Search for H hypernucleus by the Li reaction at = 1.2 GeV/
We have carried out an experiment to search for a neutron-rich hypernucleus,
H, by the Li() reaction at =1.2
GeV/. The obtained missing mass spectrum with an estimated energy resolution
of 3.2 MeV (FWHM) showed no peak structure corresponding to the H
hypernucleus neither below nor above the H particle decay
threshold. An upper limit of the production cross section for the bound
H hypernucleus was estimated to be 1.2 nb/sr at 90% confidence
level.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, published versio
Search for the pentaquark via the reaction at 1.92 GeV/
The pentaquark baryon was searched for via the
reaction in a missing-mass resolution of 1.4 MeV/(FWHM) at J-PARC.
meson beams were incident on the liquid hydrogen target with the beam momentum
of 1.92 GeV/. No peak structure corresponding to the mass was
observed. The upper limit of the production cross section averaged over the
scattering angle of 2 to 15 in the laboratory frame was
obtained to be 0.26 b/sr in the mass region of 1.511.55 GeV/.The
upper limit of the decay width using the effective Lagrangian
approach was obtained to be 0.72 MeV/ and 3.1 MeV/ for
and , respectively.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, 1 tabl
SPring-8 LEPS2 beamline: A facility to produce a multi-GeV photon beam via laser Compton scattering
We have constructed a new laser-Compton-scattering facility, called the LEPS2
beamline, at the 8-GeV electron storage ring, SPring-8. This facility provides
a linearly polarized photon beam in a tagged energy range of 1.3--2.4 GeV.
Thanks to a small divergence of the low-emittance storage-ring electrons, the
tagged photon beam has a size (sigma) suppressed to about 4 mm even after it
travels about 130 m to the experimental building that is independent of the
storage ring building and contains large detector systems. This beamline is
designed to achieve a photon beam intensity higher than that of the first
laser-Compton-scattering beamline at SPring-8 by adopting the simultaneous
injection of up to four high-power laser beams and increasing a transmittance
for the long photon-beam path up to about 77%. The new beamline is under
operation for hadron photoproduction experiments
Search for bound state via reaction at GeV
A search for bound state (the lightest kaonic nucleus) has been
performed using the reaction at
E=1.5-2.4 GeV at LEPS/SPring-8. The differential cross section of photo-production off deuterium has been measured for the first time in
this energy region, and a bump structure was searched for in the inclusive
missing mass spectrum. A statistically significant bump structure was not
observed in the region from 2.22 to 2.36 GeV/, and the upper limits of the
differential cross section for the bound state production were
determined to be 0.10.7 b (95 confidence level) for a set of
assumed binding energy and width values
Pole position of measured in reactions
We measured a set of , , and
invariant mass spectra below and above the mass
threshold in -induced reactions on deuteron. We deduced the -wave
and scattering
amplitudes in the isospin 0 channel in the framework of a and
coupled channel. We find that a resonance pole corresponding to
is located at 1417.7(fitting
errors)(systematic errors) + (fitting
errors)(systematic errors)] MeV/, closer to the
mass threshold than the value determined by the Particle Data Group.Comment: 8 pages, 5 figure
