Depressão em idosos: fatores associados e manejo terapêutico / Depression in the elderly: associated factors and therapeutic management
A depressão é um problema de saúde pública que afeta cerca de 154 milhões de pessoas em todo o mundo, com incidência crescente nos últimos anos. Diante dessa problemática, os idosos apresentam uma prevalência de 15% de sintomas de depressão, o que requer cuidados e intervenções preventivas. O objetivo deste artigo foi compreender o perfil da depressão em idosos, assim como o processo de prevenção e tratamento de sinais e sintomas. A metodologia utilizada foi o estudo bibliográfico, que se refere a um estudo integrativo desenvolvido a partir de materiais publicados em revistas cientificas, livros, manuais, boletins e sites oficiais de especialidades médicas. Os resultados mostraram idosos afetados por depressão, tipos de tratamento, dados sobre acesso a cuidados de saúde e coexistência de comorbidades. O estudo também destacou a importância de promover o autocuidado, ativando e engajando esse público e seus e familiares nas atividades educativas, além da valorização da educação profissional em saúde e ampliação da rede de cuidado a esses usuários. Concluiu-se que os profissionais de saúde que lidam com idosos devem estar atentos aos sinais e sintomas da depressão, além de realizar treinamento constante para fornecer uma assistência eficiente e eficaz, bem como indicar as melhores opções terapêuticas disponíveis
Autoimmune hepatitis in 828 Brazilian children and adolescents: clinical and laboratory findings, histological profile, treatments, and outcomes
In this large clinical series of Brazilian children and adolescents, autoimmunehepatitis-1 was more frequent, and patients with autoimmune hepatitis-2 exhibited higherdisease remission rates with earlier response to treatment. Patients with autoimmune hepatitis-1 had a higher risk of death.sentation, laboratory findings, histological profile, treatments, and outcomes of children andadolescents with autoimmune hepatitis.Methods: The medical records of 828 children and adolescents with autoimmune hepatitiswere reviewed. A questionnaire was used to collect anonymous data on clinical presentation,biochemical and histological findings, and treatments.Results: Of all patients, 89.6% had autoimmune hepatitis-1 and 10.4% had autoimmunehepatitis-2. The female sex was predominant in both groups. The median age at symptomonset was 111.5 (6; 210) and 53.5 (8; 165) months in the patients with autoimmune hepatitis1 and autoimmune hepatitis-2, respectively. Acute clinical onset was observed in 56.1% and58.8% and insidious symptoms in 43.9% and 41.2% of the patients with autoimmune hepatitis-1and autoimmune hepatitis-2, respectively. The risk of hepatic failure was 1.6-fold higher forautoimmune hepatitis-2. Fulminant hepatic failure occurred in 3.6% and 10.6% of the patientswith autoimmune hepatitis-1 and autoimmune hepatitis-2, respectively; the risk was 3.1-foldhigher for autoimmune hepatitis-2. The gamma globulin and immunoglobulin G levels were sig-nificantly higher in autoimmune hepatitis-1, while the immunoglobulin A and C3 levels werelower in autoimmune hepatitis-2. Cirrhosis was observed in 22.4% of the patients; biochem-ical remission was achieved in 76.2%. The actuarial survival rate was 93.0%. A total of 4.6%underwent liver transplantation, and 6.9% died (autoimmune hepatitis-1: 7.5%; autoimmunehepatitis-2: 2.4%).Conclusions: In this large clinical series of Brazilian children and adolescents, autoimmunehepatitis-1 was more frequent, and patients with autoimmune hepatitis-2 exhibited higherdisease remission rates with earlier response to treatment. Psoríase como fator de risco para doenças cardiovasculares: uma revisão da literatura / Psoriasis as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease: a literature review
A psoríase consiste em uma das doenças inflamatórias imunomediadas mais comuns em seres humanos, com prevalência variando de 0,11% a 8,5% na dependência da população analisada. A investigação da associação entre psoríase e fatores de risco para a saúde cardiovascular foi iniciada no último século e, desde então, pesquisas têm apresentado resultados variados. Entretanto, recentes meta-análises e estudos de coorte confirmaram que se trata de uma associação estatisticamente significativa. Os artigos utilizados nesta revisão bibliográfica foram pesquisados nas bases de dados National Library of Medicine (PubMED), Google Acadêmico e Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde (LILACS) e publicados entre os anos 2000 e 2021. Novas evidências científicas reforçam a existência de associação da psoríase com comorbidades que elevam o risco de o indivíduo desenvolver doenças cardiovasculares, incluindo componentes da síndrome metabólica, como diabetes, hipertensão arterial sistêmica, obesidade e dislipidemia. Em razão de a psoríase relacionar-se a um estado de inflamação sistêmica que gera repercussões no aparelho cardiovascular, é importante conscientizar os profissionais médicos sobre a aterosclerose em pacientes psoriáticos, para que intervenções terapêuticas precoces e medidas preventivas possam ser implementadas

