Medicinal plants to treat urinary tract infections in pharmacy users in the Tambo district

El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar el uso de plantas medicinales contra las infecciones de las vías urinarias por parte de los usuarios de farmacias del distrito del Tambo, por medio del cual se evaluó a 385 personas por medio de una encuesta. Esta investigación es del tipo cuantitativo, diseño descriptivo, transversal, no experimental. Las conclusiones fueron las siguientes: la planta más utilizada para el tratamiento de las infecciones de las vías urinarias es la Cola de Caballo con un 38,96%; seguido del Diente de León con un 16,88%; y otras especies con un 15.33% (arándanos, tomillo, eucalipto, entre otras, etc.). Asimismo, el 75% de los encuestados indicaron que las plantas medicinales que utilizaron para el tratamiento de las infecciones no presentaron ninguna reacción adversa.The objective of this study was to determine the use of medicinal plants against urinary tract infections by pharmacy users in the Tambo district, through which 385 people were evaluated by means of a survey. This is a quantitative, descriptive, transversal, non-experimental, descriptive design. The conclusions were the following: the most used plant for the treatment of urinary tract infections is Horsetail with 38.96%; followed by Dandelion with 16.88%; and other species with 15.33% (cranberries, thyme, eucalyptus, among others, etc.). Likewise, 75% of the respondents indicated that the medicinal plants they used for the treatment of infections did not present any adverse reaction
