Selfoscillations of Suspended Carbon Nanotubes with a Deflection Sensitive Resistance under Voltage Bias

We theoretically investigate the electro-mechanics of a Suspended Carbon Nanotube with a Deflection Sensitive Resistance subjected to a homogeneous Magnetic Field and a constant Voltage Bias. We show that, (with the exception of a singular case), for a sufficiently high magnetic field the time-independent state of charge transport through the nanotube becomes unstable to selfexcitations of the mechanical vibration accompanied by oscialltions in the voltage drop and current across the nanotube.Comment: 4 pages, 1 figur

Highly inheritable variable components in the clonal plantation of Scots pine

    Get PDF
The variability of the data on elemental composition of needles from the clonal population of Scots pine Pinus sylvestris L., established on the longterm field experiment, was studied by principal components extraction from the normalized data matrix, and broadsense heritability Н2, i.e. the contribution of clones to the total data variance was calculated both for the original variables and principal components. To find the linear combinations of variables with the highest heritability the discriminant analysis was performed. The results suggest the importance of multivariate statistics for forest genetics and selection in targeting search for genetic marker traits in the populations of woody plants, in assessing genetic differentiation among populations, identification of the best genotypes via their phenotypes, etc

Self - Consistent Description of e+e-gamma Plasma Created from the Vacuum in a Strong Electric Laser Field

In the present work a closed system of kinetic equations is obtained for the description of the vacuum creation of an electron - positron plasma and secondary photons due to a strong laser field. An estimate for the photon energy distribution is obtained. In the Markovian approximation the photon distribution has a 1/k spectrum (flicker noise).Comment: 6 pages, contribution to Proceedings of the International Bogolyubov Conference, Dubna (Russia), August 21-27, 200
