Studi Metodologis Fikih Zakat Profesi dalam Perspektif Yusuf Al-Qardhawi
The purpose of this study was to determine the method, foundation and reasoning of Yusuf al-Qardhawi's law on professional zakat. This research is a library research with data collection methods in the form of quoting, adapting and analyzing using content analysis. The results showed that according to Yusuf al-Qardhawi, ijtihad is a serious effort by exerting all abilities by those who have the authority in order to find answers to religious law through istinbât both done hourly (collective) or fardi (individual) by involving other experts . The results of the ijtihad are based on the maqâsid al-syarî‘ah using the qiyas method. On the basis of this principle Yusuf al-Qardhawi stipulates that in determining the obligatory zakat from the profession does not wait a year. The determination of the law does not stand alone, but is supported by the Qur'anic texts, hadith, and analogies. The aspect of justice in determining the obligation of professional zakat for every Muslim is because zakat is essentially worship related to property. A person who has fulfilled his requirements is required to fulfill it, not solely on the basis of his generosity, but if necessary even under pressure from the authorities
Orbital tuberculosis in childhood with intracranial extension: a case report
The common causes of orbital masses in pediatric age group include pseudotumour, lymphomas, hemangioma and dermoid cyst. Orbital tuberculosis is rare especially in children. We report a case of 5 year old child who presented with proptosis and gross diminution of vision due to orbital tuberculoma. Ocular examination of the left eye revealed proptosis with the eyeball displaced downwards and forwards. Vision was counting finger close to face. CT Scan showed an extraconal soft tissue mass along posteromedial side of left orbit with lateral displacement of medial rectus muscle. On antitubercular treatment, proptosis regressed and visual recovery was observed over a period of six month vision, in the left eye at the last followup was 20/30
Computational diagnosis and risk evaluation for canine lymphoma
The canine lymphoma blood test detects the levels of two biomarkers, the
acute phase proteins (C-Reactive Protein and Haptoglobin). This test can be
used for diagnostics, for screening, and for remission monitoring as well. We
analyze clinical data, test various machine learning methods and select the
best approach to these problems. Three family of methods, decision trees, kNN
(including advanced and adaptive kNN) and probability density evaluation with
radial basis functions, are used for classification and risk estimation.
Several pre-processing approaches were implemented and compared. The best of
them are used to create the diagnostic system. For the differential diagnosis
the best solution gives the sensitivity and specificity of 83.5% and 77%,
respectively (using three input features, CRP, Haptoglobin and standard
clinical symptom). For the screening task, the decision tree method provides
the best result, with sensitivity and specificity of 81.4% and >99%,
respectively (using the same input features). If the clinical symptoms
(Lymphadenopathy) are considered as unknown then a decision tree with CRP and
Hapt only provides sensitivity 69% and specificity 83.5%. The lymphoma risk
evaluation problem is formulated and solved. The best models are selected as
the system for computational lymphoma diagnosis and evaluation the risk of
lymphoma as well. These methods are implemented into a special web-accessed
software and are applied to problem of monitoring dogs with lymphoma after
treatment. It detects recurrence of lymphoma up to two months prior to the
appearance of clinical signs. The risk map visualisation provides a friendly

Population of isomers in decay of the giant dipole resonance
The value of an isomeric ratio (IR) in N=81 isotones (Ba, Ce,
Nd and Sm) is studied by means of the ( reaction.
This quantity measures a probability to populate the isomeric state in respect
to the ground state population. In ( reactions, the giant dipole
resonance (GDR) is excited and after its decay by a neutron emission, the
nucleus has an excitation energy of a few MeV. The forthcoming decay
by direct or cascade transitions deexcites the nucleus into an isomeric or
ground state. It has been observed experimentally that the IR for Ba
and Ce equals about 0.13 while in two heavier isotones it is even less
than half the size. To explain this effect, the structure of the excited states
in the energy region up to 6.5 MeV has been calculated within the Quasiparticle
Phonon Model. Many states are found connected to the ground and isomeric states
by , and transitions. The single-particle component of the wave
function is responsible for the large values of the transitions. The calculated
value of the isomeric ratio is in very good agreement with the experimental
data for all isotones. A slightly different value of maximum energy with which
the nuclei rest after neutron decay of the GDR is responsible for the reported

Highly charged ions in Penning traps, a new tool for resolving low lying isomeric states
The use of highly charged ions increases the precision and resolving power,
in particular for short-lived species produced at on-line radio-isotope beam
facilities, achievable with Penning trap mass spectrometers. This increase in
resolving power provides a new and unique access to resolving low-lying
long-lived ( ms) nuclear isomers. Recently, the keV
(determined from -ray spectroscopy) isomeric state in Rb has
been resolved from the ground state, in a charge state of with the TITAN
Penning trap at the TRIUMF-ISAC facility. The excitation energy of the isomer
was measured to be keV above the ground state. The extracted
masses for both the ground and isomeric states, and their difference, agree
with the AME2003 and Nuclear Data Sheet values. This proof of principle
measurement demonstrates the feasibility of using Penning trap mass
spectrometers coupled to charge breeders to study nuclear isomers and opens a

