    Coordinated Active and Reactive Power Regulation on Energy Capacitor System for Stabilization of Electric Power Systems

    AbstractThis paper present+ a coordinated active andreactive power regulation on a small sized Energy Capacitorsystem for the stab-tion of electric power syatems. The activepower now control is achieved by the active power regulation, Le.,the charging or discharging operation on the ECS. The voltageregulation is also achieved by the reactive power regulation onthe ECS. Throngb both the active and the reactbe powerregulation, the electric power system can be stabilized quiteesectively. To demonstrate the efficiency of the proposedcoordinated regulation, nodnear simulations have beenperformed in the Matlab/Siulink environment. In thesimulations, fun sets of the excitation control systems includingthe power system stsbdhrers and the speed governing controlsystem including the turbine systems are considered. Thesimulation results clearly indicate the efeciency of the proposedactive and reactive power regulation.5 Halama
