Non-linear electrodynamics of a ring-shaped Andreev interferometer
(superconductor-normal conductor-superconductor hybrid structure) inductively
coupled to a circuit of the dissipative current is investigated. The
current-voltage characteristics (CVC) is demonstrated to be a series of loops
with several branches intersecting in the CVC origin. The sensitivity of the
transport current to a change of the applied external magnetic flux can be
comparable to the one of the conventional SQUID's. Spontaneous arising of
coupled non-linear oscillations of the transport current, the Josephson current
and the magnetic flux in Andreev interferometers are also predicted and
investigated. The frequency of these oscillations can be varied in a wide
range, while the maximal frequency can reach ωmax​∼1012

For more than half a century, researchers around the world have been engaged in attempts to achieve fusion ignition as a proof of principle of various fusion concepts. Following the Lawson criterion, an ignited plasma is one where the fusion heating power is high enough to overcome all the physical processes that cool the fusion plasma, creating a positive thermodynamic feedback loop with rapidly increasing temperature. In inertially confined fusion, ignition is a state where the fusion plasma can begin "burn propagation" into surrounding cold fuel, enabling the possibility of high energy gain. While "scientific breakeven" (i.e., unity target gain) has not yet been achieved (here target gain is 0.72, 1.37Â MJ of fusion for 1.92Â MJ of laser energy), this Letter reports the first controlled fusion experiment, using laser indirect drive, on the National Ignition Facility to produce capsule gain (here 5.8) and reach ignition by nine different formulations of the Lawson criterion

Realizou-se inquérito sorológico e epidemiológico para cisticercose em indivÃduos de cinco municÃpios da região Norte do Estado do Paraná, Brasil. De 2.180 indivÃduos investigados através da reação de imunofluorescência indireta, 69 (3,2%) apresentaram tÃtulos significativos de anticorpos anti-Cysticercus cellulosae. Os percentuais de indivÃduos com tÃtulos significativos encontrados em Sarandi (6,6%) e Marialva (4,7%) não diferem estatisticamente (Z=1.319, P=0,0936), mas diferem dos percentuais encontrados em Mandaguaçu, Paiçandu e Maringá (PAn epidemiological and serological study was carried out on a sample of 2,180 individuals, in five counties in the north of Paraná State - Brazil, using the indirect immunofluorescence test to detect anti-Cysticercus cellulosae antibodies. These individuals, 69 (3.2%) showed significant titers of antibodies. No single significant difference between the proportion of reactivity in Sarandi (6.6%) and in Marialva (4.7%) was observed (Z=1,319, P=0,0936), but it was significantly higher than that observed in Mandaguaçu, Paiçandu and Maringá (P<0.01). Of these individuals, 47.9% were within 21-49 years old and 79.4% were of female sex. "Headache" (70.6%), "faintness" (57.4%), and "convulsions" (7.4%) were among the most frequent by reported, moreover, cases of Taenia infections (22.1%) and the custom of eating uncooked beef (41.2%) or pork (27.9%) and meat containing cysticerci (25.0%) were also related
