Polarographic Investigation of the Half-Wave Potential of Thiosulfate in Peptides
The detailed structure of the protein molecule is gradually emerging as the result of intensive current scientific research. The past ten years have seen particularly rapid advances in knowledge of the primary structure of these molecules. Much effort is being directed to the correlation of this structure with biological function. The complex polymer molecules of proteins comprise more than half of the solid constituents of the human body and perform countless catalytic and protective functions. Examples of their importance range from the vigorous chemical activity of enzymes in digesting food to the inert behavior of hair, skin, and nails in providing protection for the body
