    eラーニングを活用した生涯学習システムとしてインターネット市民塾が開発された。単なるeラーニングではなく,学びの共同体として,市民誰でもが参加でき,同時に,市民自らが講師となって,経験知や地域資源をネット公開できるフリーマーケット方式で学習を進める。地域色豊かなスクーリング,人と地域を活性化する特性,30-40歳代といった働き盛りの参加が多いことなどから注目が集まり,富山を起点に全国へと広がりつつある。現在,再チャレンジ推進力を持った生涯学習プラットフォームとして拡張・リニューアル作業に取り組んでいる。生涯学習にとどまらず地域再生・活性化に効果するプラットフォームの役割を担いつつある。本稿ではこれらについて報告する。Internet Shiminjuku was developed as a life-long learning system for citizens. It is not just a so-called e-system of life-long learning, but a flea market system where learners can share the knowledge and materials that have been formed and accumulated in the community. The schooling of Internet Shiminjuku is held at the practical situation. Citizens, especially in the age of 30-40 year olds, were activated to join the life-long learning by using the e-system of Internet Shiminjuku. With these findings it was discussed that the Internet Shiminjuku would work as a platform of community revitalization. We are now engaged in renewing it to enhance the human activities to try to find another chance as well as to expand the functions of life-long learning

    Implementation of a new specific program for training curators at Hiroshima University

    博物館法施行規則の改正に伴い,2012年4月から学芸員資格取得のために修得すべき科目が大幅に変更となった。学芸員資格取得の歴史においてはきわめて大きな変更である。本学では,これに対応するため,各学部の学芸員資格取得特定プログラムを統合し,全学の学生を対象とする新課程に移行した。本稿では,本学が新たに採用した4学期制(ターム制)を含め,今回の変更が受講や資格取得にどのような影響を及ぼしたのか,統計データの分析を通じて考察した。新課程移行の前後で,プログラム登録者数,資格取得者数は大幅に減少し,取得率も大きく低下した。こうした現象は特定の学部,分野の変化に基づくものではなく,旧課程においてプログラム登録の主体となってきた全ての学部に共通する。分析を通じて,大幅な必要単位数の増加,全学を対象としたプログラムへの変更,2学期制から4学期制(ターム制)への変更など,複数の要因が関連して,各学部における専門の修得と学芸員資格取得を両立させることが困難な状況が生じていることが推定された。As a result of the revision of Museum Law Enforcement Rules, the subjects that must be completed to acquire the curator qualification have changed significantly since April 2012, which constitutes a major change in the history of this qualification. To cope with this change, we integrated the curator qualification specific programs of each faculty into a new course for students of all universities. In this paper, through statistical data analysis, we examined the impact of this change on attendance trends, including the term system newly adopted by Hiroshima University. Before and after the transition to the new course, the number of program registrants and qualifications greatly decreased, and the acquisition rate has also declined significantly. These phenomena were not based on changes in specific faculties or fields, but are common to all faculties subject to program registration during the old course. Through this analysis, we presumed that several factors, such as the great increase in the required number of credits, the change to the program for the whole school, and the change from a two-semester system to the four-semester system, were all interrelated to each other, which make it difficult to achieve both specialized and curator qualifications.本稿は,2018年6月22日に香川大学で開催された第13回日本博物科学会で口頭発表した藤野次史・青木孝夫・清水則雄・菅村 亨・本多博之・山口富美夫・山崎博史・吉田将之「広島大学における新課程実施後の学芸員資格取得状況について」を元に,新たなデータを加えて考察したものである

    Analysis of Factors Associated With Radiation-Induced Bronchiolitis Obliterans Organizing Pneumonia Syndrome After Breast-Conserving Therapy

