    Thrombocyte aggregation activity in the conditions of intensive light deprivation

    The aim of the research was to study the effect of photoperiodism disturbances on platelet aggregation activity. Material and methods. The experiment was conducted in two stages in 5 groups of male rats: the control group and four experimental groups. At the first stage, the animals were exposed to 24 h/day continuous light (24L:0D) for 10 and 21 days. In the second stage, animals after 10 and 21 days of round-the-clock lighting were returned to natural lighting for a period of 21 days to study the reversibility of changes. Animals were withdrawn from the experiment by intramuscular injection based on body weight of drugs for anesthesia (telazol, xylanite). Blood sampling was performed by puncture of the right heart. The functional activity of platelets was determined no later than 3 hours after the collection of blood. Results and discussion. The results of the experiment indicate a direct effect of light desynchronosis on the increase in platelet aggregation ability, while it was noted that the degree of increase in aggregation activity and reversibility of changes directly depend on the duration of round-the-clock lighting. So, a 10-day stay of animals in conditions of abnormal lighting leads to an increase in aggregation indices, which remain at a high level even when animals return to normal conditions. In animals that were under round-the-clock illumination for 21 days, a more pronounced increase in platelet aggregation values relative to animals on day 10 was noted. In this regard, it can be argued that circadian rhythm disturbances provoke the development of microvasculature disorders

    Цель. Провести эпидемиологическую характеристику сахарного диабетиа 1 типа у детей и подростков Калининградского региона. Материалы и методы. Регистр детей в Калининградском регионе создавался с использованием методики и диагностических критериев, рекомендованных Интернациональной группой по изучению эпидемиологии сахарного диабета. Для создания регистра и оценки степени полноты составления регистра использовались два источника информации. Все дети с впервые выявленным сахарным диабетом госпитализируются в эндокринологическое отделение Детской областной больницы г. Калининграда. В дальнейшем дети находятся на учете в районных поликлиниках, где они получают инсулин. Информация о больных СД 1 типа детях из стационара больницы считается первичным источником информации. Результаты. Начиная с 1989 г, заболеваемость СД 1 типа неуклонно нарастает, при незначительных ежегодных колебаниях. В 1989-1993 гг. уровень заболеваемости колебался от 1,977 до 3,625 на 100 тыс. детского населения, составляя в среднем 2,926. В период с 1994 по 1999 г. уровень заболеваемости колебался от 4,177 до 8,550, составляя в среднем 6,095 на 100 тыс. детского населения. В 2000-2002 гг. заболеваемость составляла 8,460-12,716, в среднем ? 10,752. Таким образом, за 13 лет заболеваемость СД 1 типа в Калининградском регионе увеличилась в среднем в 3,7 раза; ежегодный прирост заболеваемости составил в среднем 8,5%. Распространенность СД 1 типа неуклонно возрастает (11,04 в 1989 г. и 78,30 в 2002 г.). В наибольшей степени этот процесс был выражен в последние 2 года. Выводы. Заболеваемость СД 1 типа у детей Калининградского региона за 13 лет увеличилась в 4 раза и превышает средний показатель заболеваемости по России. Девочки болеют в 1,4 раза чаще, чем мальчики. В последние годы заболеваемость СД 1 типа среди детей области выше, чем среди детей, проживающих в Калининграде. Распространенность СД 1 типа в Калининградском регионе в 1,4 раза выше, чем в среднем по России, и приближается к уровню распространенности в скандинавских странах. Высокая заболеваемость и распространенность СД 1 типа отмечается в основном в семьях ?старых? мигрантов

    Psychological personality traits in healthy people with various types of fat tissue distribution

    Aim. To investigate psychological personality traits in relatively healthy people with various types of fat tissue distribution. Material and methods. The study included 482 clinically healthy males and females. Participants were divided into six groups, by gender and fat tissue distribution (identified by measuring waist/hips circumference index, WHI): intermediate, gynoid, and abdominal fat tissue distribution in males and females. Psychological personality traits were assessed by SMOL questionnaire (short form of Multiphasic Personality Inventory). Results. In women, the most unfavorable psychological profile was observed for abdominal type of fat tissue distribution. This group demonstrated symptoms of hypochondria, depression, and neuroses. This type of fat tissue distribution might be a predictor of future cardiovascular disease. Similar psychological traits were observed in men with abdominal fat tissue distribution. Nevertheless, men tended to resist high anxiety level by developing effective psychological adaptation mechanisms (p<0.01). Conclusion. Psychological correction methods can be useful in primary prevention of cardiovascular events among clinically healthy women with abdominal fat tissue distribution and increased arterial hypertension risk

