Information Seek and Retrieval Mechanisms Based on Interactive Dynamics Linking Technology

    Get PDF
The paper discusses the approach to dynamic hypertext technology used for query expansion and development. Two schemes of links creation on the fly are presented. The first one, System controlled scheme, generates (computes) hypertext links on retrieved documents output phase. In the second one, User controlled scheme, terms in viewed document are highlighted (and can be further used as a query in selected resource by one click) in accordance with user profile. The link creation mechanism is specified parametrically through the specification of the resource and selected (i.e. controlled) by the user. Linking mechanism is considered as a component of IR&S process, well controlled by user thought graphic interface.     Keywords: Information Retrieval Interface; Dynamic Linking; Hypertext Technology; System-Human Information Processing; Dynamic Query Reformulation

The influence of HfO2 additives on the optical properties of Nd3+-doped Y2O3 ceramics

Transparent yttria ceramics were fabricated by sintering a mixture of 1 at.% Nd:Y2O3 and HfO2 nanopowders produced by laser synthesis method. The best transmittance was 80.96% at the wavelength of Ξ»=1080 nm in 6 mol.% HfO2 doped sample (1.5 mm thick). The additives of hafnium broaden both pumping and luminescence bands of Nd3+ ion in yttria ceramics. The luminescence intensity of 4F3/2β†’4I11/2 transition was little affected by hafnium concentration. The effective lifetime of 4F3/2 level in Nd:Y2O3 ceramics enhanced by 30% at 10 mol.% HfO2 doping concentration and the decay kinetics of laser transition attains FΓΆrster's behavior. Numerical simulation of hydrodynamics and heat transfer in the technological reservoir with the heat pump

    Get PDF
The mathematical modeling of mixed convection of viscous incompressible fluid in a rectangular reservoir with the sources of input and output of mass has been carried out. Is studied the influence of heat sink as a result of the work of heat pump and its position on the formation of convective flows and a change in the temperature conditions. Are revealed basic laws governing the heat transfer in the small environment of heat pump. The analysis of the influence of Reynolds numbers on the intensity of the heat exchange is carried out

The problem of changes in the ecology resulting, for example, in increases in water temperature because of discharges from large thermal power plants is considered. An experiment creating a model of such an ecological system is described

Fabry-Perot Bound States in the Continuum in an Anisotropic Photonic Crystal

An anisotropic photonic crystal containing two anisotropic defect layers is considered. It is demonstrated that the system under can support a Fabry-Perot bound state in the continuum (FP-BIC). A fully analytic solution of the scattering problem as well as a condition for FP-BIC have been derived in the framework of the temporal coupled-mode theory

The relevance of the formation of the valuable relation to countering youth extremism in the cadet environment

In the article the author reveals the urgency of countering and spreading extremism among young people through the formation of a certain value attitude to the destructive phenomenon of modern society. After analyzing the problems of youth extremism of military collectives, the author proposes to change the approaches to the education of cadets in educational organizations, in order to improve the effectiveness of countering extremismΠ’ ΡΡ‚Π°Ρ‚ΡŒΠ΅ Π°Π²Ρ‚ΠΎΡ€ раскрываСт Π°ΠΊΡ‚ΡƒΠ°Π»ΡŒΠ½ΠΎΡΡ‚ΡŒ противодСйствия ΠΈ распространСния экстрСмизму Π² ΠΌΠΎΠ»ΠΎΠ΄Ρ‘ΠΆΠ½ΠΎΠΉ срСдС Ρ‡Π΅Ρ€Π΅Π· Ρ„ΠΎΡ€ΠΌΠΈΡ€ΠΎΠ²Π°Π½ΠΈΠ΅ ΠΎΠΏΡ€Π΅Π΄Π΅Π»Ρ‘Π½Π½ΠΎΠ³ΠΎ цСнностного ΠΎΡ‚Π½ΠΎΡˆΠ΅Π½ΠΈΡ ΠΊ дСструктивному Ρ„Π΅Π½ΠΎΠΌΠ΅Π½Ρƒ соврСмСнного общСства. Controlling circular polarization of light emitted by quantum dots using chiral photonic crystal slab

    Get PDF
We study the polarization properties of light emitted by quantum dots that are embedded in chiral photonic crystal structures made of achiral planar GaAs waveguides. A modification of the electromagnetic mode structure due to the chiral grating fabricated by partial etching of the wave\-guide layer has been shown to result in a high circular polarization degree ρc\rho_c of the quantum dot emission in the absence of external magnetic field. The physical nature of the phenomenon can be understood in terms of the reciprocity principle taking into account the structural symmetry. At the resonance wavelength, the magnitude of ∣ρc∣|\rho_c| is predicted to exceed 98%. The experimentally achieved value of ∣ρc∣=81|\rho_c|=81% is smaller, which is due to the contribution of unpolarized light scattered by grating defects, thus breaking its periodicity. The achieved polarization degree estimated removing the unpolarized nonresonant background from the emission spectra can be estimated to be as high as 96%, close to the theoretical prediction

Erythrocytes as regulators of blood vessel tone

    Get PDF
A drop in oxygen partial pressure results in elevation of blood vessel diameter. It has been demonstrated that isolated vessels exhibit this unique feature only when they are perfused in the presence of erythrocytes. More recently, it was shown that haemoglobin plays a key role in oxygen sensing. Its deoxygenated form interacts with band 3 protein, triggering the cascade of non-identified intracellular signals involved in nitric oxide production and release of ATP interacting with P2Y purinergic receptors in endothelial cells. In this review, we summarize the data on mechanisms of ATP release from erythrocytes, as well as on its physiological and pathophysiological implications
