Top-quark mass at ATLAS and CMS

The top-quark mass measurements carried out by the LHC experiments, ATLAS and CMS, are summarized. Results of different approaches to the top-quark mass reconstruction are presented. Masses from different measurements are in good agreement within uncertainties. Precision of the measurements with the directly measured top-quark mass is now better than 0.5%. Progress in determination of the top-quark pole mass is reported and the relation between the directly measured top-quark mass and top-quark pole mass is discussed.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures,11th International Workshop on Top Quark Physic

Measurement of the particle production properties with the ATLAS Detector

In this contribution, the results on soft hadron physics concerning the underlying event and Bose-Einsten correlations obtained using data collected in proton-proton collisions with the ATLAS experiment are presented

Measurement of the jet production properties at the LHC 2 with the ATLAS Detector

Different features of the jet production in pp collisions at \sqrt{s} = 7 TeV have been measured by the ATLAS experiment. Among them are: the dijet double-differential cross sections, upper limit of the scale for contact interaction, the flavour dijet decomposition for different light-, c-, and b-jet combinations, double-differential inclusive jet cross sections, and b-jet and light-jet shapes measured using top quark pair events. In all cases good agreement with the SM QCD expectations was found. The dijet analysis provided a lower limit for the compositeness scale of about 7 TeV

New Method of Fast Simulation For A Hadron Calorimeter Response

    No full text
In this work we present the new method of a fast Monte Carlo simulation of a hadron calorimeter response. It is based on the three-dimensional parameterization of the hadronic shower obtained from the ATLAS TILECAL testbeam data and GEANT simulations. A new approach of including the longitudinal fluctuations of hadronic shower is described. The obtained results of the fast simulation are in good agreement with the TILECAL experimental data

Features of blood pressure in student-athletes from different directions of the training process.

Performed blood pressure (BP) and hemodynamics of 85 students: 30 non-athletes (group I), 27 athletes power enforcement types (group II) and 28 - endurance sports (group III). It was found that the second and third groups had higher systolic and mean arterial pressure than in the I group. There are differences in blood pressure reactivity to changes in body position, mental and physical activity among the various groups studied. It is shown that the formation of moderate hypertension in group III is carried out by increasing peripheral vascular resistance, and II - at the expense of increased cardiac output