    Purpose: To evaluate factors associated with radiation-induced bronchiolitis obliterans organizing pneumonia (BOOP) syndrome after breast-conserving therapy. Methods and materials: A total of 702 women with breast cancer who received radiotherapy after breast-conserving surgery at seven institutions between July 1995 and December 2006 were analyzed. In all patients, the whole breast was irradiated with two tangential photon beams. The criteria used for the diagnosis of radiation-induced BOOP syndrome were as follows: (1) radiotherapy to the breast within 12 months, (2) general and/or respiratory symptoms lasting for >or=2 weeks, (3) radiographs showing lung infiltration outside the radiation port, and (4) no evidence of a specific cause. Results: Radiation-induced BOOP syndrome was seen in 16 patients (2.3%). Eleven patients (68.8%) were administered steroids. The duration of steroid administration ranged from 1 week to 3.7 years (median, 1.1 years). Multivariate analysis revealed that age (>or=50 years; odds ratio [OR] 8.88; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.16-67.76; p = 0.04) and concurrent endocrine therapy (OR 3.05; 95% CI 1.09-8.54; p = 0.03) were significantly associated with BOOP syndrome. Of the 161 patients whose age was >or=50 years and who received concurrent endocrine therapy, 10 (6.2%) developed BOOP syndrome. Conclusions: Age (>or=50 years) and concurrent endocrine therapy can promote the development of radiation-induced BOOP syndrome after breast-conserving therapy. Physicians should carefully follow patients who received breast-conserving therapy, especially those who are older than 50 years and received concurrent endocrine therapy during radiotherapy

    Precise measurement of positronium hyperfine splitting using the Zeeman effect

    Positronium is an ideal system for the research of the quantum electrodynamics (QED) in bound state. The hyperfine splitting (HFS) of positronium, ΔHFS\Delta_{\mathrm{HFS}}, gives a good test of the bound state calculations and probes new physics beyond the Standard Model. A new method of QED calculations has revealed the discrepancy by 15\,ppm (3.9σ\sigma) of ΔHFS\Delta_{\mathrm{HFS}} between the QED prediction and the experimental average. There would be possibility of new physics or common systematic uncertainties in the previous all experiments. We describe a new experiment to reduce possible systematic uncertainties and will provide an independent check of the discrepancy. We are now taking data and the current result of ΔHFS=203.3951±0.0024(stat.,12ppm)±0.0019(sys.,9.5ppm)GHz\Delta_{\mathrm{HFS}} = 203.395\,1 \pm 0.002\,4 (\mathrm{stat.}, 12\,\mathrm{ppm}) \pm 0.001\,9 (\mathrm{sys.}, 9.5\,\mathrm{ppm})\,\mathrm{GHz} has been obtained so far.     Rapid changes in plaque composition and morphology after intensive lipid lowering therapy: study with serial coronary CT angiography.

    Although intensive lipid lowering by statins can enhance plaque stability, few data exist regarding how early statins change plaque composition and morphology in clinical setting. Therefore, to examine early changes in plaque composition and morphology by intensive lipid lowering with statins, we evaluate coronary plaques from acute coronary syndrome (ACS) before and 3 weeks after lipid lowering by coronary CT angiography. We enrolled 110 patients with suspected ACS and underwent coronary CT. We defined plaque as unstable when CT number of plaque1.10. Rosuvastatin (5 mg/day) or atorvastatin (20 mg/day) were introduced to reduce low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). Then, CT was again performed by the same condition 3 weeks after lipid lowering therapy. Total 10 patients (8 men, mean age 72.0 years), in whom informed consent regarding serial CT examination was obtained, were analyzed. Among them, 4 patients who denied to have intensive lipid lowering were served as controls. In remaining 6 patients, LDL-C reduced from 129.5±26.9 mg/dl to 68.5±11.1 mg/dl after statin treatment. Under these conditions, CT number of the targeted plaque significantly increased from 16.0±15.9 to 50.8±35.0 HU (p<0.05) and remodeling index decreased from 1.22±0.11 to 1.11±0.06 (p<0.05), although these values substantially unchanged in controls. These results demonstrate that MDCT-determined plaque composition as well as volume could be changed within 3 weeks after intensive lipid lowering. This may explain acute effects of statins in treatment of acute coronary syndrome

    An overview of the current status of the 8.2 m Subaru Telescope constructed and operated at Mauna Kea, Hawaii, by the National Astronomical Observatory of Japan is presented. The basic design concept and the verified performance of the telescope system are described. Also given are the status of the instrument package offered to the astronomical community, the status of operation, and some of the future plans. The status of the telescope reported in a number of SPIE papers as of the summer of 2002 are incorporated with some updates included as of 2004 February.
