Human Sapovirus in Clams, Japan
Human sapovirus was detected in 4 of 57 clam packages by reverse transcriptionâPCR and sequence analysis. This represents the first finding of sapovirus contamination in food. Closely matching sequences have been detected in stool specimens from patients with gastroenteritis in Japan, which indicates a possible food-to-human transmission link

åãšããŠèªèããŠãããIn an aging society with a declining birth rate, it is essential to maintain the nursing service provision system by preventing nurses from leaving the nursing profession. To examine the measures of enabling nurses to work with vigor and enthusiasm and continue in the nursing profession, we decided to design a questionnaire regarding nursesâ perceptions of the attractiveness of nursing as a profession. The respondents of the anonymous, self-administered survey from December 2019 to February 2020 included 393 nurses working at three hospitals in Osaka. The questionnaire included a total of 40-item questions related to âPractical Nursing Situations that Attracted Nursesâ and âProfessional Attractiveness of Nurses,â which were answered by the nurse respondents on a 6-point Likert scale. The mean age of the respondents was 39.0 ± 11.9 years old, and the mean year of experience was 14.2 ± 10.4 years. It was found out that nurses felt attracted to nursing as a profession in many nursing practice situations such as âwhen they felt they helped patients recover,â âwhen they were moved by what patients said or did,â and âwhen they saw patients smile.â Furthermore, it was also found out that they were recognized âbeing able to collaborate with other professionsâ and âimproving their own knowledge and skillsâ as an attractiveness of nursing as a profession.åèè«æOriginal Article

ãç掻ãåæ§ç¯ã§ããããæ¯ããããšãéèŠã§ãããInflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic disease that frequently flares up and goes into remission, and longterm drug therapy and dietary treatment have a substantial impact on the lives of patients. In this research, semistructured interviews were performed with 10 patients with IBD who were receiving treatment and leading social lives, to analyze measures to support the process of restructuring their lives. The participant experienced âuncertainty due to lack of understanding of the situation,â âuncertainty about medical care and treatment,â âuncertainty about daily life,â and âvague uncertainty that cannot be removed,â and they developed their own lives by âsearching in the midst of uncertainty,â âacquiring skills to live a life that suits them,â and âaccepting and integrating uncertainty into their lives.â They were creating a life that was unique to them by [seeking out uncertainty], [learning to live a life that suited them], and [accepting and integrating uncertainty into their lives]. It is crucial for health care practitioners to enable patients to reconstruct their lives by giving knowledge and involvement that allows patients to voice their views and feelings, and by attending to their expressed thoughts and feelings.åèè«æOriginal Article