    TERAHERTZ RADIATION IN COMPLEX PLEOPTO-ORTHOPTIC TREATMENT OF AMBLYOPIA AND ELIMINATION OF FUNCTIONAL SCOTOMA

    Purpose. To estimate the efficiency of the terahertz radiation in the frequency of the molecular spectrum of radiation and absorption of atmospheric oxygen of 129.0GHz in a complex pleoto-orthoptic treatment of amblyopia and elimination of functional scotoma in children. Material and methods. In the study 75 patients (aged from 3 to 9 years) were examined and treated: 33 children with anisometropia and 42 with dis-binocular amblyopia, 35 children with a functional scotoma were surveyed and treated. All children underwent the standard ophthalmic examination, additionally there were used: optical coherent tomography, electrophysiological investigations with the registration of photopic negative response. For the first time we applied the terahertz radiation in the frequency of the molecular spectrum of radiation and absorption of atmospheric oxygen of 129.0 GHz at the power of 100mV in the mode of the continuous oscillation of biological active points (BAP) – VB1, TR23 in children with amblyopia and in the mode of amplitude-modulated oscillation of biological active points (BAP) – VB1, E2 and TR23 in patients with functional scotoma. Results. The visual acuity in patients with amblyopia of mild and moderate degree significantly increased 5 days after the terahertz therapy and in cases of high amblyopia – 6 months later. The functional scotoma was eliminated in 30 patients. In 5 children it was removed after a repeated terahertz therapy which was carried out after 2 weeks. As a result of the elimination of functional scotoma the simultaneous vision was developed in 21 patients, the alternating monocular vision – in 14 children. Electrophysiological investigations with a registration of photopic negative responses confirmed an absence of depression of the retina after the terahertz radiation. Conclusions. The current study showed: 1) pleopto-orthoptic treatment with the use of terahertz therapy allows to increase significantly the visual acuity and to eliminate the functional scotoma; 2) the continuous mode of oscillation of terahertz influence is an effective mode of radiation as a component of the complex treatment of amblyopia, and the mode of amplitude-modulated oscillation – in the elimination of functional scotoma; 3) the terahertz therapy with millimeter waves is a very perspective and safe method of the treatment of amblyopia and the elimination of functional scotoma

    The presented research aimed to study biophysical effects of exogenic and endogenic nitrogen oxide (NO) molecules in crossed magnetic and electric fields, with their molecular emission and absorption rotation spectra (MEAS) of 240 GHz occurrence, on blood rheological properties in the patients with unstable angina. 60 patients, aged 55.6±0.93 years, with unstable angina were included in this study. The study results display that the further research is necessary in normalizing influence of MEAS of 240 GHz nitrogen oxide occurrence in crossed magnetic and electric fields on defected blood rheological properties

    Sensitivity and persistency of low-frequency component of heart rate variability: their use in clinical practice

    In volunteers of various age and with varying myocardial contractility, parameters of heart rate variability (HRV) were assessed during functional test with controlled breathing (frequency control) and bicycle stress test. HRV spectral components had different sensitivity to periodical breathing of varying frequencies, with maximal reaction to ft 1 Hz diapason and 10-second breathing period. Sensitivity level correlated with heart pathology's severity. During exercise test, density persistency of 0.1 Hz component capacity depended on myocardial contractility. Sensitivity and consistency parameters of generated 0.1 Hz component can be used in assessment of heart disease severity

    Platelets of unstable angina patients as effector cells in terahertz radiation at NO frequency

    Aim. To investigate the effects of electromagnetic terahertz waves at NO MSIP (molecular specter of radiation and absorption), 240 Hz, on platelet functional activity Р in natural electromagnetic field, as well as in crossed magnetic and electric fields among unstable angina patients. Material and methods. This in vitro study was performed on samples of platelet-enriched plasma from 120 unstable angina patients. The study of terahertz waves and platelets interaction at NO MSRA specter, 240 GHz, was performed with original quasi-optic SW generator of determined noises (CRIMD, Saratov). Functional activity of platelets (activation and aggregation) was measured by laser aggregation analyzer (Biola-230 Ltd.). Results. After in-vitro radiation of platelet-enriched plasma from unstable angina patients, at NO MSRA frequency, 240 GHz, disturbed platelet aggregation activity was normalized. Conclusion. Therefore, terahertz waves, at NO frequency, 240 GHz, substantially decreased elevated aggregation activity of the platelets from unstable angina patients

Antianginal effect in the both groups did not differ. At the middle-aged patients (46-59 years) there had been revealed an increase of anticoagulant blood potency, at the elderly patients (60-74 years) – a decrease of natural procoagulant activity