While the increasing availability of global databases on ecological communities has advanced our knowledge
of biodiversity sensitivity to environmental changes,5–7 vast areas of the tropics remain understudied.8–11 In
the American tropics, Amazonia stands out as the world’s most diverse rainforest and the primary source of
Neotropical biodiversity,12 but it remains among the least known forests in America and is often underrepre sented in biodiversity databases.13–15 To worsen this situation, human-induced modifications16,17 may elim inate pieces of the Amazon’s biodiversity puzzle before we can use them to understand how ecological com munities are responding. To increase generalization and applicability of biodiversity knowledge,18,19 it is thus
crucial to reduce biases in ecological research, particularly in regions projected to face the most pronounced
environmental changes. We integrate ecological community metadata of 7,694 sampling sites for multiple or ganism groups in a machine learning model framework to map the research probability across the Brazilian
Amazonia, while identifying the region’s vulnerability to environmental change. 15%–18% of the most ne glected areas in ecological research are expected to experience severe climate or land use changes by

Volatile compounds and quality analysis in commercial medicinal plants of Camellia sinensis
ABSTRACT: The interest in the use of green tea (Camellia sinensis) (L.) Kuntze (Theaceae) products have increased in the last few years due to its medicinal properties. In the present study, we proposed that headspace solid phase microextraction, in combination with gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometric could be an efficient method to assess the volatile compounds and to ensure the quality control of C. sinensis. We have also compared the anatomical leaf of different commercial green tea samples, analyzed the information in their labels and determined the presence of foreign materials, moisture content, total ashes and microorganisms. Among the 30 analyzed samples, six were identified as C. sinensis according to the anatomical study; 83.4% were not in accordance with the specified limits for foreign matter and 6.6% for moisture content. All samples presented total ashes in accordance with the current legislation. The analysis indicated the presence of several different volatile organic compounds, being terpenes, hydrocarbons and alcohols the major ones. Microbiological analysis showed that 13.3% and 16.6% of the samples exceeded the limits for counts of molds and yeasts, and for mesophilic bacteria, respectively. 73.3% presented E. coli above the established sanitary limits

Este estudo com acompanhamento de longo prazo visou a avaliar o quadro clínico, os achados laboratoriais, o perfil histológico, os tratamentos e os resultados de crianças e adolescentes com hepatite autoimune. Foram analisados os prontuários médicos de 828 crianças e adolescentes com HAI. Foi usado um questionário para coletar os dados anônimos sobre o quadro clínico, os achados bioquímicos e histológicos e os tratamentos. De todos os pacientes, 89,6% tinham hepatite autoimune-1 e 10,4% hepatite autoimune-2. O sexo feminino foi predominante nos dois grupos. A idade média no início dos sintomas foi 111,5 (6; 210) e 53,5 (8; 165) meses nos pacientes com hepatite autoimune-1 e hepatite autoimune-2, respectivamente. Foi observado início clínico agudo em 56,1% e 58,8% e sintomas insidiosos em 43,9% e 41,2% dos pacientes com hepatite autoimune-1 e hepatite autoimune-2, respectivamente. A probabilidade de insuficiência hepática foi 1,6 vezes maior para hepatite autoimune-2; 3,6% e 10,6% dos pacientes com hepatite autoimune-1 e hepatite autoimune-2, respectivamente, apresentaram insuficiência hepática fulminante; o risco foi 3,1 vezes maior para hepatite autoimune-2. Os níveis de gamaglobulina e imunoglobulina G foram significativamente maiores nos pacientes com hepatite autoimune-1, ao passo que os níveis de imunoglobulina A e C3 foram menores em pacientes com hepatite autoimune-2; 22,4% dos pacientes apresentaram cirrose e a remissão bioquímica foi atingida em 76,2%. A taxa de sobrevida atuarial foi de 93,0%. Um total de 4,6% pacientes foram submetidos a transplante de fígado e 6,9% morreram (hepatite autoimune-1: 7,5%; hepatite autoimune-2: 2,4%). Nesta grande série clínica de crianças e adolescentes brasileiros, a hepatite autoimune-1 foi mais frequente e os pacientes com hepatite autoimune-2 mostraram maiores taxas de remissão da doença com respostas mais rápidas aos tratamentos.
