Lattices of quasi-equational theories as congruence lattices of semilattices with operators, Part I
We show that for every quasivariety K of structures (where both functions and
relations are allowed) there is a semilattice S with operators such that the
lattice of quasi-equational theories of K (the dual of the lattice of
sub-quasivarieties of K) is isomorphic to Con(S,+,0,F). As a consequence, new
restrictions on the natural quasi-interior operator on lattices of

Sgoldstino events in top decays at LHC
We study top-quark decays in models with light sgoldstinos. The off-diagonal
entries in the squark mass matrices can lead to FCNC top two-body decays into
sgoldstinos and u(c) quarks. We compute the rates for these decays and discuss
the corresponding signatures that could manifest the presence of sgoldstinos in
top decays at LHC. We expect that a supersymmetry breaking scale up
to a scale of order 10 TeV could be probed through this process, for a maximal
squark mixing with the third generation. Justified by our preliminary analysis,
a thorough study of the corresponding signal versus background and systematics
in the LHC environment would be most welcome, in order to accurately assess the

Two-body Photodisintegration of He with Full Final State Interaction
The cross sections of the processes He()H and
He()He are calculated taking into account the full final
state interaction via the Lorentz integral transform (LIT) method. This is the
first consistent microscopic calculation beyond the three--body breakup
threshold. The results are obtained with a semirealistic central NN potential
including also the Coulomb force. The cross sections show a pronounced dipole
peak at 27 MeV which lies within the rather broad experimental band. At higher
energies, where experimental uncertainties are considerably smaller, one finds
a good agreement between theory and experiment. The calculated sum of three--
and four--body photodisintegration cross sections is also listed and is in fair
agreement with the data.Comment: 18 pages, 6 figure
Exciton correlations in coupled quantum wells and their luminescence blue shift
In this paper we present a study of an exciton system where electrons and
holes are confined in double quantum well structures. The dominating
interaction between excitons in such systems is a dipole - dipole repulsion. We
show that the tail of this interaction leads to a strong correlation between
excitons and substantially affects the behavior of the system. Making use of
qualitative arguments and estimates we develop a picture of the exciton -
exciton correlations in the whole region of temperature and concentration where
excitons exist. It appears that at low concentration degeneracy of the excitons
is accompanied with strong multi-particle correlation so that the system cannot
be considered as a gas. At high concentration the repulsion suppresses the
quantum degeneracy down to temperatures that could be much lower than in a Bose
gas with contact interaction. We calculate the blue shift of the exciton
luminescence line which is a sensitive tool to observe the exciton - exciton

Field-induced transition from parallel to perpendicular parametric pumping for a microstrip transducer
Microstrip transducers used for the excitation of spin waves in magnetic
films possess two characteristic properties: high spatial localization of the
microwave magnetic field and the presence of field components parallel and
perpendicular to the bias field.
Here, the effects of these features on the process of parametric pumping are
presented. By microwave measurements of the spin-wave instability threshold a
transition from parallel pumping to perpendicular pumping at the critical field
with the minimal threshold is observed. This transition is
accompanied by a sharp threshold increase above the critical field due to the
spatial confinement of the pump region.Comment: 4 pages, 2 figure
Nambu-Goldstone Modes in Gravitational Theories with Spontaneous Lorentz Breaking
Spontaneous breaking of Lorentz symmetry has been suggested as a possible
mechanism that might occur in the context of a fundamental Planck-scale theory,
such as string theory or a quantum theory of gravity. However, if Lorentz
symmetry is spontaneously broken, two sets of questions immediately arise: what
is the fate of the Nambu-Goldstone modes, and can a Higgs mechanism occur? A
