Recent atmospheric neutrino results from Soudan 2
An updated measurement of the atmospheric nu_mu/nu_e ratio-of-ratios,
0.68+-0.11+-0.06, has been obtained using a 4.6-kty exposure of the Soudan-2
iron tracking calorimeter. The L/E distributions have been analyzed for effects
of nu_mu -> nu_x oscillations, and an allowed region in the Delta m^2 vs. sin^2
2 theta plane has been determined.Comment: 3 pages, 4 figures; presented at TAUP99, the 6th Int. Workshop on

Mixed convection in a rotating porous cavity having local heater
Numerical simulation of convective heat transfer inside a rotating porous square cavity with local heater of constant temperature has been performed. Governing equations formulated on the basis of mass, momentum and energy conservation laws written using the dimensionless stream function, vorticity and temperature have been solved by the finite difference method. The effects of Rayleigh and Taylor numbers on periodic flow and heat transfer have been studied
Study of the effect of thermo - and photosdate on the properties of cotton fabrics by vibrational spectroscopy
By IR and Raman spectroscopy we studied the influence of photo - and thermal impact on dyed cotton fabric. The possibility is shown how the identification of different dyes and to detect signs of different ways impacts on the fabric. Demonstrated that the combined use of IR and Raman spectroscopy extends the study of woven materials
Analysis of Control Measures for Vector-borne Diseases Using a Multistage Vector Model with Multi-Host Sub-populations
We propose and analyze an epidemiological model for vector borne diseases
that integrates a multi-stage vector population and several host
sub-populations which may be characterized by a variety of compartmental model
types: subpopulations all include Susceptible and Infected compartments, but
may or may not include Exposed and/or Recovered compartments. The model was
originally designed to evaluate the effectiveness of various prophylactic
measures in malaria-endemic areas, but can be applied as well to other
vector-borne diseases. This model is expressed as a system of several
differential equations, where the number of equations depends on the particular
assumptions of the model. We compute the basic reproduction number , and show that if , the disease free equilibrium
(DFE) is globally asymptotically stable (GAS) on the nonnegative orthant. If
, the system admits a unique endemic equilibrium (EE) that is
GAS. We analyze the sensitivity of and the EE to different system
parameters, and based on this analysis we discuss the relative effectiveness of
different control measures.Comment: 42 pages, 3 figures. arXiv admin note: substantial text overlap with

Photocatalytic degradation of diclofenac in wastewater using ironceramic composites
The photocatalytic degradation of diclofenac in model aqueous solution is investigated. The surface of composites were correlated with photocatalytic activity. Adsorption activity of the composites is related to the presence of surface active sites. The degradation under UV irradiation and photo-Fenton process using ironceramic composites is more effective than direct photolysis
The Kentucky Noisy Monte Carlo Algorithm for Wilson Dynamical Fermions
We develop an implementation for a recently proposed Noisy Monte Carlo
approach to the simulation of lattice QCD with dynamical fermions by
incorporating the full fermion determinant directly. Our algorithm uses a
quenched gauge field update with a shifted gauge coupling to minimize
fluctuations in the trace log of the Wilson Dirac matrix. The details of tuning
the gauge coupling shift as well as results for the distribution of noisy
estimators in our implementation are given. We present data for some basic
observables from the noisy method, as well as acceptance rate information and
discuss potential autocorrelation and sign violation effects. Both the results
and the efficiency of the algorithm are compared against those of Hybrid Monte
Carlo.

The object of the study served as an open joint stock company "Stroytransgaz Siberia" carries out its activity on the territory of Tomsk region. The study period was three years (2013-2015). In the financial-economic activity of the organization major means is one of the Central places. Their effective use promotes optimal and economical consumption of other types of resources (e.g., raw materials, etc.). Thus, the condition and effective use of fixed assets depend on the quality of the activities of the entity. The main indicators characterizing the efficiency of use of fixed assets are capital productivity, capital intensity and fondamentalisti. Also important, the coefficients of technical condition of fixed assets (coefficients of shelf life wear). As specific measures to improve the efficiency of use of fixed assets of OJSC "Stroytransgaz Siberia" it was proposed to use a special deemphasize the gaps between the actual physical condition of fixed assets and their accounting treatment

Search for the Proton Decay Mode proton to neutrino K+ in Soudan 2
We have searched for the proton decay mode proton to neutrino K+ using the
one-kiloton Soudan 2 high resolution calorimeter. Contained events obtained
from a 3.56 kiloton-year fiducial exposure through June 1997 are examined for
occurrence of a visible K+ track which decays at rest into mu+ nu or pi+ pi0.
We found one candidate event consistent with background, yielding a limit,
tau/B > 4.3 10^{31} years at 90% CL with no background subtraction.Comment: 13 pages, Latex, 3 tables and 3 figures, Accepted by Physics Letters
A Lattice Study of the Magnetic Moment and the Spin Structure of the Nucleon
Using an approach free from momentum extrapolation, we calculate the nucleon
magnetic moment and the fraction of the nucleon spin carried by the quark
angular momentum in the quenched lattice QCD approximation. Quarks with three
values of lattice masses, 210, 124 and 80 MeV, are formulated on the lattice
using the standard Wilson approach. At every mass, 100 gluon configurations on
16^3 x 32 lattice with \beta=6.0 are used for statistical averaging. The
results are compared with the previous calculations with momentum
extrapolation. The contribution of the disconnected diagrams is studied at the
largest quark mass using noise theory technique.Comment: 14 pages, 3 figures, Talk given at Lattice2001, Berlin, German
