    A Study of Authorship Patterns and Collaborative Research in Collaborative Librarianship, 2009-2014

    This paper presents a bibliometric study of Collaborative Librarianship (CL) during the period of 2009-2014. A total of 223 research contributions and 343 authors were examined by growth of contributions by year and volume, authorship patterns by year and volume, growth of authors by year, authorship patterns, author productivity, authorship patterns by global, most prolific contributors and degree of collaboration. Average number of authors per paper is 1.538. The highest number of author productivity i.e., 0.650. The average degree of author collaboration in the Collaborative Librarianship is 0.354, which clearly indicates its dominance upon single authored contributions

    ANALYSIS OF LITERATURE ON DENGUE: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY

    Abstract: This paper analysis a literature of Dengue using bibliometric techniques, the records published during the year 2008 to 2017 in the MEDLINE data, which are covered by Pubmed. On the whole, it is observed that from 2008 onwards there is a gradual increase in research on Dengue. It was examined that 41.4% data are journal articles. It was also studied that United States is the major producer, followed by England and Netherlands in the area of Dengue literature. The literary production is observed in almost all the major countries covered. India has been ranked in the 4th position. 94.8% of the research output covered in English language and followed by Spanish, Portuguese and French. The Relative Growth Rate (RGR) has been decreased from 0.75 to 0.14 and the Doubling Time (Dt) increases from 0.92 to 5.02 in the study period. Indian efforts in Dengue research are greater in three years out of ten years of study, since the Activity Index is higher than 100, in those three years, which reflects higher activity of Dengue research than the World’s average

    This paper presents the analysis of core journals and subject-wise coverage of journals in the field of Vascular Diseases in Children for the period from 2012 to 2016 in the MEDLINE data which are covered in the Pubmed. The purpose of this study is to ascertain the core journals and its subject-wise coverage of journals in the field of Vascular Diseases in Children. It is found that the maximum number of records (6223) was published during the year 2015. The majority of the records were journal articles. 43 journals grouped in zone-1 published 4122 journal articles. In the second zone comprises of 263 journals published 4253 journal articles and 1749 journals published 3964 journal articles grouped in third zone. In zone-1, 15 journals are associated with Pediatrics, 8 with Cardiology, 4 with Cardiovascular Surgery, 3 with Neurology, 2 each with Neurosurgery, Surgery and Thoracic Surgery and 1 each with Dermatology, Genetics, Medicine, Nephrology, Oncology, Physiology and Radiology. In zone-2; 68 are General Medicine out of 263 journals covered, 44 in Cardiology, 25 in Pediatrics, 18 in Radiology, 15 in Surgery, 11 in Neurology, 9 in Neurosurgery, 8 in Genetics, 7 each in Anesthesia, Hematology and Rheumatology, 4 each in Endocrinology, Ophthalmology and Physiology, 3 in Cardiovascular Surgery, 2 each in Dermatology, Nephrology, Nutrition, Orthopedics, Pathology, Perinatology, Public Health, Urology and Vascular Surgery and 1 each in Biochemistry, Cancer, Dentistry, Epidemiology, Forensic Medicine, Gastroenterology, Oncology, Otorhinolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Respiratory Medicine and Thoracic Surgery. 306 journals have been identified as core journals in the field of Vascular Diseases in Children

    This paper presents the analysis of core journals and subject-wise coverage of journals in the field of Breast Cancer for the period 1965 to 2014 in the MEDLINE data which are covered in the Pubmed. The purpose of this study is to identify the core journals and its subject-wise coverage of journals in the discipline of Breast Cancer. The majority of the records were journal articles. In zone-1, 10 journals associated with Oncology, 3 journals are associated with Medicine, 2 with Surgery, one each with Nursing, Nutrition and Public Health. In zone-2; 47 journals are in Oncology subject out of 105 journals covered, 32 in Medicine, 8 in Public Health, 7 in Surgery, 3 in Pathology, 2 each in Epidemiology, Nursing and Radiology and 1 each in Biochemistry and Genetics. In zone-1 & 2 combined; 57 frequently cited journals are in Oncology subject out of 123 journals covered, 35 in Medicine, 9 each in Public Health and Surgery, 3 each in Nursing and Pathology, 2 each in Epidemiology and Radiology, 1 each in Biochemistry, Genetics and Nutrition. It shows that the most cited journals are Oncology subject. 123 journals are identified as core journals in the field of Breast Cancer

    Abstract: Bibliometric techniques were applied to analyze the authorship trend in the “Clay Research” during the period of 2007-2016. A total of 83 articles and 303 authors in the journal were examined by research article contributions by year and issue, authorship patterns by year and volume, authorship patterns, author’s productivity, most prolific authors, ranking by authors, contribution by institutions, authorship by country and degree of author collaboration. The average number of authors per paper is 3.650 and the average productivity per author is 0.273. The average degree of author collaboration is 0.891 during the period under study. The majority 294(97.029%) of the papers have been written in joint authorship

    PRIMARY JOURNALS AND THEIR COUNTRIES IN THE FIELD OF DENGUE LITERATURE: AN ANALYSIS

    Presents a bibliometric analysis of the literature in the field of Dengue as indexed the MEDLINE data which covered in the Pubmed for the period 2008 to 2017. It is noticed that total of 11826 records on literature of Dengue are covered for a period of ten years from 2008 to 2017. It is also noticed that the maximum number of records (1810) was published during year 2016, followed by 1540 in 2017 and 1520 in 2015. It was found that Journal Article (41.4%), Research Support, Non-U.S. Gov’t (33.81%), Review (10.69%), Letter (3.61%), and Research Support, U.S. Gov\u27t Non-P.H.S. (2.86%). 37 primary journals grouped in zone 1 published 1675 articles accounting for one third of the total output. Similarly the second zone comprises of 143 journals and 904 journals grouped in third zone. Of the 37 titles in zone-1, 12 are associated with United States and followed by England (9), Netherlands (5), India (4), Brazil (2), China (1), Germany (1), Japan (1), Sweden (1) and Thailand (1). In zone-1 & 2 ; out of 180 journals, 51 frequently cited journals are United States, this is followed by the countries i.e. England (33), India (19), Netherlands (11), Brazil (9), Switzerland (9), France (6), Japan (4), China (3), Egypt (3), Germany (3), Pakistan (3), Singapore (3), Colombia (2), Italy (2), Malaysia (2), Thailand (2), Argentina (1), Australia(1), Austria (1), Canada (1), Chile (1), Cuba (1), Indonesia (1), Iran (1), Jamaica (1), Mexico (1), Peru (1), Philippines (1), Poland (1), Sri Lanka (1) and Sweden (1)

    An Effective Supervised Machine Learning Approach for Indian Native Chicken’s Gender and Breed Classification

    This study proposes a computer vision and machine learning (ML)-based approach to classify gender and breed in native chicken production industries with minimal human intervention. The supervised ML and feature extraction algorithms are utilized to classify eleven Indian chicken breeds, with 17,600 training samples and 4,400 testing samples (80:20 ratio). The gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) algorithm is applied for feature extraction, and the principle component analysis (PCA) algorithm is used for feature selection. Among the tested 27 classifiers, the FG-SVM, F-KNN, and W-KNN classifiers obtain more than 90% accuracy, with individual accuracies of 90.1%, 99.1%, and 99.1%. The BT classifier performs well in gender and breed classification work, achieving accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and F-scores of 99.3%, 90.2%, 99.4%, and 99.5%, respectively, and a mean absolute error of 0.7
