Early Weight Gain During Pregnancy: Which Women Are the Most Affected?

    Get PDF
Maternal weight gain during pregnancy is a good prediction tool in short and long term health of pregnant women and their children. To study the effect of early weight gain of pregnant women until the end of the 2nd trimester of pregnancy, depending on their pre-pregnancy body mass index. 116 healthy pregnant women were followed until the 2nd trimester of pregnancy, their weight and height before pregnancy, as well as the current weight at the end of the 1st and 2nd trimesters were collected. Data included age, parity, eating habits and physical activity level. Statistics were performed using the Statview software. The mean pre-pregnancy BMI was 27 ± 5.27 kg/m². Weight gain in the 2nd trimester is 6.33 ± 4.84 kg. It decreases with the increasing age of the mother (25% of women between 20 and 24.9 years vs 12.5% of more than 35). Also, it decreases with the increasing number of children (62.5% in nulliparous vs 25% in multiparous). Breakfast is skipped by 64.5 % of overweight pregnant women in the 1st trimester and 90 % in the 2nd one. 80.17% and 69.83% of pregnant women do not practice any physical activity. Overweight and obese pregnant women before pregnancy do not take enough weight during pregnancy. Prospects will to analyze behaviors related to health and social status

Model-based versus model-free control designs for improving microalgae growth in a closed photobioreactor: Some preliminary comparisons

Controlling microalgae cultivation, i.e., a crucial industrial topic today, is a challenging task since the corresponding modeling is complex, highly uncertain and time-varying. A model-free control setting is therefore introduced in order to ensure a high growth of microalgae in a continuous closed photobioreactor. Computer simulations are displayed in order to compare this design to an input-output feedback linearizing control strategy, which is widely used in the academic literature on photobioreactors. They assess the superiority of the model-free standpoint both in terms of performances and implementation simplicity.Comment: The 24th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation (MED'16), Athens, Greece (June 21-24, 2016

The literary algerianity : for a new approach of the contemporary algerian novel

Et surtout, il est ce qu’il reste à écrireOur work offers a double state of place while seeking to place the Algerian novel in the field of critical theory. This is to demonstrate how the qualification of the Algerian as novel [francophone] and/or [postcolonial] imposes readings-analyses that are beyond the literacy of the text, which impose biased interpretations codes and do not demonstrate the poetics and aesthetics of the texts. To do this, it will “dé-lire” theory of the contemporary Algerian novel criticism, in order to get out of the aporias, commonplaces and required latter reflections which are often outdated and dated. The second movement will be reading. It’s to the state of affairs of the Algerian novel in a double movement, the state of affairs of his works and his readings. The last movement is clearly free and subjective reflection that will be conclusion of our proposal assumed of a new conceptualization of literary production. The contemporary literary algerianity as a new approach to the Algerian novel offers a novel which attaches no more to please the reader by telling him what he already knows or to flatter his ego leaving it a crutch to follow a story… The literary algerianite would be a perfect reflection of the author with his book, with its text and its characters. The contemporary Algerian novel moves between fabula and utopia, between memory and silence. And above all, it is what’s left to writ

Codec-based Adaptive QoS Control for VoWLAN with Differentiated Services

    No full text
International audienceVoice over Wireless LAN (VoWLAN) is becoming more and more helpful in our life and is expected to be among the most important applications in next generation networks. However, the maximum number of VoIP sessions that a WLAN can ensure is very small. Moreover, when the WLAN reaches its capacity the addition of one VoIP session affects the QoS parameters of all VoIP sessions. In this paper, we propose an adaptive technique to ensure the active VoIP sessions of users with high priority (from a provider perspective). Thus, in order to guarantee the quality of high priority sessions, we propose to downgrade the quality (low but acceptable MOS) of user sessions with low priority by changing their used codecs (e.g., ITU G729 instead of ITU G711). This technique and all related monitoring functions are defined into the proposed session-based QoS management architecture. In order to validate our approach a complete test-bed is made up by which we have performed some feasibility and gain tests
