Advancing drought monitoring, prediction, and management capabilities: scientific workshop report
The India-UK Water Centre (IUKWC) promotes cooperation and collaboration between the complementary priorities of NERC-MoES water security research.
This report represents an overview of the participation, activities and conclusions of a Scientific Workshop held at Lancaster University, UK from the 18th to 20th September 2019, and convened
by Professor Peter M. Atkinson of Lancaster University and Dr Vishnubhotla C. Chakravarthi, University of Hyderabad, India. It outlines the Workshop itself, provides some explanation of the goals of the Workshop and shows how the Workshop was structured to ensure coverage of the key elements and support the greatest amount of discussion. The report also details the
delegates, the main topics covered by the delegates and the key points raised. Finally, the report gives the key themes arising from the discussion and some recommendations for the future.
The report is intended for the workshop participants, members of the India-UK Water Centre Open Network, and other policy, business and community stakeholders
