CONCERNING THE TREATMENT TACTICS FOR PATIENTS WITH PAROTIDEOMASSETERIC PHLEGMONS

    No full text
Purpose: development of the ways to optimize the treatment tactics for parotideomassetericphlegmons.Materials and methods: anatomic studies were carried out on 45 corpses following an original method (Russian Patent No.2271740), and 86 patients were examined. The patients were divided into two groups: control (42 patients) and main (42 patients), the latter treated in accordance with the developed method. Results: in cases of parotideomassetericphlegmon, elevation of the interstitial pressure (IP) by 20-30 mm Hg above the normal is an indication for fasciotomy. The second stage of the operation was reduced to 5 days for the main group (vs 7 days in the controls). Distant good results were obtained in 90.9% of the patients (54.8% in the controls)

New Silica Laser-Optimized Multimode Optical Fibers with Extremely Enlarged 100-μm Core Diameter for Gigabit Onboard and Industrial Networks

We present new type of silica graded index laser-optimized multimode optical fibers (LOMF) with extremely enlarged core diameter up to 100 μm and “typical” “telecommunication” cladding diameter 125 μm. This optical fiber was designed for harsh environment Gigabit onboard cable systems and industrial networks. It differs by special optimized graded refractive index profile, providing low differential mode delay (DMD) for selected guided modes. We present some results of tests, performed for manufactured pilot 520 m length of described LOMF 100/125, concerned with its geometry properties as well as key transmission parameters—attenuation and DMD map

Twisted Few-Mode Optical Fiber with Improved Height of Quasi-Step Refractive Index Profile

This work presents designed and fabricated silica few-mode optical fiber (FMF) with induced twisting 10 and 66 revolutions per meter, core diameter 11 µm, typical “telecommunication” cladding diameter 125 µm, improved height of quasi-step refractive index profile and numerical aperture 0.22. Proposed FMF supports 4 guided modes over “C”-band. We discussed selection of specified optical fiber parameters to provide desired limited mode number over mentioned wavelength range. Some results of tests, performed with pilot samples of manufactured FMF, are represented, including experimentally measured spectral responses of laser-excited optical signals, that comprise researches and analysis of few-mode effects, occurring after fiber Bragg grating writing
