Measurement of B(D+ -> mu+ nu) and the pseudoscalar decay constant f_D at CLEO
The analysis of 60 1/pb data collected on the psi(3770) resonance with the
CLEO-c detector has produced the first statistically significant signal for D+
-> mu+ nu decay and led to the measurement of the decay branching fraction B(D+
-> mu+ nu) = (3.5 +- 1.4 +- 0.6) x 10-4 and the pseudoscalar decay constant f_D
= (202 +- 41 +- 17) MeV.Comment: Talk presented at the 1st Meeting of the APS Topical Group on

Heavy Quark Spectroscopy -- Theory Overview
Some recent discoveries in the spectroscopy of hadrons containing heavy
quarks, and some of their theoretical interpretations, are reviewed.Comment: 13 pages, 6 figures. Presented at Second Meeting of APS Topical Group
on Hadron Physics, Nashville, TN, 22-24. Proceedings to be published by

Hadronic Contributions to the Photon Vacuum Polarization and their Role in Precision Physics
I review recent evaluations of the hadronic contribution to the shift in the
fine structure constant and to the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon.
Substantial progress in a precise determination of these important observables
is a consequence of substantially improved total cross section measurement by
the CMD-2 and BES II collaborations and an improved theoretical understanding.
Prospects for further possible progress is discussed.Comment: 17 pages 7 figures 2 tables, update: incl. CMD-2 data, reference
Hadron Spectroscopy: Theory and Experiment
Many new results on hadron spectra have been appearing in the past few years
thanks to improved experimental techniques and searches in new channels. New
theoretical techniques including refined methods of lattice QCD have kept pace
with these developments. Much has been learned about states made of both light
(u, d, and s) and heavy (c, b) quarks. The present review treats light-quark
mesons, glueballs, hybrids, particles with a single c or b quark, charmonium,
and bottomonium states. Some prospects for further study are noted.Comment: 29 pages, 9 figures, to be published in Journal of Physics G. Further

Experimental studies of e + e -â some charmless processes containing K S0 at âs = 3.773 and 3.65 GeV
We measure the observed cross sections for the charmless processes e + e -âK S0 K - K - K + Ï ++ c.c., K S0 K - Ï + η+c.c., K S0 K - Ï + Ï + Ï - η+c.c., K S0 K - K - K + Ï + η+c.c., K S0 K - K - K + Ï + Ï 0+c.c., K S0 K - Ï ++c.c. and K S0 K - Ï + Ï 0+c.c. We also extract upper limits on the branching fractions for Ï(3770) decays into these final states at 90% C.L. Analyzed data samples correspond to 17.3 pb-1 and 6.5 pb-1 integrated luminosities registered, respectively, at âs = 3.773 and 3.65 GeV, with the BES-II detector at the BEPC collider. © 2009 Springer-Verlag / SocietĂ Italiana di Fisica.published_or_final_versionSpringer Open Choice, 21 Feb 201
