Educación y economía. El comercio justo, alternativa para reducir los índices de pobreza, Ecuador (Original)

This article reflects the results of an investigation carried out  with the objective to determine how the fair trade influence in the reduction of the poverty of the small cocoa producers of the Province de Los Rios, To this end methods were used: scientific observation documentary analysis, ethnographic, inductive-deductive, analysis and synthesis and historic logical; as well as the statistical method that allowed to corroborate the hypothesis that the marketing of cacao through fair trade system, diminishes the poverty indices of small producers of the province of the rivers in Ecuador. The small farmers of cocoa associated with this alternative trade have gradually diminished poverty indicators, however exist to synchrony between the praxis and the level of knowledge of the cocoa producers on the features and benefits of this type of trade as the minimum prices, payment of premiums for development and pre financing; from here the need to undertake training strategies to enable the community to ensure a democratic decision-making in regard to the use of the surplus generated and to be able to continue raising the living standards of families.El artículo refleja los resultados de una  investigación realizada por un grupo de profesores con el objetivo determinar de qué manera el Comercio Justo influye en la reducción de la pobreza de los pequeños productores de cacao de la Provincia de Los Ríos; para ello se utilizaron los métodos: observación científica, análisis documental, etnográfico, inductivo-deductivo,  análisis y síntesis e histórico lógico; así como el método estadístico que permitieron corroborar la hipótesis de que la comercialización del cacao a través del sistema Comercio Justo, disminuye los índices de pobreza de los pequeños productores de la provincia de Los Ríos en Ecuador. Los pequeños agricultores de cacao asociados a esta alternativa de comercio han disminuido paulatinamente los indicadores de pobreza, no obstante existir a sincronía entre la praxis y el nivel de conocimiento de los productores de cacao  sobre las características  y ventajas  de este tipo de comercio como los precios mínimos, pago de primas de desarrollo y pre financiamiento; de aquí la necesidad de acometer estrategias de capacitación que permitan a la colectividad   asegurar una toma de decisión democrática en cuanto a la utilización del excedente generado y poder continuar elevando los estándares de vida  de las familias
