Generators of simple modular Lie superalgebras
Let be one of the finite-dimensional simple graded Lie superalgebras of
Cartan type or over an algebraically closed
field of characteristic . In this paper we prove that can be generated
by one element except the ones of type , or in certain
exceptional cases, in which can be generated by two elements. As a
subsidiary result, we also prove that certain classical Lie superalgebras or
their relatives can be generated by one or two elements
Representation of SO(3) Group by a Maximally Entangled State
A representation of the SO(3) group is mapped into a maximally entangled two
qubit state according to literatures. To show the evolution of the entangled
state, a model is set up on an maximally entangled electron pair, two electrons
of which pass independently through a rotating magnetic field. It is found that
the evolution path of the entangled state in the SO(3) sphere breaks an odd or
even number of times, corresponding to the double connectedness of the SO(3)
group. An odd number of breaks leads to an additional phase to the
entangled state, but an even number of breaks does not. A scheme to trace the
evolution of the entangled state is proposed by means of entangled photon pairs
and Kerr medium, allowing observation of the additional phase.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Long-term performance of reinforced concrete under a de-icing road environment
In the middle of 1990, over 30 different mixes of concretes with eight different binders and water-binder ratios of 0.3 to 0.75 were exposed to a highway environment with a heavy de-icing salt spread for the examination of long-term performance, including chloride penetration, reinforcement corrosion and frost attack. This paper presents the results from this long-term study regarding chloride penetration and reinforcement corrosion. The results show that the chloride penetration in concretes under a de-icing salt road environment is much weaker than that in concretes under marine splash environment in Sweden. The estimated critical chloride content for the corrosion initiation is about 0.3 % by mass of binder for rebars with uncracked concrete cover. Considering the chloride redistribution in the surface zone, ClinConc model has been modified so that it can present a better description of the chloride profiles in the concretes at such an exposure site
Biderivations, commuting mappings and (2-)local derivations of -graded Lie algebras of maximal class
In Fialowski's classification for algebras of maximal class, there are three
Lie algebras of maximal class with 1-dimensional homogeneous components:
, and . In this paper, we studied their
biderivations by considering the embedded mapping to derivation algebras. Then
we determined commuting mappings on these algebras as an application of
biderivations. Finally,
local and 2-local derivations for these three algebras were characterized as
the given gradings.Comment: 15 pages. Comments welcom
A Variational Level Set Model Combined with FCMS for Image Clustering Segmentation
The fuzzy C means clustering algorithm with spatial constraint (FCMS) is effective for image segmentation. However, it lacks essential smoothing constraints to the cluster boundaries and enough robustness to the noise. Samson et al. proposed a variational level set model for image clustering segmentation, which can get the smooth cluster boundaries and closed cluster regions due to the use of level set scheme. However it is very sensitive to the noise since it is actually a hard C means clustering model. In this paper, based on Samson’s work, we propose a new variational level set model combined with FCMS for image clustering segmentation. Compared with FCMS clustering, the proposed model can get smooth cluster boundaries and closed cluster regions due to the use of level set scheme. In addition, a block-based energy is incorporated into the energy functional, which enables the proposed model to be more robust to the noise than FCMS clustering and Samson’s model. Some experiments on the synthetic and real images are performed to assess the performance of the proposed model. Compared with some classical image segmentation models, the proposed model has a better performance for the images contaminated by different noise levels
