Not AvailableA Lentinus specimen collected from one of the eastern states of India was identified as L. connatus belonging to section Taber-regium due to the large centrally stipitate basidioma with non-inflated generative hyphae, entire lamellae edge and cylindrical spores. A phylogenetic analysis was done using NCBI phylogenetic tools using fast minimum evolution method. The tree produced showed that the specimen is closely associated with L. tuber-regium. However, the specimen was taxonomically identified as L. connatus (Berk.) and prior there were no sequences submitted to NCBI database for this species which has now the NCBI submission ID 1802862. Lentinus connatus was successfully cultivated on mixed saw dust collected from broad leave trees. Nutritional analysis revealed that L. connatus contained 30.14 % protein, 59.85 % carbohydrate and 0.86 % fat.Vitamin A, C, and D-2 were present in appreciable quantities. This mushroom showed 57.9, 62.0 and 1.3 % ferric ion scavenging, reducing activity, and DPPH radical scavenging activity. Not Availabl

Four doses of Gonopro-FH i.e. 0.2(T1 ), 0.3(T2 ), 0.4(T3 ) and 0.5(T4 ) ml/ kg body weight were tried. All the brooders at different dose of Gonopro-FH were bred successfully. There was no significance (p<0.05) difference observed in relative fecundity between all the treatments. The relative fecundity was highest with hormonal dose of 0.4 ml/kg (T3 ) of Gonopro-FH. However, fertilization rate was significantly (p>0.05) highest with 0.2 ml/kg dose of Gonopro-FH. Latency period and hatching rate were significantly higher in T1 (0.2 ml/kg) and lowest in T4 (0.5ml/kg). From the present study it can be suggested that the hormonal (Gonopro-FH) dose of 0.2 ml/kg is most suitable for enhancing the hatching rate and fertilization percent of Labeo rajasthanicus. Not Availabl

Pure culture was prepared by tissue culture on Malt-extract-agar (MEA) medium at 25C±2C. The specimen was studied for its identification, taxonomy and phylogeny and identified as Lentinus sajor-caju by morphological and microscopical studies. The identification was confirmed through ITS 5.8S rDNA sequencing and sequence analysis. Its cultivation was done on saw dust and wheat bran. The fruit bodies were obtained at a temperature of 28±2°C and 80-85% RH. The cultivated Lentinus sajor-caju fruit bodies were analysed for nutritional and biological properties and observed that the cultivated mushroom has good nutritional properties while antioxidant, reducing and DPPH free radical scavenging properties are comparable to commercially cultivated Lentinula edodes strains. Not Availabl

Complications after posterior dislocation of the hip

Thirty-five consecutive patients with unilateral posterior dislocation of the hip were studied for complications at an average follow-up of 4.6 years (range 2–10 years). Thompson–Epstein type IV dislocation was most frequent (10/35), reflecting an increase in high-speed motor vehicles in the developing countries. It is also a severe injury that leads to a maximum number of complications, which include avascular necrosis, osteoarthosis, sciatic nerve injury and heterotrophic ossification. Avascular necrosis and osteoarthritis of the hip were observed maximally in type IV patients, even when reduction was achieved in less than twelve hours and may reflect the severity of initial injury. Heterotrophic ossification was observed in five of the ten patients with type IV dislocation and was associated with multiple attempts at reduction. Sciatic nerve injury did not recover completely in all cases, especially when reduction was delayed over twelve hours. Observing that the greatest numbers of complications were seen among patients with type IV dislocations, it may be prudent to warn such individuals about the likely prognosis at the outset, especially in today’s world when the demands and expectations are high
