Processes of globalization are permeating the world of higher education and escalating to a previously unprecedented degree, and institutions of higher education previously known for their cultural homogeneity are becoming increasingly heterogeneous. Consequently, cross-cultural study of higher education is evolving from a discipline investigating a relatively marginal phenomenon to one examining a rapidly accelerating process shifting from the margins to the center. Today some claim that cultural differences between students are an essential factor affecting their study expectations, practices, and preferences. This study seeks to examine differences in learning styles, expectations, and study practices of Israeli students versus students in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The research population consisted of 1,122 students, 554 studying in Israeli institutions of higher education and 568 in the CIS. The research tool was developed specifically for this study and it consisted of 44 items related to four main spheres: 1) students' personal and academic background characteristics, 2) perception of the academic world and of the opportunities afforded by higher education, 3) evaluation of the study environment, and 4) faculty/student responsibility for the study process. Research results indicate intercultural differences on almost all dimensions examined - personal and academic characteristics, perception of opportunities offered by academic studies as manifested in perception of crucial factors for selecting schools, factors arousing academic interest, crucial factors producing competent lecturers, requirements for receiving a good education, creating satisfaction with study conditions, study practices, and time devoted to studies. Research conclusions indicate that the inclusive character of the findings should prompt the academic world to examine mobility in higher education from a cultural perspective. Specifically, it is necessary to consider the diversity of practices, study styles, and preferences among international students

Purpose. This paper presents the recent problem of comprehension the enhancement of human’s body existence. Embodiment analyze in the aspect of dynamic the two fundamental structures: the mythologema and philosopheme. Authors pursue the objectives to show the «body-project»’s mythologema as the base of instrumentation body attitude. This mythologema comes from a thematic fronting the body as the object of possession and manipulatory by philosophic thought.Methodology. The basis of the research is the comparative, historical-philosophical and phenomenological methods.Results. The findings of the essay are brought to light the changes in attitude on embodiment’s mythologema by European culture in the XVIII–XIX centuries. This mythologeme legitimizes the diverse practical activity of the bodyes prosthesis and it’s transformation to the aesthetic artifact of biotechnologies. The source of this transformation was philosophical criticism the process of antagonistic estrangement the human body from person in biotechnologies. Consequently the new thematic fronting of the body represents the media existence of embodiment which should return the body to its disappearing autonomy.Practical implications. The results of the study can be applied in the formulation of sociocultural practices and formation new social ethical norms of human body’s conception.

Investigation of acoustic fields in the arctic zone with uneven ice cover

A mathematical model for elastic wave propagation in an ice cover with uneven relief (hummock) has been developed. The theoretical model is based on the application of “directed” Green’s functions. We obtained numerical results for different distances between radiating and receiving antennas installed inside the ice layer and in water medium. An information-measuring system was created to investigate elastic acoustic waves along ice surface based on electo-hydraulic generator. Experiments of high-frequency acoustic signal propagation from electro-hydraulic generator in water-ice-air system were carried out. We illustrated the model validity for the investigation of hydroacoustic wave propagation in real ice conditions

The rapid expansion of drug-resistant pathogens has created huge global impact and development of novel antimicrobial leads is one of the top priority studies in the current scenario. The present study aims to develop bio-hybridized nanocellulose films which comprise of phytogenic silver nanobactericides. The nanobactericides were synthesized by treating 1 mM silver nitrate with aqueous extract of Chamerion angustifolium which reduced the metal salt to produce polydispersed nanobactericides which were tested against the members of ESKAPE drug-resistant communities. The synthesized silver nanobactericides were subjected to characterization with UV–visible spectra which displayed maximum absorbance at 408 nm. The bio-molecular interaction of phyto-constituents to mediate synthesis and stabilization of nanobactericides was studied with Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) which depicted functional groups associated with nanobactericides. The crystalline nature was studied with X-ray diffraction (XRD) which showed Bragg’s intensities at 2θ angle which denoted (111), (200), (220), and (311) planes. The morphological characteristics of silver nanobactericides were defined with transmission electron Microscopy (TEM) image which displayed polydispersity of silver nanobactericides with size ranging from 2 to 40 nm. The synthesized nanobactericides showed a significant activity against MRSA strain with 21 mm zone of inhibition. The minimal inhibitory concentration of silver nanobactericides to inhibit the growth of test pathogens was also determined which ranged between 0.625 and 1.25 μg/ml. The silver nanobactericides were bio-hybridized onto nanocellulose films produced by Komagataeibacter xylinus B-12068 culture strain. The films were dried to determine the mechanical properties which showed increased in Young’s modulus and tensile strength in comparison with control bacterial cellulose films. Overall, the results obtained in the present investigation are promising enough to report bactericidal activity of bio-hybridized nanobactericidal films against ESKAPE. These communities are reported to cause severe threats to all forms of lives irrespective to their habitats which can lead to huge economical crisis
