Information-theoretic classification of SNOMED improves the organization of context-sensitive excerpts from Cochrane Reviews
The emphasis on evidence based medicine (EBM) has placed increased focus on finding timely answers to clinical questions in presence of patients. Using a combination of natural language processing for the generation of clinical excerpts and information theoretic distance based clustering, we evaluated multiple approaches for the efficient
presentation of context-sensitive EBM excerpts
Plane Double-Layer Structure of AC@S Cathode Improves Electrochemical Performance for Lithium-Sulfur Battery
Due to the high theoretical specific capacity of lithium-sulfur batteries, it is considered the most promising electrochemical energy storage device for the next generation. However, the development of lithium-sulfur battery has been restricted by its low cycle efficiency and low capacity. We present a Plane double-layer structure of AC@S cathode to improve the electrochemical performance of lithium-sulfur batteries. The battery with this cathode showed good electrochemical performance. The initial discharge capacity of the battery with the structure of AC@S cathode could reach 1,166 mAhgâ1 at 0.1 C. After 200 cycles, it still remains a reversible capacity of 793 mAh gâ1 with a low fading rate of 0.16% per cycle. Furthermore, the batteries could hold a discharge capacity of 620 mAh gâ1 after 200 cycles at a typical 0.5 C rate. The improvement of electrochemical performance is attributed to that the polysulfide produced during charge/discharge can be better concentrated in the cathode by the planar double-layer structure, thus reducing the loss of sulfur
The Study and Application of Optimizing Staged Perforation in Horizontal Wells
Horizontal well is regarded as a mature development technique and has been widely used in all kinds reservoir developing. Many factors cause the uneven development of horizontal sections such as the differences of physical property, friction loss of horizontal section, changes of deviation angle and so forth. Therefore, wellbore flow coupled model is introduced for horizontal well reservoir to clear the influences on horizontal wellâs even liquid producing profile by all kinds factors. The perforating model of horizontal section is optimized, segmented perforating to achieve even liquid producing profile of horizontal section is used. Optimization software for segmented perforating technique of horizontal well is built up based on research results, and it has achieved good result through primary application
Comparison of Subconjunctival Mitomycin C and 5-Fluorouracil Injection for Needle Revision of Early Failed Trabeculectomy Blebs
Background. To compare the efficacy of needle revision with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) and mitomycin C (MMC) on dysfunctional filtration blebs shortly after trabeculectomy. Methods. It is a prospective randomized study comparing needle revision augmented with MMC or 5-FU for failed trabeculectomy blebs. Results. To date 71 patients (75 eyes) have been enrolled, 40 eyes in the MMC group and 35 in the 5-FU group. 68 patients (72 eyes) have completed 12-month follow-up, 38 eyes in the MMC group and 34 in the 5-FU group. The mean IOP before and that after needle revision in the MMC group were 26.5±4.3âmmHg and 11.3±3.4âmmHg, respectively (P<0.05), and in the 5-FU group were 27.1±3.8âmmHg and 10.9±3.4âmmHg, respectively (P<0.05). At 12-month follow-up, complete success rates were 57.5% for MMC group and 34.3% for 5-FU group (P=0.042; log-rank test) and 75% and 60% (P=0.145; log-rank test), respectively, for the qualified success. Complication rates between the two groups were not statistically different (P>0.05). Conclusions. Needle revision and subconjunctival MMC injection were more effective than needling and subconjunctival 5-FU injection for early dysfunctional filtration blebs after trabeculectomies
