Introduction: The environment that surrounds people is changing, unpredictable and uncertain, so in the use of the neo cerebral cortex, heuristics gain prominence in decision making, which in the business field is important to know the influence of the same in the support seeking successful sales in the commercial sector. This is related to local economies and the circulation of capital, the growth of wealth for the benefit of people. Objectives: To determine if the owners use heuristics to procure sales and observe what they do to enhance the chances of success for the commercialization of the products. Methodology: The study was conducted in a quantitative exploratory manner of a transactional nature through a survey designed with constructs to obtain the data. Results: It was determined that 81.31% of the population chosen in the Cuba neighborhood of the city of Manta uses heuristics as a fundamental tool in decision-making and in application of the heuristic principles of representativeness, availability, adjustment, and anchoring given that 76.77% of the owners improve the situation by having formal education. Conclusions: The owners do use heuristics, consciously or not, in an effort to sustain the operation of their businesses. At the same time, it was possible to observe that the behaviors obtained are of a fractal nature, which leads to continue exploring new polygons and that better strategies are determined to promote local economies based on trade, useful information for educational institutions, local governments, and private entrepreneurs.

Productive Performance of Growing Cattle Grazing a Silvopastoral System with \u3cem\u3eLeucaena leucocephala\u3c/em\u3e

In tropical regions, the feeding of cattle is usually based on the grazing of medium to low quality grasses. Low fertility of soils, changing climatic conditions and the poor management of pastures, have further reduced the quality and forage yield of pastures. The low availability and quality of grasses gives modest weight gains for grazing cattle and this in-turn causes low economical efficiency of cattle production systems (Campos et al. 2011). Silvopastoral systems represent a sustainable option for meat and milk production in the tropics. The association of grasses with legumes such as Leucaena leucocephala (leucaena) supply forage with high concentration of crude protein (Barros et al. 2012). There are reports in the scientific literature which show that intake of leucaena can result in good rates of growth in cattle (e.g. Shelton and Dalzell 2007); however the presence of the free amino acid mimosine and its metabolites (3,4-DHP and 2,3-DHP) in leucaena when the anaerobic bacteria Synergistes jonesii (Allison et al. 1992) is absent from the rumen, may induce subclinical toxicity in grazing ruminants (Graham 2007; Dalzell et al. 2012; Phaikaew et al. 2012). There are no reports in Mexico regarding the rate of growth of cattle grazing silvopastoral systems with leucaena. The aim of the present work was to evaluate the rate of growth of cattle grazing an association of Panicum maximum and leucaena compared to that of cattle fed a high grain ration (feedlot)

Targeting the gut microbiota with dietary fibers: a novel approach to prevent the development cardiovascular complications linked to systemic lupus erythematosus in a preclinical study.

This study is to investigate whether dietary fiber intake prevents vascular and renal damage in a genetic mouse model of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and the contribution of gut microbiota in the protective effects. Female NZBWF1 (SLE) mice were treated with resistant-starch (RS) or inulin-type fructans (ITF). In addition, inoculation of fecal microbiota from these experimental groups to recipient normotensive female C57Bl/6J germ-free (GF) mice was performed. Both fiber treatments, especially RS, prevented the development of hypertension, renal injury, improved the aortic relaxation induced by acetylcholine, and the vascular oxidative stress. RS and ITF treatments increased the proportion of acetate- and butyrate-producing bacteria, respectively, improved colonic inflammation and integrity, endotoxemia, and decreased helper T (Th)17 proportion in mesenteric lymph nodes (MLNs), blood, and aorta in SLE mice. However, disease activity (splenomegaly and anti-ds-DNA) was unaffected by both fibers. T cell priming and Th17 differentiation in MLNs and increased Th17 infiltration was linked to aortic endothelial dysfunction and hypertension after inoculation of fecal microbiota from SLE mice to GF mice, without changes in proteinuria and autoimmunity. All these effects were lower in GF mice after fecal inoculation from fiber-treated SLE mice. In conclusion, these findings support that fiber consumption prevented the development of hypertension by rebalancing of dysfunctional gut-immune system-vascular wall axis in SLE.This work was supported by Grants from Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain (MCIN) (Ref. Sympathetically cooled highly charged ions in a radio-frequency trap with superconducting magnetic shielding

    Get PDF
We sympathetically cool highly charged ions (HCI) in Coulomb crystals of Doppler-cooled Be+ ions confined in a cryogenic linear Paul trap that is integrated into a fully enclosing radio-frequency resonator manufactured from superconducting niobium. By preparing a single Be+ cooling ion and a single HCI, quantum logic spectroscopy toward frequency metrology and qubit operations with a great variety of species are enabled. While cooling down the assembly through its transition temperature into the superconducting state, an applied quantization magnetic field becomes persistent, and the trap becomes shielded from subsequent external electromagnetic fluctuations. Using a magnetically sensitive hyperfine transition of Be+ as a qubit, we measure the fractional decay rate of the stored magnetic field to be at the 10−10 s−1 level. Ramsey interferometry and spin-echo measurements yield coherence times of >400 ms, demonstrating excellent passive magnetic shielding at frequencies down to DC

Neuropathic Pain in Dogs and Cats: Current Evaluation and Treatment Perspectives: Review

    Get PDF
Abstract: During the past decade, the number of scientific papers on the recognition and multimodal management of pain in small animals increased exponentially. However, the variable of neuropathic pain, or adaptive disorder, has not yet been characterized completely. Its genesis is related to several diseases and injuries of the nervous system that change the neuroanatomical structures that participate in pain processing. Finding novel neurobiological mechanisms and the development of techniques for diagnosis and treatment in Human Medicine, are opening great opportunities for research and the understanding of neuropathic pain in pets
