Final State Interactions in Kaon Decays Revisited

We examine effects of final state interactions (FSI) in kaon decays using a new scheme without the Omnes function, and show that while Delta I=1/2 rule is impossible to be explained in terms of FSI alone, $\epsilon'/\epsilon\sim 16.5\times 10^{-4}$ is obtained through FSI, if the calculation is concerned only with the CP-violating parts. The pi-pi contribution to the m_L-m_S mass difference is shown to be about 0.14, if the sizes of the CP conserving amplitudes A_0 and A_2 are correctly given.Comment: 6 pages and 2 eps figures, LaTeX

Scalar Dipion States Produced in Heavy Quarkonium Decays and the Final State Interaction

We study phenomenologically the invariant mass spectra of scalar dipion states produced in cascade decays of excited $\Upsilon$ and $\psi$, and $J/\psi$ decays into light vector meson. Dipion production amplitude is given as a product of the Born term and an effective scalar form factor written in terms of a unitarized chiral theory. The model reproduces the experimental mass spectra very well.Comment: 12pages with 5 eps fig

(p,q)-string in matrix-regularized membrane and type IIB duality

We consider a lightcone wrapped supermembrane compactified on 2-torus in the matrix regularization. We examine the double dimensional reduction technique and deduce the free matrix string of (p,q)-string in type IIB superstring theory explicitly from the matrix-regularized wrapped supermembrane. In addition we obtain the (2+1)-dimensional super Yang-Mills action in curved background. We also examine the duality.Comment: 25 page
