Heat transport characteristics in a pressurized He II channel have been studied, using two-dimensional numerical code that is based on the two fluid model. In general, He II heat transport performance gets worse in a either long or narrow channel [1]. If a porous medium is used as a part of the channel to transfer heat to a next channel, it will be expected to improve the heat transport in the channel. In this study, numerical model was based on the channel formed by two FRP plates in parallel and a spacer was inserted in the middle of the channel to divide into two regions. A heater was placed in one of FRP plate to input heat to the channel. Two kinds of spacers were used in the analysis to compare heat transport characteristics; (l) porous spacer, (2) FRP spacer. The temperature distribution and flow velocity vectors of He II in the channel were calculated with a steady state heat input. According to the calculated results, the temperature increase of He II in the heated channel was suppressed in the case of a porous spacer. In addition, the mass flow induced by the thermo-mechanical effect of He II enhanced heat transport capability. The paper also discusses the He II flows within the channel

The fundamental research of HTS coil cooling assist technology by magnetic refrigeration has been studied. Using magnetic refrigeration technology, we are focusing on numerical analysis to see if the cooling efficiency around 20 K of high-temperature superconducting coils can be enhanced. The feature of the proposed cooling method is that it utilizes the leakage magnetic field from the HTS coil. Magnetic refrigeration technology needs to apply a change of magnetic field to a certain type of magnetic material, and the configuration of applying a change of magnetic field to the material in the cryostat is the point of the proposed cooling assist method. We confirm a system that uses a magnetic refrigerator in combination with a refrigerant circulation cooling system by utilizing the leakage magnetic field generated when using a superconducting coil and producing a magneto caloric effect has higher refrigeration performance than the refrigerant circulation cooling system alone

There are so many patients with advanced gastric cancer who undergo systemic chemotherapy worldwide. The quality of life(QOL)of patients with gastric cancer who receive chemotherapy is often lowed by various gastrointestinal toxicities during the chemotherapy. Nutrition is also impaired by gastrointestinal toxicities. However, it is difficult to predict their occurrence in advance and further there is no good serum marker for nutrition in the patients treated with chemotherapy. Thus, it is important to objectively evaluate and predict the toxicity of the digestive tract during cancer chemotherapy. Diamine Oxidase(DAO)is an enzyme that is expressed in intestinal epithelial cells. Recently it has been reported that DAO activity may reflect damage or atrophy of the intestinal villi, and therefore it may be a sensitive serum marker for nutritional state. In this study, we measured serum DAO activity of patients with gastric cancer treated with systemic chemotherapy, and investigated the correlation between DAO activity and gastrointestinal toxicities. Six patients with gastric cancer, who were treated by docetaxel+cisplatin+S‐1combination chemotherapy, were enrolled. DAO activity was measured by sensitive colorimetric assay. DAO activities diminished after treatment in4patients with moderate to severe gastrointestinal toxicities. In contrast, they did not change in2patients with no gastrointestinal toxicities. Our results may suggest that DAO activity is a good serum marker for the gastrointestinal toxicities as well as nutrition state in patients who receive systemic chemotherapy. More large scale study is needed to warrant

This research clarifies how much exercise performers hold kinesthesia-like movement analogies, individually sensitive kinesthesia, and exercise materials as movement analogies in a forward handspring. Moreover, this study examines the relationship between exercise materials togethr with kinesthesia held by exercise performers and their performance. The result of this study indicates that each exercise performer has a variety of exercise materials and that the performer recognizes movements by his/her sense from among these exercise materials. Furthermore, according to the result, if an exercise performer does not have any exercise material that is regarded as a movement analogy, the exercise performer does not exhibit a high-skill performance. From these results, it is indicated that there is a risk that exercise materials may include unsuitable movement analogies for learning a movement. In relation to the kinesthesia, it is indicated that exercise performers recognize their movements as kinesthesia, but that some of them recognize their movements improperly
