The diaphragm wall construction process for deep vertical trenches is often filled up with bentonite slurry to control displacement of trench and surrounding settlement. However, when the diaphragm wall trenchs near the adjacent buildingsandcomplex geology such as soft soil, sand boiling, etc... using bentonite slurry to protect thestability oftrenchs would not besafeenoughfor the excavation. This paper proposes a methodcombinatingbetween the soil cement columns with the bentonite slurryforincreasingthe stability of trench and control settlement for adjacent buildings. The modelswere simulatedby Midas GTS 3D software to analyze the settlement ofadjacent buildings, the displacement and failure modesof the trench.Optimal schemesof soil cement columns toimprove the safety of the excavationin the construction process werealsoanalyzed
