I documenti sonori della musica elettronica
Sound documents of electronic music
After a short introduction about the history of sound memory the transformations that were introduced by the birth of sound documents, which were brought also in society, especially within the electroacustic music repertoire, are described with a particular attention to the interaction of acoustical and electronic instruments, and therefore to the performance aspect. The magnetic tape is the object of work for the composer and for the performer. The study of the case that we are considering right now concerns the retrieval and restoration of tapes to set up a performance, such as A floresta è jovem e Cheja de vida by Luigi Nono, stored partly by the Editor Brand Ricordi in Milan and at the Luigi Nono Archive in Venice
Symbolic and Sub-symbolic Rules System for Real Time Score performance
Musicians' ability has an important role in music performance. What does it happen in computer music playing? In this paper a connessionist approach to the problem of computer music performance is proposed. A hybrid system for computer music automatic performance is showed. In this system, two sets of symbolic and sub-symbolic rules act in co-operation. We propose also some neural nets' models, which learn the performing style of a professional pianist. Some models and applications of neural nets (NNs), that we built, are discussed
