    Finding the shortest path in a graph and its visualization using C# and WPF

    The shortest path problem is a classic problem in mathematics and computer science with applications in Economics (sequential decision making, analysis of social networks, etc.). The presented work is an example of realizing and applying of Dijkstra's algorithm to find the shortest path between two vertices in a connected, undirected graph, which is often a solved problem at a time annual International Olympiad in Informatics. For this purpose, are used the technologies, .NET 4.0, Visual Studio 2010, and WPF for the graphical user interface. The implemented program allows drawing an undirected graph, visualizing the shortest path between two vertices and finding its value. This software is a valuable tool for the study of Dijkstra's algorithm and is a great pedagogic instrument. All figures of path visualization included in this paper are actual screenshots of our visualization program

    Modeling of digital converter for GSM signals with MATLAB

    In this study will simulate steady state of Digital Down Convertor (DDC) for GSM signal with a narrow frequency range. The MATLAB model that is described in this article simulates the work of the TIGC4016 Quad Digital Down Converter. This converter is used for digital mixing (down conversion) of signals, narrow band low-pass filtering and decimation. To implementation of the model, we use high sample-rate (69,333 MSPS) bandpass signal. The result contains low sample-rate (270.83 KSPS) baseband signal, thus facilitating the demodulation process

    The Role of Suboptimal Home-Measured Blood Pressure Control for Cognitive Decline

    Aim: We aim to analyze if there is any correlation between suboptimal home-/self-measured blood pressure values and the results from neuropsychological screening tests for early cognitive impairment. Methods: We studied 325 patients with treated hypertension. Mean age was 66.12 (±10.1) years. There were 119 (36.6%) male and 206 (63.4%) female patients, among them 52 (16%) with atrial fibrillation. Neuropsychological tests performed were the Mini-Mental State Examination, Montreal Cognitive Assessment, and Hachinski Ischemic Score; additionally, home-measured blood pressure was used. Results: There is a nonlinear age- and risk factor-dependent correlation between early stages of cognitive impairment and suboptimal home-measured blood pressure. Conclusion: The use of specific and sensitive neuropsychological tests for early cognitive impairment in patients with suboptimal home-measured blood pressure is effective in the everyday practice

    Beta asymmetry parameter in the decay of 114In

    The beta asymmetry parameter A for the pure Gamow-Teller decay of 114In is reported. The low temperature nuclear orientation method was combined with a GEANT4 based simulation code allowing for the first time to address in detail the effects of scattering and of the magnetic field. The result, A = -0.994 +/- 0.010stat +/- 0.010syst, constitutes the most accurate value for the asymmetry parameter of a nuclear beta transition to date. The value is in agreement with the Standard Model prediction of A = -1 and provides new limits on tensor type charged weak currents.Comment: 11 pages, 2 figures; additional information was added on systematic effects, the magnetic field map and the calculation of the Qcos(theta) value
