    The Journey to Project Management: Navigating the Transition from a NonProject Environment

    To facilitate a seamless transition from a non-project management environment to a project management environment, Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) passionately dedicated to their missions and operating with limited resources can establish a Project Management Office (PMO) as a pivotal organizational function. This PMO will collaborate closely with senior executives to devise a comprehensive strategic plan for this transformation. An essential component of this plan is the identification of dedicated representatives within key departments, including IT, HR, Human Services Program, and Learning & Development. These departmental representatives will serve as proactive Project Management advocates, responsible for initiating and executing the transition strategies, all while focusing on effective change management. The transition journey commences with equipping these representatives with essential skills, starting with proficiency in Microsoft Teams as a Project Management tool. The strategic plan developed by the PMO, in partnership with senior leadership, will outline clear objectives, milestones, timelines, and department-specific roles and responsibilities. It will also address potential challenges and strategies for risk mitigation. A pivotal aspect of this transition is the management of change, which involves engaging in proactive change management efforts, addressing resistance, communicating the benefits of the transition, and ensuring a smooth shift in organizational practices. As the transition progresses, the PMO will provide ongoing support, guidance, and regular monitoring, ensuring that the project management environment is effectively integrated into the organization. By continuously refining and optimizing the process through feedback loops and continuous improvement, the NPO can successfully evolve into a more structured, efficient, and mission-aligned entity

    Background and Aim: Prevalence of neck pain in nursing professionals (NPs) is much higher than in the general population. However, concrete evidence is not available regarding the efficacy of the therapeutic intervention for treating neck pain among them. The purpose of this study was to compare the efficacy of Mulligan's self-sustained natural apophyseal glides (SNAGs) and conventional physiotherapy in the management of work-related neck pain (WRNP) among the NPs. Materials and Methods: A total of 38 NPs with WRNP were recruited using the simple random sampling (lottery method) to participate in this two group such as pretest–posttest and single-blinded randomized controlled study from recognized tertiary care teaching hospital. Recruited NPs were randomly allocated into two groups such as Group A and Group B. NP in Group A taught self-SNAGs with a towel and instructed to perform 10 repetitions ×1 set/two hour ×4 times/day for 5 days/week ×2 weeks. Whereas in Group B, NPs received conventional physiotherapy treatment, consist of neck isometrics, and performed for 10 s ×10 repetitions ×1 set/day ×5 days/week ×2 weeks. Both groups were asked to use the hot pack for 15 min, before their intervention. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) score, neck disability index (NDI), and cervical range of motion (ROM) were documented at baseline, 2nd-week postintervention, and 4th-week follow-up period and analyzed. Results: Group A revealed statistical significance difference (P < 0.05) in VAS, NDI, and neck ROM when compared to Group B. Conclusion: Mulligan's self-SNAGs have proved to be more beneficial over the conventional physiotherapy in the management of WRNP among the NPs

    A Novel Drug Delivery System: Review on Microspheres

    Microspheres are multiparticulate drug delivery systems that are designed to deliver drugs to a particular location at a fixed rate. Microspheres are free-flowing powders made up of biodegradable proteins or synthetic polymers with particle sizes ranging from 1 to 1000µm. Benefits of the use of microspheres in fields such as drug delivery, bone tissue manufacturing, and the absorption and desorption of contaminants by regeneration. The study shows the method of planning and measurement of microsphere parameters. Microspheres are complex, such as bioadhesive microspheres, polymeric microspheres, magnetic microspheres, floating microspheres, radioactive microspheres. Microspheres may be used in various fields such as cosmetics, oral drug delivery, target drug delivery, ophthalmic drug delivery, gene delivery, and others listed in the study. In order to achieve optimal therapeutic effectiveness, it is important to deliver the agent to the target tissue at an optimum level within the right timeframe, resulting in little toxicity and minimal side effects. There are different approaches to supplying the medicinal drug to the target site in a continuous managed manner. One such strategy is the use of microspheres as drug carriers. In this article, the value of the microsphere is seen as a novel drug delivery carrier to achieve site-specific drug delivery was discussed.     Mucoadhesive Microspheres: A Targeted Drug Delivery System

    Carrier technology is a novel and groundbreaking drug delivery system. Microspheres transmit the drug by affixing it to carrier particle-like Microspheres, Nanoparticles and Liposomes due to their smaller size and other useful properties. Mucoadhesive Microspheres are an integral component of this multi-particle drug delivery system and play an important function in the delivery of a novel drug. This drug delivery improves the therapeutic effectiveness of the drug. Mucoadhesive microspheres have a longer duration of residence at the absorption site, which leads to the accuracy of the drug targeting at the absorption site and improves the therapeutic efficacy of the drug. Mucoadhesive microspheres are formed by either systemic or local effects in gastrointestinal, oral, vaginal, nasal, rectal, ocular delivery.     Harsh realities: Reasons for women\u27s involvement in sex work in India

    This study documents the reasons and processes for involvement of women into sex work in India. The study is based on in-depth interviews with a cross-section of commercial sex workers in four Indian states—Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It shows that most women enter sex work due to a complex set of reasons as opposed to any one single over-riding reason. While abject poverty was cited as the main cause by almost three-fourths of the women interviewed, lack of education, financial freedom, domestic violence, family responsibility, lack of support by family members and harassment and abuse in society and in the workplace, were other inter-linked factors facilitating involvement into sex work. Some women reported that they were pushed into sex work by deception or force by known or unknown persons. Many women who initiate sex work are not forced physically, but do so because of reasons over which they had little or no control. In this sense, initiation into sex work is far more complicated than a simple distinction of ‘voluntary’ and ‘involuntary’ as explained by other studies in India and around the world
