The present paper has analyzed the mechanism by which farmers try to cope with the supply-demand gap of agricultural labourers during busy agricultural seasons in the face of growing shortage of agricultural labourers. The traditional mechanism of patron-client relationship between farmers and agricultural labourers has been dealt with in this regard. In this paper an attempt has been made to find answer to the following questions: What is the degree of attachment of the agricultural labourers with the employer? Is there any patron-client relationship between the employer and the employee? How effective is this relationship as a coping mechanism to mitigate the problem of supply-demand gap of agricultural labourers? The paper is based on a micro level study conducted in six villages of Uttar Dinajpur district, a predominantly agricultural and backward district of West Bengal. The study has suggested that to cope with the situation of supplydemand gap of farm labour, there is no other alternative but to adopt selective mechanization of farm activities. Some degree of mechanization is already there which is visibly on the rise. In future, there will be more inducement to undertake mechanical innovation to tackle the growing supply-demand gap in the farm labour.Patron-client relationship, Supply-demand gap, Farmer-labourer attachment, Agricultural labourers, Agricultural and Food Policy, J22, J23, J43,

First Order Linear Homogeneous Ordinary Differential Equation in Fuzzy Environment Based On Laplace Transform

    Get PDF
In this paper the First Order Linear Ordinary Differential Equations (FOLODE) are described in fuzzy environment. Here coefficients and /or initial condition of FOLODE are taken as Generalized Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (GTFNs).The solution procedure of the FOLODE is developed by Laplace transform. It is illustrated by numerical examples. Finally imprecise bank account problem and concentration of drug in blood problem are described

Multi-item fuzzy inventory problem with space constraint via geometric programming method

In this paper, a multi-item inventory model with space constraint is developed in both crisp and fuzzy environment. A profit maximization inventory model is proposed here to determine the optimal values of demands and order levels of a product. Selling price and unit price are assumed to be demand-dependent and holding and set-up costs sock dependent. Total profit and warehouse space are considered to be vague and imprecise. The impreciseness in the above objective and constraint goals has been expressed by fuzzy linear membership functions. The problem is then solved using modified geometric programming method. Sensitivity analysis is also presented here

Generalized intuitionistic fuzzy laplace transform and its application in electrical circuit

In this paper we describe the generalized intuitionistic fuzzy laplace transform method for solving first order generalized intutionistic fuzzy differential equation. The procedure is applied in imprecise electrical circuit theory problem. Here the initial condition of those applications is taken as Generalized Intuitionistic triangular fuzzy numbers (GITFNs).Publisher's Versio

First Order Linear Non Homogeneous Ordinary Differential Equation in Fuzzy Environment

In this paper, the solution procedure of a first order linear non homogeneous ordinary differential equation in fuzzy environment is described. It is discussed for three different cases. They are i) Ordinary Differential Equation with initial value as a fuzzy number, ii) Ordinary Differential Equation with coefficient as a fuzzy number and iii) Ordinary Differential Equation with initial value and coefficient are fuzzy numbers. Here fuzzy numbers are taken as Generalized Triangular Fuzzy Numbers (GTFNs). An elementary application of population dynamics model is illustrated with numerical example. Keywords: Fuzzy Ordinary Differential Equation (FODE), Generalized Triangular fuzzy number (GTFN), strong solution

Neutrosophic Game Theoretic Approach to Indo-Pak Conflict over Jammu-Kashmir

The study deals with the enduring conflict between India and Pakistan over Jammu and Kashmir since 1947. The ongoing conflict is analyzed as an enduring rivalry; characterized by three major wars (1947-48), 1965, 1971, low intensity military conflict (Siachen), mini war at Kargil (1999), internal insurgency, cross border terrorism. We examine the progress and the status of the dispute, as well as the dynamics of the India Pakistan relationship by considering the influence of USA and China in crisis dynamics. We discuss the possible solutions offered by the various study groups and persons. Most of the studies were done in crisp environment. Pramanik and Roy (S. Pramanik and T.K. Roy, Game theoretic model to the Jammu-Kashmir conflict between India and Pakistan. International Journal of Mathematical Archive (IJMA), 4(8) (2013), 162-170.) studied game theoretic model toJammu and Kashmir conflict in crisp environment. In the present study we have extended the concept of the game theoric model of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict in neutrosophic envirorment. We have explored the possibilities and developed arguments for an application of principle of neutrosophic game theory to understand properly of the Jammu and Kashmir conflict in terms of goals and strategy of either side.