Decay modes of 250No
The Fragment Mass Analyzer at the ATLAS facility has been used to
unambiguously identify the mass number associated with different decay modes of
the nobelium isotopes produced via 204Pb(48Ca,xn)(252-x)No reactions.
Isotopically pure (>99.7%) 204Pb targets were used to reduce background from
more favored reactions on heavier lead isotopes. Two spontaneous fission
half-lives (t_1/2 = 3.7+1.1-0.8 us and 43+22-15 us) were deduced from a total
of 158 fission events. Both decays originate from 250No rather than from
neighboring isotopes as previously suggested. The longer activity most likely
corresponds to a K-isomer in this nucleus. No conclusive evidence for an alpha
branch was observed, resulting in upper limits of 2.1% for the shorter lifetime

WormBase (www.wormbase.org) is the major publicly available database of information about Caenorhabditis elegans, an important system for basic biological and biomedical research. Derived from the initial ACeDB database of C. elegans genetic and sequence information, WormBase now includes the genomic, anatomical and functional information about C. elegans, other Caenorhabditis species and other nematodes. As such, it is a crucial resource not only for C. elegans biologists but the larger biomedical and bioinformatics communities. Coverage of core areas of C. elegans biology will allow the biomedical community to make full use of the results of intensive molecular genetic analysis and functional genomic studies of this organism. Improved search and display tools, wider cross-species comparisons and extended ontologies are some of the features that will help scientists extend their research and take advantage of other nematode species genome sequences
Correlation between CD4 counts of HIV patients and enteric protozoan in different seasons – An experience of a tertiary care hospital in Varanasi (India)
<p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>Protozoan infections are the most serious among all the superimposed infections in HIV patients and claim a number of lives every year. The line of treatment being different for diverse parasites necessitates a definitive diagnosis of the etiological agents to avoid empirical treatment. Thus, the present study has been aimed to elucidate the associations between diarrhoea and CD4 counts and to study the effect of HAART along with management of diarrhoea in HIV positive patients. This study is the first of its kind in this area where an attempt was made to correlate seasonal variation and intestinal protozoan infestations.</p> <p>Methods</p> <p>The study period was from January 2006 to October 2007 wherein stool samples were collected from 366 HIV positive patients with diarrhea attending the ART centre, inpatient department and ICTC of S.S. hospital, I.M.S., B.H.U., Varanasi. Simultaneously, CD4 counts were recorded to assess the status of HIV infection vis-à-vis parasitic infection. The identification of pathogens was done on the basis of direct microscopy and different staining techniques.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Of the 366 patients, 112 had acute and 254 had chronic diarrhea. The percentages of intestinal protozoa detected were 78.5% in acute and 50.7% in chronic cases respectively. Immune restoration was observed in 36.6% patients after treatment on the basis of clinical observation and CD4 counts. In 39.8% of HIV positive cases <it>Cryptosporidium </it>spp. was detected followed by <it>Microsporidia </it>spp. (26.7%). The highest incidence of intestinal infection was in the rainy season. However, infection with <it>Cyclospora </it>spp. was at its peak in the summer. Patients with chronic diarrhea had lower CD4 cell counts. The maximum parasitic isolation was in the patients whose CD4 cell counts were below 200 cells/μl.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>There was an inverse relation between the CD4 counts and duration of diarrhea. <it>Cryptosporidium </it>spp. was isolated maximum among all the parasites in the HIV patients. The highest incidence of infection was seen in the rainy season.</p
Transverse momentum and centrality dependence of dihadron correlations in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN)=200 GeV: Jet-quenching and the response of partonic matter
Azimuthal angle \Delta\phi correlations are presented for charged hadrons
from dijets for 0.4 < p_T < 10 GeV/c in Au+Au collisions at sqrt(s_NN) = 200
GeV. With increasing p_T, the away-side distribution evolves from a broad to a
concave shape, then to a convex shape. Comparisons to p+p data suggest that the
away-side can be divided into a partially suppressed "head" region centered at
Delta\phi ~ \pi, and an enhanced "shoulder" region centered at Delta\phi ~ \pi
+/- 1.1. The p_T spectrum for the "head" region softens toward central
collisions, consistent with the onset of jet quenching. The spectral slope for
the "shoulder" region is independent of centrality and trigger p_T, which
offers constraints on energy transport mechanisms and suggests that the
