (experimental) and n=15 Group B (control). Subjects in the experimental group were instructed in a 6 weeks home exercise program, Group B subjects were treated with only ergonomic advices. The outcome measurements were visual analog scale and shoulder pain and disability index. Results: The results of this study showed that significant reduction in pain and improvement in the functional status of construction workers in Group A than Group B.Conclusion: The study concluded that there was a significant reduction in shoulder pain and improvement in functional status by home exercise program than ergonomic advices in male construction workers

Objective: To examine the effectiveness of customized saddle pillow for pain in post-episiotomy patients and also to analyze the duration of sitting for breastfeeding and other functional activities following episiotomy. Methods: A total of 28 postnatal mothers who have undergone episiotomy were included in the study based on the inclusion criteria and were divided conveniently into an experimental group (n=16) and control group (n=12). Both the groups received the conventional physiotherapy protocol, but experimental group patients, in addition, were provided with customized saddle pillow. Customized saddle pillow was used by the patients from postnatal day (PND) 0 to PND 2. Pre- and post-test values for pain were assessed through the numerical pain rating scale (NPRS). In addition, data such as duration of sitting for breastfeeding and other functional activities were collected through sitting tracker. Results: The study manifested the effectiveness of low-cost customized saddle pillow in reducing perineal pain (p=0.01) and increase in sitting duration (p=0.01) in post-episiotomy patients compared to the control group. Conclusion: Among the postnatal mothers selected for the study the mothers who used customized saddle pillow experienced a reduction in pain as well as the better sitting duration for breastfeeding. The research recommends mothers who underwent episiotomy to use the low-cost saddle pillows for healthier breastfeeding and pain-free life

Objective: The objective of the study was to measure the anterior pelvic tilt for both males and females of low back pain patients. Methods: Observational type. Procedure: Totally, 120 subjects were approached. In that 70 were males and 50 were females. Using i@handyapplication in mobile anterior pelvic tilt was calculated among low back pain patients. Results: Anterior pelvic tilt was increased in low back pain patients (male - 14.15° and female - 16.26°). In that correlation between males and visualanalog scale (VAS) was not significant. However, there was a significant correlation found in female anterior pelvic tilt and VAS (p<0.01).Conclusion: This study concluded that there was an increase in anterior pelvic tilt among low back pain patients. Anterior pelvic tilt and VAS washighly correlated in females, not in males. Keywords: i@handy, Anterior pelvic tilt, Low back pain

Background: Gynaecological surgeries refer to surgery on the female reproductive system. Woman may undergo a Gynaecological surgery for different reasons, including; Uterine prolapse, Cancer of the uterus, cervix, or ovaries, Endometriosis, Bleeding, Adenomyosis etc.Gynaecological surgeries includes procedures such as hysterectomy, oopherectomy, salphingectomy, myomectomy, ovarin cystectomy, etc. The Physiotherapy referral is essential in such cases but most of time the patients are not referred for Physiotherapy. Hence the current study was undertaken. Thus the objective is to find out the Effectiveness of Physiotherapy management over quality of life in post-operative Gynaecological patients. Methods: 32 females who underwent Gynecological surgery were taken into the study and divided conveniently into Group A and Group B consisting of 16 females each. Physiotherapy intervention given to Group A includes- Breathing exercises, Coughing techniques, Circulatory exercises, Knee rolling, log rolling, patient made to sit, Abdominal exercises, Pelvic tilting, Getting in and out of the bed, Pelvic floor exercises and mobilization inside the ward, outside the ward and stair climbing where as conventional treatment which includes Breathing exercises and Back care were given to Group B for a period of 5 days. Outcome measures used were VAS (Visual Analog Scale) and ASIS (Abdominal Surgery Impact Scale). Results: There was a significant difference in post test score of VAS (p=0.0001) and ASIS (p=0.0001) in Group A as compared to Group B. Conclusion: This study revealed that physiotherapy intervention performed immediately after Gynecological surgery improves quality of life of the patients and a scheduled exercise program benefits the patient more than conventional Physiotherapy management and it should be emphasized to all the post Gynecological surgery Patients
