Quantum periods for N=2\mathcal{N}=2 SU(2)SU(2) SQCD around the superconformal point

We study the Argyres-Douglas theories realized at the superconformal point in the Coulomb moduli space of N=2\mathcal{N}=2 supersymmetric SU(2)SU(2) QCD with Nf=1,2,3N_f=1,2,3 hypermultiplets in the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit of the Omega-background. The Seiberg-Witten curve of the theory is quantized in this limit and the periods receive the quantum corrections. By applying the WKB method for the quantum Seiberg-Witten curve, we calculate the quantum corrections to the Seiberg-Witten periods around the superconformal point up to the fourth order in the parameter of the Omega background.Comment: 1+29 pages; v2: references added; v3: published version; v4: typos correcte

Spinal cord stimulation for the treatment of pain and toe ulceration associated with systemic sclerosis: a case report

Systemic sclerosis is a complex disease characterized by extensive fibrosis, microvascular alterations, and additional sequelae. Microvascular alterations can cause painful ulcers and necrosis; however, conservative or surgical treatment is often challenging in terms of healing. The study aimed to describe a toe ulcer with systemic sclerosis and its' successful treatment with spinal cord stimulation. An 83-year-old woman, who was diagnosed with systemic sclerosis over the past decade, was distressed by a non-healing toe ulcer for an extended period of time. The patient underwent spinal cord stimulation treatment with the expectation of pain relief and an improvement in microcirculatory insufficiency. Her pain scales and microcirculation improved, and the toe ulcer healed. Furthermore, the frequency of Raynaud's symptoms was reduced, and the patient's pain decreased. There was no recurrence of the ulcer and she no longer needed a cane for walking

Ultrastrong tunable coupler between superconducting LC resonators

We investigate the ultrastrong tunable coupler for coupling of superconducting resonators. Obtained coupling constant exceeds 1 GHz, and the wide range tunability is achieved both antiferromagnetics and ferromagnetics from 1086-1086 MHz to 604 MHz. The ultrastrong coupler is composed of rf-SQUID and dc-SQUID as tunable junctions, which connected to resonators via shared aluminum thin film meander lines enabling such a huge coupling constant. The spectrum of the coupler obviously shows the breaking of the rotating wave approximation, and our circuit model treating the Josephson junction as a tunable inductance reproduces the experimental results well. The ultrastrong coupler is expected to be utilized in quantum annealing circuits and/or NISQ devices with dense connections between qubits.Comment: 12pages, 7 figure

Ocular infestation by a juvenile leech, Myxobdella sinanensis in Japan

[Purpose] The case of ocular infestation by a leech is rare. We reported that Myxobdella sinanensis infests conjunctiva. [Observations] A 5-year-old girl presented with blood clots in the inner corner of the left eye, and a history bloody eye discharge and bloody tears for 5 days. She was prescribed 0.5% levofloxacin ophthalmic drops for conjunctival damage. However, her parent watched a worm moving in her conjunctiva while taking a bath. She presented again the same day, and a worm was found in the left eye of the lower conjunctival fornix and was adsorbed to the inner corner. We removed a worm under eye drop anesthesia, the next day the patient had no symptoms. We captured the worm, and it was identified morphologically and genetically as Myxobdella sinanensis. This was the first case reported of Myxobdella sinanensis be infestation in a human. [Conclusions and Importance] The ecological trait of Myxobdella sinanensis still did not remain clear, so this case report was helpful to find out a life cycle of Myxobdella sinanensis. As the outdoor population continues to increase, the cases of human parasites such as leech are expected to increase. When a patient with bloody eye discharge and bloody tears presents, we should carefully examine the conjunctiva and ocular surfaces, and interview recent history of exposure to stream water
